Braid cutting in to spool and general catches when baitcasting
I prefer 50lb braid on baitcasters. It’s important to wind it pretty tight onto the spool. Also, here’s a really good tip for when you’re new. Start with fresh, full spool of line: 1. Tie the end of the line onto a tree or something 2. Open your spool and walk backwards about as far as you want to be able to cast. 3. Put a piece of electrical tape on your spool 4. Reel your line back in as you walk back towards the tree. Now, you’ll never backlash farther than 1 cast-worth of line into the spool. It will save you a ton of time picking out backlashes.

I do Wordle and Mathler. Never heard of connections, will have to check it out. Ps. Wordle took me 4 guesses today too. Mathler took 2.

Guy takes 50lb Tarpon from BPS
Someone from Florida 😂 I love visiting Florida and have family there so no offense to my Floridian friends… but man, all the weirdest news stories come from your state haha.

Skipping docks with light baits
I use a St Croix Premier 7’ Medium for skipping. It’s pretty stout for a medium and would handle that lure setup easily. Have also used the 6’6 Medium in that line with success, but the longer rod is better for me.

Best Mono for braid to leader
I know it’s not technically “mono”, but I’ve been using YoZuri hybrid for years as leader material and I’ve always been extremely happy with it.

Marriage
13th anniversary in about 2 weeks. My marriage is a source of incredible strength, comfort, encouragement, and accountability. We love each other, even when we don't feel like it... which doesn't happen often, thankfully. Best advice I ever heard was "sit on the same side of the table" whenever you disagree about something. Meaning, make sure you continue to address the issue together, instead of letting that issue come between you. That, and treat your spouse as if they're the most important person in your world... because they are.

Beyond This 3D Reality.....
Absolutely. And I believe we were created with an innate hunger to search out and experience things beyond the physical realm. Humans have been searching for a “higher power” for millennia. People do that in all sorts of ways, some beneficial and some dangerous. I have had dramatic experiences with the love and power of God, through Jesus Christ. I encourage anyone else who is hungry for “more” to search him out. He is the bread of life and nothing else satisfies. And if anyone wants to hear stories of the supernatural realm breaking into the physical to bring healing, hope, and freedom from addiction and suffering, just ask. Happy to share.

Fishing around docks
I like this answer. My answer is: - Paddletail around the edges - Wacky rig or Ned rig skipped underneath, depending on the conditions.

Pflueger President.
I have not have any issues. I have two of the 35 size XT's and they've been bulletproof. I use them for all my "heavy" spinning tasks like skipping around docks and t-rigged stickbaits. Also, when I fish with people who can't use a baitcaster, I let them use these reels for things like topwater toad baits and stuff that can be pretty hard on a spinning setup. No problems ever.

Pflueger President.
Agreed. They're a killer reel for the price. I personally love the Pflueger Supreme XT and grab them on sale whenever I can, but the President is a very good reel for the price.

any guitar players here?
Been playing a long time. Used to play electric more, but the last 20 years or so have been almost exclusively acoustic. My prettiest guitar at the moment is this Taylor First Edition 524CE.

2023 deer hunt
For real. We start the 2nd week of Sept and can hunt (off and on, different weapons, etc) until around the first-second week of January. It's a LONG season. I'm not complaining, but it's definitely a major distraction for an extended period of time. Fortunately, I filled the freezer very early this year and have been able to focus on family, grad school, and my job for the last couple months.

Looking to improve my paddle tail swimbait game
Best "all around" is the 3.8", but I do use other sizes occasionally. I guess itmostly depends on what size chatterbaits and spinnerbaits you're using them on. For trailers, I'd probably be looking 3.3-3.8.

Who ties an FG knot?
I run FG on all my spinning rods and some of my casting rods. I can vouch that works with braid from 10-30 lb and leader from 6-20lb. Might work on a wider range than that, but that’s all I’ve tried and it’s worked for everything.

Nope. They really got these items locked down I guess. With that said, I feel bad highjacking this thread with my attempts to get a further discount on these items. I appreciate all the attempts to help tho! What other sales are you guys finding/expecting this upcoming "Black Friday" season?

I’m certainly not a power-buyer… not sure why I got 20% and others got 15%. My 20% didn’t work today on the items I wanted (BB1 Pro)… anyone got a lead on one of those 15% codes I can try?
