Evergreen Colors?
I always struggled to catch them on shad and shiner patterns, and have had my best success on perch. I always thought "match the hatch" and bone was a dingy water shad imitator, but maybe I'm wrong. I have had some success on bone, but my perch Iovino Splash It does better than my bone yellow magic. I feel like cool realistic paint jobs add beauty and value to a product, also. But if it costs me bass, I guess I can go with bone.

Evergreen Colors?
Ok, I guess it isn't up to me what the bass want, but with the baby bass and natural gill showerblows patterns, it's tough to pick bone. I'll do it for the bass though.

Evergreen Colors?
I know your right, but with a bone spook and bone plopper and bone yellow magic (got that as a gift) I am very tired of it. I also don't have shad in my lakes, so a bluegill or perch color bait would do better.

Evergreen Colors?
I want to buy a few more lures before the season starts. I was looking into the Evergreen SB. I also gave my jackhammer away to a log over the fall and need one of those too. Does anyone know if the 77 size Showerblows works as well as the others? Also, is the ghost baby gill jackhammer color good for a perch imitation and does it produce like Brett's Bluegill? Any color recommendations are appreciated except for white and bone. I refuse to buy something without at least a simple paint job if I pay over 10 bucks for it.

your GENIUS moments.
I went striper fishing in Sandy Hook one day and was driving back home. On the way back, I saw an enormous lake and decided I had to give it a try. I had my rod and reel but realized I left all my boxes of bass lures at home. I made a split second decision not to leave but to use my 5 inch mag darter and proceeded to catch my PB smallmouth. It looked upwards of 7 pounds and I still throw that bronze shiner Mag Darter whenever there are big bass to be caught.

Jerkbait under $16?
Had Husky Jerks and Rogues, want some new life in my jerkbait box (post 2010 or so). I like to try new things and experiment. Also added the Stunna, KVD and Rerange to my list of options. Trying to narrow it down. I have the Ripstop, X-Rap, Shadow Rap Shad, and a fluke (if they count). Should have probably mentioned it, rhe main forage in my lake is perch and bluegill.

Jerkbait under $16?
I got one of those, I love how I can bomb it out there. But I caught more fish on the ripstop than the X rap. I also have the olive color, but I need a perch jerkbait for my collection. Is it primarily a walleye and trout bait? I was hearing some stuff about that on another thread.

Jerkbait under $16?
I recently sold most of my tackle to try some new stuff manufacturers put out. I need some jerkbaits, and I am not willing to part with 25 dollars and lose a Megabass on the first cast. So far I'm looking at a Shadow Rap, Pointer 78, and the frontrunner, a Hit Stick. I want to imitate perch as they are the main forage. Any suggestions? And any other newer lures that work.

Rapala shad rap
The jointed one is a killer in broken water like creeks.

My Problem With YouTube Fishing Videos...
I love Tacticalbassin, but recently they've been pushing River2Sea and Megabass tackle with the fervor of a fire-breathing Googan. I think that not just in fishing, but in all entertainment, things run their course (like the Simpsons.) Soon people will turn their channel into an advertising platform or get overly repetitive and bore you. I like Tylersreelfishing, Marling baits, Fishingwithnorm, Tackle2thePeople and used to like Intuitive Angling.

School me on braid to leader
I've only been bass fishing for the past few years, but I went striper fishing for as long as I can remember. I've used braided lines for a very long time. Braid can work on spinning reels as well as conventional just as well, but with baitcasting try to respool your line every trip or two to stop it from digging in. Everyone knocks braid for having terrible abrasion resistance in the rocks, but it holds up better than other lines in trees and grass and wood cover. I used a swivel and an 8-12 inch leader for striper and had no problems. Don't use an Albright knot for wax coated lines, or it will slip right out. 4 carrier braid tears through weeds easier, eight carrier for castability and smoothness. I like Powerpro, Spiderwire, and Trilene braid. Sufix has not fared well in cover. Check your eyelets with a Q-tip for nicks or your braid will fray. I don't know much about flouro. Does anyone know if 40 lb braid is the best line for all around use on my baitcaster?

Good budget all purpose rod?
Yes, I had it, but everyone told me that it was more of a medium. I really liked it but it felt strained at 3/8-3/4 oz lures. I want one that I can stick in the trunk and use when I need to go a little far.

Good budget all purpose rod?
I will probably go for the Fury. Just waiting for it to go on sale. Thanks for the info.

Good budget all purpose rod?
Any thoughts on the Dobyns Fury or Bass X?

Good budget all purpose rod?
I'm not a huge brand loyal guy. Anything that works.

Good budget all purpose rod?
I have a heavy Daiwa Aird X for flipping and frogs. I need a rod to do everything else. I want to stay below 100, but could bump it up to 120 if I have to.

Good baitcaster under $200?
I know, but those are the purposes I'm using them for. I got the high speed Zillion and a normal curado. I do a lot more power fishing, so the Zillion is going to take the brunt of my fishing trips.

Good baitcaster under $200?
I know this will probably make one function better but I put the mgl on a 7 mh Fury with 15lb flouro, and the Zillion on a heavy 7 foot aird x and 40 lb powerpro.

Good baitcaster under $200?
I actually had decent 50's that day. The shipping prices in Japan were crazy, so I used regular Amazon. I lost my train of thought when I was going to mention that. I had a 200 dollar cap for EACH baitcaster. I coughed up the extra 100 from my hunting fund. If you don't believe me, I can send you a picture of both, ore a video of me casting them.

Good baitcaster under $200?
I used the link warefisher gave me and got the mgl both on Amazon next day delivery. I had some pretty old stuff and wasn't posted onto the way bass fishing was changing. This is my first Shimano reel, and my second Daiwa. Now my abu garcias feel old and cheap.

Good baitcaster under $200?
The Zillion 1000 and the curado mgl 150.

Good baitcaster under $200?
I know I will get a lot of backlash for saying this (pun intended), but I pitted both of these reels together with 40 lb PowerPro, and put both of these reels to the test, flipping, casting balsa, and punching. The mgl and Zillion were pretty equal, and I didn't get a backlash on either. One thing I did notice was the MGL casted a tad bit farther, and it did pretty well at everything. Thanks to everyone for helping me select my reels. Tight lines, Tony

Good baitcaster under $200?
Still, for 220 bucks, not a bad price. I'm gonna put the Curado MGL and the Zillion up against each other on the reservoir this week, and see who wins Thank you all for helping me narrow down my reel selection to two. A Curado MGL and a Daiwa Zillion. I'll keep you posted on what I think of each.

https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/aw/d/B01BG9L44Y/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A9FTPL5GD8GY5&psc=1&th=1 Is this the one you are talking about? Because for only 150 bucks it's a steal.
