  1. Thats because the basspro website stinks and they must not know too much about bass fishing. They should have them in a stickbait category. They are also missing a swimbait category
  2. Cool. I am still surprised that no one seems to be talking about these after all the hype. I figured they would be good for bed fishing, so now is definitely the time to start using them.
  3. Yeah they are really slow attackers and usually don't catch up to the lure, usually they will just follow it in, but this guy was fast enough. They don't really fight hard.
  4. saltwater catfish
  5. I remember how psyched-up people were when these first came out, but I never heard of anyone catching anything on them or even using them. If anyone has any feedback on them I would be interested in hearing it.
  6. Florida gar, about 28 inches:
  7. Wow, I agree with the director on conservation that the bass anglers would be the biggest help, all they need is to be educated on the threat.
  8. I've got the shore fishing hookup -- its a backpack medium binder sold separately Nice spot for bags of plastics that can't fit in the binder
  9. I like them alright. I think a Single-colorado spinnerbait is more productive, but yes chatterbaits work.
  10. Ah hah! http://www.northcarolinasportsman.com/details.php?id=85 This explains it
  11. I'll bet that there is still a good amount of salinity in that water. That's pretty cool that the dam made a fishery like that.
  12. For hadbaits my best colors are any bait fish color, and especially any lure that is a little translucent.
  13. Man it looks cold up there. That is a big one man thanks for sharing
  14. All I can say is that is SICK.
  15. those would be my last 3 choices anyways, I spend a lot on tackle, but I'm going to try and help you out. Rattle Trap: 4$ S.K.: 5$ Rapala: 3$ Bass Pro XPS rattle shad: 4$ I have 2 XPS rattle shads in some weird colors. I have caught fish on them, they run pretty well, and have a good action. I think thats your best low priced bet.
  16. Mark Sosin's Saltwater Journal rules! 8-) but every bass fisherman still uses the word plug from time to time
  17. I am really starting to like this Optimum AC plug minnow 7 inch. I have only fished it once and the result was a legit 5 pounder. I'm saying its my favorite because it has the best action I have ever seen on a medium sized swimbait (which is all I use). It is a sick wake bait (which is how I caught my one fish) and maintains the same action about 3-6 inches under.
  18. Thats funny
  19. Thats interesting. I've been on a C-rig craze recently, trying to get better with it. I have also been looking for a good lure to use with it. How does the hula rig stay up when you C-rig it? Do you just drag it and not worry whether or not its just dragging in the mud?
  20. Thats awesome thanks guys. I can't believe I haven't ever used these yet!
  21. "Other" is going to win because jigs are a pretty good lure...
  22. O.k. so I bought some Yamamoto 5' hula grubs. Using a football head would be stupid for me because I live in Florida. I stripped down a half ounce Boo Jig (flippin weed cutting design) and am wondering if these are a good bait to fish up and down. Oh yeah, are these a good casting lure to drag either with a weedless jig, or T-rigged?
  23. You guys just opened a huge argument with a lot of inshore fishermen that my uncle fishes and hangs out with. The cajun red line was popular for a little while and some people actually believed the gimmick, truth is just look at that line in clear water. It is almost as visible as braid.
  24. a strong 3 pounder, but it had about 2 feet of braid coming out of its bum, must of had the lure still inside of her and could only pass the line.
  25. whenever a ton of people are fishing the same ponds... I get skunked on these ponds a lot during the spawn because every golfer is fishing. This is when I call up buddies with boats!!
