A helping hand
Yesterday I was going out for a quick fishing trip. It was super windy. On my way back to the ramp I noticed a boat out in the middle. I figured they were just scoping which happens often. I start looking and here the group is paddling. I pull up ask them if they need help. I ended up towing them back to the ramp. When asked if they owe me anything I told them no. Just if you ever see anyone in a situation on the water like that please offer help. The water is a very dangerous and unforgiving place. Don’t ever get to caught up in your fishing or yourself to not lend a helping hand if needed. You never know when you might need that helping hand someday.

Backing Down the Boat Ramp
If you ever want pressure loading/unloading and backing a trailer enter a tournament. No one wants to be the guy that holds up everyone else.

Backing Down the Boat Ramp
I don’t get upset with someone struggling. We all were there at some point. We also all make mental errors we are human. what grinds my gears is people who is the ramp as a prep area or hang out area.

Loading Boat: Uneven Ramp Causes One Side of Trailer to Be Higher - Boat Not Center on Tailer
@gim everything is super shallow in the river here 😂 that’s why most run jets. I know that hump you are talking about. We have that and boulders.

Loading Boat: Uneven Ramp Causes One Side of Trailer to Be Higher - Boat Not Center on Tailer
That’s why we have holes at the bottom of all our ramps on the river. I wouldn’t dare to not power load it in the current though.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
@Swamp Girl in person there was a lot more contrast to the bands. When she ate I thought I was snagged everything stopped. I was fishing a barely submerged island. Than I felt her pull. I thought oh man this might be a 30”ish musky. I was super worried because I still wasn’t in the strongest of the current. When I got out to the strong current I backed my drag off a lot. Finally got her landed but, was a nail biter.

Lessons for Kayak Buyers
You’ll come to the dark side sometime 😂

What lure(s) are dead last in your arsenal?
Rattle traps and chatter baits. It seems like I have a better chance catching a fish on my sofa than with either of those. It’s not for lack of trying either.

Lessons for Kayak Buyers
@Koz I always appreciate reading your posts and the thought process that has gone into everything you’ve done. I know I jokingly give you hard times about buying a boat but, it has always been very clear you truly love the kayak experience.

TWO Boating Accidents At Pro Tournaments Today. 3 Killed.
A court may figure out who was “right and wrong”. No matter what everyone lost. People lost friends and family. A man now has to live with the fact he was involved in an accident where others passed. I don’t wish either of those circumstances on anyone. I hope everyone involved finds peace. My prayers go out to everyone.

Do bass follow lures?
Yes, I see this often. I’ve seen trout and walleye follow as well.

Why are fish biologists always so quick to assure you that “catch and release” laws aren’t helpful in producing or sustaining healthy fish populations?
Catch and release along with other precautions brought back the Susquehanna. some bodies here also have bigger size limits with less slots to fill. I think if there is not enough natural predators to them in a body of water it does become an issue. i also think a majority of people bass fishing practice catch and release. now are they always correct? I am sure not. Do other things come into play I won’t mention here? Surely. For a majority of it though I believe they are doing the best they can for the information they have.

Big temp swings.
I have been struggling with the weather patterns lately. Doesn’t mean others aren’t doing well I am just not. So, I blame the inconsistent weather like you mentioned.

Alternating Spots; Avoiding Overfishing
@1984isNOW never change what is catching you fish. When catch rates drop than change. That's my opinion anyway. Now when I fish with someone else I will once we start getting on them one keeps the same on and usually I search for something else to see if it’s working better.

Whose type of fishing might be hardest for you?
I would have to say @Bluebasser86 being competitive on big lakes in kayak tournaments is mind blowing.

MECHANICAL SAFETY: How to Prevent Engine From Starting?
Not saying these aren’t good practices but, if the boat is in neutral the prop is not connected to the motor in anyway. There shouldn’t be anyway that the prop would be engaged to the rest of the motor. A jet does not have a gear box and runs directly off the drive shaft.

Alternating Spots; Avoiding Overfishing
I beat spots till I do not catch fish at them then I give them a break. If you are still catching. No reason to switch it up. No one else is going to stop going you might as well be the one catching them. With the water changing on the river it’s not as much of a problem as staying in one area for months on end.
