My fishing needs help
Sounds to me like you are doing to much. Fishing to many different bodies of water. Trying to rush around and find fish. Use to many different bait options. Fish the bodies of water small. I’d cut your bodies of water in half and the river in small stretches. Slow it down. I do not mean retrieve speed. Pick about 3-5 baits and learn them. boat position, using your electronics will help you catch more fish. It’s 100% a skill to learn. Once you get the above handled better the boat and electronics will come. Do not try to learn everyone all in one trip. You never will. Build your confidence first!

Do you ever apply peer pressure?
I do not. If it’s legal it’s their choice. I will always ask if someone needs assistance if they look broke down or struggling.

If you had a bass boat, FFS, SpotLock, and a bag of chips, do you think you'd catch more?
FFS 100% no doubt I could catch more fish. I see what a difference a flasher does with ice fishing. I already have spot lock. I’ll pass on the bag of chips.

Family Sues Major League Fishing Over Fatal Smith Lake Tournament Crash
That video is very very scary stuff. That impact is literally like standing on a highway and getting hit by a car. I couldn’t imagine having been that guy that had the video and looking over to see that.

Losing bass in kayak
Angles are everything in fishing. Make sure your rod stays bent even if it’s to the side. The bend in your rod and your drag working in one will help you land more fish. From bank, boat or kayak.

Co-Angler Question
I always make an attempt to get it back unless it is a dangerous situation

When's the best time to buy?
It is very easy to ass another 10k to a boat. A lot of the factory rigged options are low end stuff that most people upgrade. Than tax, tags etc. that being said a well taken care of boat will more than likely outlast your vehicle. I will never condone being wreckless with finances. If you can do it do it. Waiting another 5 years or for retirement or any other excuse isn’t a good idea. I want to live now. Not look back and say man that would have been fun I want to say Man! That was a blast!

How's Your 2025 Going?
2025 in life? Ehh. 2025 in fishing? I feel like I’ve been having a pretty good year. I have learned a lot about the river this year. More so than ever. Hopefully I keep adding to the knowledge to be successful. I am even 100% catch rate on musky trips! (Musky fished once in 2025)

Check your trailer wiring for wear
I actually blew my running light fuse for the trailer plug last weekend in my truck. I plead the 5th of how I handled it at 4:30am.

How do your bass get big?
Lead weights 😂😂

Line Snippers?
I just use that cheap rapala scissors @gim showed. I’ve used it in 50lb FC 80lb braid and shoe laces, shirts, plastic, decals etc. the true secret behind cutting line is making sure it’s taunt before you cut it.

How do you usually refuel your onboard fuel tank?
Jet boats are terribly inefficient for fuel economy 😂😂

How do you usually refuel your onboard fuel tank?
I use ethanol free and not every place has that. Generally I use 4-6ish gallons in a normal weekend and use a 5.5 gal jug. I keep my tank full too so really I am just topping off. Now if I do run half way down I will usually take it to the station.

Went Full Circle This Week….(somewhat)
I have been fishing the tidal susky lately. I do not have much experience with tidal water either. One of the times I was there I wasn’t paying attention to the tide. I was up in the rocks and looked down to an area we fished earlier. I said oh boy look at how far those rocks are out of the water now. Checked it we were at the lowest of the low tide. glad you are feeling better buddy! Hope it keeps up and the fall fishing treats you well.

Fiberglass or aluminum Jon boat?
Jon boats should always be aluminum in my opinion. They are generally made to beat around be put away wet.

More Kayak Trailer Mods
@gim yes sir. I have been doing fabrication and welding repairs for 17 years plus 2 years of schooling. Lately I have been doing lots of acid etching proving a good looking weld can mean 100% nothing as far as strength and penetration.

More Kayak Trailer Mods
That’s what I’m talking about! I didn’t mean you weld what you did. I meant get something completely custom get it designed how you want. There would be gussets welded in no worry for flex and wind shear.

More Kayak Trailer Mods
Have you thought about getting a fabricator to weld up what you want instead of bolting and using premade parts? That way you can have exactly what you want with the stability you need. That will be the best way to eliminate flexing. you could u-bolt whatever is fabricated to your existing galvanized trailer frame. If you’d ever need to unmount it that would make it very easy.

Your Fishing Log
I kept logs when I musky fished. Weather, water temp, time caught, major/minor or neither, bait, where it hit on my retrieve, what color underwear I was wearing, etc. ok the last one was a joke but I tried to have as much info as possible. bass fishing I never have. I just bass fish. I treat it differently. There is fun and laughs to be had. Musky fishing was a job. It wasn’t fun I just loved the adrenaline. Bass fishing is just enjoyable.
