we see posts about Doyo and Banax every now and then so my question is What's the current state of things? Who's making what reel and who's rebranding the same reel without a mega mark up, just a fair price and reasonable profit? What about rods/blanks - who's using what blanks from where? Baits? We know Abu has gone down hill, and there's a number of rod manufacturers now selling reels (croix, ducket etc.), where's all this coming from? Kastking used to get a lot of hate, now they sell $260 reels and have a decent market share, been growing for a decade... @Eric 26 @Bazoo @Bigbox99 @PhishLI

To everybody posting encouraging words, much appreciated, reading through some of these comments helped to recalibrate my perspective. To the others, your posts were very suitable for my title ironically, thanks for wasting your time commenting

Sometimes I feel like I could be picking up a shift, or learning something, or finding something productive to do instead of fishing. Especially when I consider my time and energy and money spent on fishing things while I'm not even actually fishing, like buying/ making tackle, watching fishing videos, going through/ prepping/organizing my tackle etc. And then I think of how small the average fish is in this state, and then how awful the fishing is in my part of the state, and how I'll probably die never breaking 8#. Is it even worth it? Is fishing just a waste of time?

Tips to do this? I just bought 4 cans to spray some blanks i got from Sugartit custom lures and I think backwater lures or something. Do i need to "seal" these plastic blanks? Or top coat the spray paint?

Actually they're allowed to troll now, they're just not allowed to have lures in the water while they do it. They just drive around not fishing looking for fish FFS=ELECTRONIC TROLLING

I was being a little facetious 🙃 same thing happened with my Zillion. Bearings need oil, I was too nervous at the time to open it up so I only did the side place bearing and tried to drip some down into the other side through the pinion hole... it worked.

Who's using Daiwa TWS line guide with any of these leader knots? I basically just stopped using leader because of it

Trilene was go to for a long time, but I've been using more lures with split rings and the slight gap where the line sits leaves it just loose enough to wiggle free sometimes. Sandie jam is my new jam, double pitzen in cleaner water and not bottom contact. Braid gets uni, simple efficient and reliable

So factory bearings that are greased (so dumb) need the spirits... what about a double wash of DA instead? And I'm keeping the ultrasonic cleaner regardless, I've never had clearer lenses to look through in my life. Good call
