Reel for Conquest 905
What reel did you end up going with for your conquest 905? I was hesitating between then Antares and the Calcutta conquest. Ultimately went with the calcuta conquest 200 in 7.5:1 gear ratio. Wanted Conquest/Conquest and enjoy it - fun to hold, observe and feel, let alone fish. I use it for Huddlestons and deep heavy jigs. With 50lb braid it can handle big fish in purgatory cover.

have you EVER bought anything significant from a door to door salesperson?
I give them the time if I have it to give - I've learned a lot from sales oriented individuals. It is a world full of opportunity and believe it or not - sometimes there are good ideas / products / services / opportunities that "sales" people can bring to your attention which will provide you with value. Have you ever benefited in fishing from some sort of "sales" tactic? I'm certain most have.

The Death Of The Small Tackle Shop
Oh what a world... First we over tax and over regulate small businesses. Then we shut down our lives and small businesses during a pandemic while injecting trillions of dollars into the economy. Our governmeny expanded the money supply by over 40% in just a couple short years - more money injected into the economy than ever before - and ALL of that money FLOODED to the rich and powerful... (They constantly decry trickle down economics so this is their answer- to FLOOD money to the rich!?!) Not only did that money all flood to the top, but now we are all paying for it with hyperinflation and increasing destitution. (Homelessness, evictions, grocery bills... all on the rise) Small businesses are being targeted and eliminated by a government working hand in glove with big business to obliterate any sense of competition, and this cost is beared at all of our expense. Don't believe me? Open your eyes and witness these multi national conglomerates continue to own more and more which will ultimately reduce your freedom of choice. Instead of thousands of smaller busineses we are now at a point where only a handful of corporations own the majority of all commerce. If we want to see a world with many more small businesses like the mom and pop shop tackle stores we loved growing up- then we need to stand up to our ever increasingly regulating government, by limiting their power. But alas, perhaps it is too late... I might agree with Tom and many others in here - enjoy the few shops left while we still can, because they will soon be gone.

This. I didn't want to post any links as I am not certain of all those rules. Certainly the free shipping is the way to go.

Best 10-12 lb line for Spinning reel primarily using 1/8-1/4 oz paddle tail & Curly tail jigs?
Since turning to YGK bornrush braid it has become my favorite spinning reel line by far - for casting distance and sensitivity. It is thin PE Japanese line best suited on specialty rods/guides but I have found it works on most rods/guides just fine. If you have not tried braid before, give it a go, thin diameter for the most fun.

Spinning Reel - Shimano Ultegra, Diawa Tatula or ??
Between the two reels you have mentioned here is what I would do and why. I would order the Shimano ultegra 21 in 3000 size for around $103 google it and you will find this deal shipped from overseas. The ultegra is in my opinion smoother, but is a little heavier than the tatula... this extra ounce will help balance your 7'4 rod better than the tatula. This will give you a more balanced setup while saving you some $.

JDM style Rod?
If you want to experience JDM style rods now would be an opportune time to get your feet wet. The exchange rate between the USD and Yen is favorable to get great deals on picking up equipment overseas. My opinion is that the JDM rods are superior over most of American manufactured rods/reels. Especially in the Light/Ultra light categories. Their superior quality is driven by a population of SERIOUS fishermen who are willing to pay top $ for the most innovative/sensitive gear.

Spinning reel recommendations?
For around $200 don't miss out on the 2020 Daiwa Luvias 2500... probably the best reel you're going to get for this price range right now... buy from JDM source they can be had for right around this price range! Excellent reel! Only so inexpensive now because the new model is out and the exchange rate is awesome.

premium finesse casting rod ... ?
I use Steez CT SV TW on NRX+ 852c. I don't have any BFS but sometimes I think of this as a BFS+ setup - incredibly light, smooth, sensitive, balanced - almost like they were made for each other. Finese jig machine.

Zodias 7ft L ,Posion Adrena 6'11 UL, Edge 711DSR Spinning Rods- Which one?
Some recommendations after reading ; 1. Evergreen Salty Sensation Scout Master 7'0 Rod weight 55 Gram Lure weight - 0.4 - 10 gram 2. Yamaga-Blanks BlueCurrent Jig Special 72 / TZ Nano 7'2 rod Rod weight 70 grams Lure weight 1.5-15grams 3. Edge Black Widow Gary Loomis 4. NRX+ 852 spinning 5. Steez "The One" 7'6 mml (handles light stuff just fine and can step up to heavier uses) Good luck!

Looking for a shorter MH
Have the p5 Super Destroyer and recommend it. It will work perfect for what you want to do with it - texas rigs, jigs, occasional frog - this rod is in my opinion the ultimate kayak rod. It is powerful - but not too heavy. Balance is spot on with a Steez Sv Tw. It fishes more moderate than the other two, in a JDM Bass rod style - set the hook faster than you normally would with an extra fast rod. This rod will excel in any single hook application for its rating. Plenty sensitive and ultra versatile.

What's your favorite 1/2-3/4oz Jig /bottom contact rod?
There certainly is a big jump... Fishing the Conquest 905c I have thrown 1/2 jigs with trailers and it can do it - not the best for 1/2ounce but 3/4 + trailer it does well at. - 905c is big and powerful compared to the 4 weights the rating jumps to 3/4-3 ounces! That said - once you hook into one on the 905 - you have more than enough power to steer big bass. Throwing 3/4 to 1.5 oz + trailer? the NRX 895 is rated 3/8 - 1 ounce Throwing these I would step up to the Conquest 905c which would handle these better and better balanced The conquest 905 is rated 3/4-3 ounces. I throw heavy jigs with big trailers ranging from 3/4 to 2+ total ounces on this setup with 50lb test braid and thick heavy wire hooks - handles these lures fine and gives enormous hook setting power / fish control

Steez AGS "The One" vs NRX 901 or 902
Yw. Another concern I had before getting the Steez - The rod is manufactured in China - Really hated that, but glad I got past it and got it anyways - This rod is the epitome of precision and versatility. You will be glad you got it. Mine balances flawlessly with a Ballistic 3000 (same red accents)

Steez AGS "The One" vs NRX 901 or 902
"The One" is in my opinion the better rod here... Not only will I choose it over the 901 / 902 but also over the 852 and 872 or any NRX + I have fished 901 /902 NRX and NRX + and 852 NRX / NRX+ (Own NRX+ 852) It is true to its weight range - and although 1/16 oz it might not cast as far as the 901, it can fling small weights good distances. On the heavier side though - 3/4 ounces it handles just fine and in my opinion - it is more sensitive in bottom contact than any of the NRX + Most finesse weights of 1/8-1/4 the steez handles better and casts just as far, if not farther than the NRX+ When it comes to battling bigger fish (20+ inch smallmouth, 22+inch Fluke, Big largemouth bass) - The Steez has enormous power - more so in my opinion than any of the NRX 2 power and even 3 power for that matter. One concern I had when I got the rod when it came out was the AGS guides potentially being fragile... They have held up just fine. The One - Steez compile X is in my opinion an absolute HOME RUN of a rod - the only things I don't like about it are the red accents and the cork is not the best (whatever) But as far as fishing performance it is second to non - it can live up to it's name - "The One" In my hands it feels lighter, better balanced, and more sensitive than the NRX and NRX+ I REALLY Like the NRX + as well... but I have to recommend the Steez - One more bonus - you should save some money as well while getting the better rod!
