Etiquette Questions?
@FloridaFishinFool it’s etiquette not a rule by the governing body. If you chose not to do it then someone might not repay the favor to you. For me friendship/relationship stops when competition starts.

Etiquette Questions?
Count me in on this than. You and I are never going to see eye to eye on anything ever. Doesn’t make you or I a bad person. Just complete opposites.

Etiquette Questions?
I was going to say this. @FloridaFishinFool I’d rather have someone who shows emotion and passion than be another robot. They aren’t being paid a salary to fish. They are gambling their money in hopes to win tournaments to make a living. That’s why almost all are just content creators to make ends meet or have their own brand. As far as being loud saying come talk to me. Turn your motor off etc. that’s meeting confrontation head on. I have had many many arguments go from yelling saying F you to talking through what actually happened shaking hands and exchanging numbers after. Maybe that’s just the Philly/NY/NJ way. @gim I think it is. I knew two pro anglers before I ever really started watching pro stuff. Ike and KVD. I had no clue who Rick clunn, Jacob wheeler, Roland Martin, anyone else you can think of.

Etiquette Questions?
@FloridaFishinFool on the water Ike js a fierce competitor. He’s fishing for his lively hood. He also is the guy who won’t leave till everyone has an autograph from him. When he talks to kids he doesn’t stare down at them he will drop to one knee and make them feel involved, comfortable, encourage them. He will make them feel like they are talking to a human not a hall of fame pro who just doing it to make face. He is in my area often fishing recreationally. Know him before you throw him under the bus. His true character. His true character is giving back to the sport specifically the children and getting them involved. I completely agree if you have a shot at winning but, I’m not even going to make the cut tomorrow I should move. You shouldn’t ask me but I should yield. That’s respect. On a one day tournament at a local lake? I am not moving an inch im competing for the same money. If I am out recreationally fishing sometimes I ask if I can go by someone that I am not intruding I’m going way over there just need to get by because it’s narrow. If I’m recreationally fishing and I know tournaments are going on I will give them more room.

Family Sues Major League Fishing Over Fatal Smith Lake Tournament Crash
No one hits the brakes in their car the second they go .1 mph over the speed limit or drive 2-3 mph under just so they do not go over. You will literally have nobody making it to Sunday unless they go 5 under all the time. They would be fixated on watching their speed the whole time instead of whats ahead.

Family Sues Major League Fishing Over Fatal Smith Lake Tournament Crash
I respectfully disagree with this you have to have time to react to changing conditions. I have watched my gps speed change half a mile per hour instantly than go back. That is why there needs to be a tolerance in my opinion. You’d be to busy watching the reading than whats in front of you.

Why do most bass hit within a few feet of where my surface lures land?
You’re just using your built in FFS. Whether you believe it or not you are very gifted in finding fish. You have a 6th sense. I am sure some bass see the shadow and run to it. I am sure some have the splash and go after it. Regardless you’re casting in the right spots.

What do you do when the river gets super low & clear this time of year?
@HawkeyeSmallie I agree to an extent. If they get quote on quote trapped yes. Generally where I fish no. Higher water lets more fish gather in a certain area. That’s why times of good flow I can catch musky, walleye, bass, catfish in one area. When it’s low that does not happen. The bigger bass do not want the competition for food in a smaller concentrated hole.

@MN Fisher I like that idea but, I see one fail point to it. Wind/current. That can change your speed faster for a few seconds. There would almost have to be a time limit. Just like a cop has to trail you a certain amount of time before they can pull you over if they are behind you and you’re speeding (at least here). Or grossly over the speed limit. If they catch you on radar or times that’s different. I think if you speed through a no wake you get disqualified for the season. Not only is it unsafe it’s completely disrespectful in most cases.

Sorry if I missed this. Are your batteries in good shape and do any of your power cables get hot? The reason it’s not doing it outside the water is everytbing is moving freely. When you are trying to use it to move the boat it is under load. So my guess is it’s drawing more than your batteries can put out. Are your cables in good shape from the batteries? If you have any exposed rubbing somewhere this can be a cause of the problem too. Before you go jumping into the motor itself look at everything you can that is related to powering it.

I will start switching up stretches of the river but, I do end up abandoning it. It gets way to dangerous and hard on my boat. The fisbing gets very tough. Right now we are about half a foot below the lowest I generally go out on. I feel like the fish spread out a lot versus when it’s above a certain flow. I will still use cranks and top water. Just trying to cover as much water as I can. If I want to get a little more finess I will use a drop shot or a weightless fluke

Family Sues Major League Fishing Over Fatal Smith Lake Tournament Crash
I think everyone can agree we all want to make the sport safer. Everyone that was involved in that accident lost something. I can’t fathom the weight that man will carry the rest of his life knowing he took the life of others.

I agree with this. When money is up for grabs people do stupid things. People make bad choices. High speeds highlight those bad choices even more.

@FloridaFishinFool how am I going way off track? You are the one who writes encyclopedias for responses and just brought up something that isn’t even in this topic. For my boat fitted with a GPS to know a kayak is there to avoid it the kayak would need GPS as well. I am not saying kayaks kill people. Kayaks can be very hard to see. If my boat has the gps to do what you say and a kayak doesn’t how is that going to work? If my GPS is going but, there is no ping from another GPS it won’t slow on down. That is why they would need it. Clearly you do not have enough experience with boats to know at times coming off plane can be dangerous.

@Bazoo it would seem every vessel would need GPS so they can talk to each other. Kayaks, paddle boards, jet skis, canoes, all commercial and non commercial vessels. Youd practically need a water traffic control to handle this and designate on plane areas for boats and fishing areas. Than what if it’s dangers for the boater to be coming off plane in a certain situation? The gps cuts the power you come off plane stuff the bow and swamp your boat. @FloridaFishinFool any thoughts to my above situations and theory’s?

Family Sues Major League Fishing Over Fatal Smith Lake Tournament Crash
@FloridaFishinFool I literally said it was more than likely the boaters fault not the one anchored. I for one will not fish an area I feel like could put in me danger legal or not. I also would think people who saw this boat anchored with no fog around it would be eye witness enough that have already gone on record saying that. Your GPS idea is simply crazy talk. That won’t happen.

Family Sues Major League Fishing Over Fatal Smith Lake Tournament Crash
@FloridaFishinFool multiple people who fished that tournament said fog was not the issue. Another angler in the tournament went by this boat that was anchored and is on record saying that boat was at a bad spot to be anchored. undoubtedly this was a terrible accident. Legally it matters whose fault it was. More than likely the boater because it’s his responsibility to be in control of his vessel at a speed he can safely do it. Sadly no legal action will change the outcome. People lost their lives. My heart goes out to everyone involved. As far as GPS to avoid collisions that’s just crazy talk. It was a horrific and sad accident. We can’t prevent everything. It’s always easy to look back and say they should have done this or that. Who knows maybe that boat gets struck by someone not in the tournament an hour later if he didn’t. I don’t think there would be near the outcry for change.

A little help, please.
I’d consider ned rigging or drop shotting. Maybe even a weightless fluke near the hard bottoms. if you want to go to the weeds try running a bladed jig make them want to come out of the weeds. Use a slim trailer.

@FloridaFishinFool you are comparing your 40 year old boats to boats now. Paints and coatings are way better. The technology is better. A wooden transom holding moisture is going to rot eventually salt water or not. I don’t know why you’re trying to get into some contest of the 1/4 hull and ramming into things. He’s not doing that I was replying to him. Now if you understood where I fish which again is nothing like the OP you know 90% of us have boats .125 and thinner. Knowing full well we are going to hit rocks at 25-40 mph.

1/4 hill aluminum boat is overkill unless you plan on hitting rocks on plan all the time with little care in the world. As far as the corrosion part unless you’re going to let it sit in salt water never wash it off and not use the sacrificial plate you won’t have any issues. This isn’t 1970 anymore we know how to handle corrosion. The 1/16 inch thick hull is how you’re keeping it so light. If you would go to an 1/8 hull youd double the weight. Again unless you’re looking to use it as a battering ram don’t worry about it. I would think those style boats tend to be tippy overall. The only real stable apart is towards the transom. The more towards the bow you go the less stability you have because of the footprint in the water. As always if you can get out on one in the water before buying that is best. Lund is a reputable brand.

Opinions on Lowe Stinger 175C
Seeing the light…..or coming to the darkside? Sorry I can’t resist. Lowe, lund, tracker, G3 can’t go wrong with them for aluminum boats. Tracker is usually the cheapest a lot of times they have wood decking. I enjoyed my tracker when I had it. Find a layout you want in a good price range. Personally I’d try to go see any boats considered in person. Look at the pros and cons of each and what bodies of water you are looking at using it on.

Am I doing sometime wrong or just cursed?
I struggle late July till the end of September. It’s a very hard time of year for me. The only time harder is the dead of winter. I have been fishing for most of my life and still haven’t figured it out. as others have said try to find some less pressured areas. You won’t believe the difference that makes.
