  1. @bartnc37I get it from lakeside marine I am not sure what company made the impeller. There js only a couple companies that do. The first one was the stock Yamaha one which is not made by Yamaha. is your jet grate to low below your hull? Do you use reverse a lot? I try to only use reverse in 4ft of water or more. Reverse shoots debris right up into your intake.
  2. @bartnc37 aluminum. I’ve always run Aluminum and haven’t had issues unless I heard myself suck something out. Sounds like a slot machine hitting the Jack pot. 😂 I
  3. @casts_by_fly I didn’t think there would be a warranty on it. I figured they would call it wear and tear item. Because all the rest of the blades were in good shape it’s being warrantied.
  4. I was fishing the susky yesterday went to move to a new spot. As I got up on plane I felt the motor over rev. Nothing new with a jet if you end up sucking something. I went to go to a different spot again and I was struggling to get up on plane. I knew there was an issue. i ended up completely losing a blade on my impeller. Which robbed me significantly of power. I do not believe I sucked anything it was a defect in the casting and it shattered.
  5. 8am is banker hours 😂 just teasing. Try to find some moving water or creeks with cover if you can.
  6. @Dogface yeah it was not the typical fall for sure. I have had some great size around thanksgiving. Once December hits any fish js a bonus haha. @OldManLure it def was not a good time last year. If you’re ever looking jn coming up I can give you some details on what’s going on here.
  7. @OldManLure depends on the year. I’ve seen it in the mid 60s close to 70. @Dogface last year was the worse oct of fishing I’ve ever had. I think it’s because the river was so low and clear. Most the summer it was like that too. Add the warmer than normal temps it just didn’t happen.
  8. Winter bass fishing here is not good. March you can get on the pigs.
  9. I fished an area of the river today I never fished before…
  10. It is 100% not a normal pattern. It does happen and it’s something to look for. I do find it’s usually late spring early summer it happens. I think it’s more of an active feeding frenzy when they are there not a “home”
  11. I use 17lb fluorocarbon and have got bit off by musky a few times. I have seen 130lb got bit through. It that’s a freak thing. Personally I like running wire now for anything with teeth. It doesn’t kill the action like heavy fluorocarbon does
  12. I know early season for me this year was very difficult. It seems to be back on track now. Not that I wasn’t catching fish I just could not get anything consistent. if your spots and presentations worked before you have to ask what changed. Is it weed growth, water temp, higher/lower water, dirty/clear water the list goes on. Then what time of year were the fish experiencing. Pre/post spawn, summer, fall, winter or any transition period. You could very well be fishing great areas just the wrong time or one of the other factors js off. Now, the best answer I can give is to learn your body of water thoroughly. The good, bad, and ugly. Take notes. I had good days and this is why. Or what did I do and was not successful during these conditions. Nothing beats time on the water. There is no magic advice or lure to use that beats that. Some days they just aren’t eating. You can’t fix that.
  13. Just a couple of the ones I caught on a dreary Father’s Day. The LMB must have been drunk. I haven been catching more of them in the past couple years on the river.
  14. @Pat Brown I gave up on the whole line thing. I’d much rather run straight braid again where I fish dictates I can’t. If hooks weights and rattles don’t bother them I highly doubt line will be the reason they do not eat.
  15. I run a 7-8 ft leader to braid. It is still much more sensitive than running straight mono or fluorocarbon. I DO NOT use it because of visibility. I use it because I fish an extremely rocky area and need it due to its abrasion resistance. If I would use straight braid I would lose fish and lures due to line failures.
  16. I thought you’re suppose to let the fish tell you what they want 😂
  17. I generally beat a spot till it dies out than try another. I will make trips to other places though just to go! That’s some of the fun.
  18. Starting fishing in the first place cost me a lot of money. Honestly I just fish. I can’t say anything has been a waste of money or that it caused me to not catch a fish. Skill trumps equipment.
  19. @Swamp Girl the bite can change hourly on the river for sure. It can also be super predictable.
  20. @Swamp Girl I was purposely fishing these weeds. Usually I am a rock guy. It does change the bite is always changing on flow.
  21. @Swamp Girl I have no doubt you have the skill to be able to do it. If I can anyone can. I find it difficult for me. Others maybe it is really easy.
  22. @Swamp Girl it wasn’t just the pin point of the cast. It was speeding up and slowing down the retrieve so my bait would hit that sweet spot. Using the current to get it to be where I wanted it to present it right.
  23. @Swamp Girl that one was hiding around weeds. That’s a very technical area to fish. Lots of current submerged weeds and needing to pin point casts to time the drift. I think youd really would have enjoyed that style of fishing that day.
