I get what your saying. I can feel a fish fart within a few feet of my rod. But not everyone is like us, and a lot of guys are slob fisherman like you described. I won't eat bass, so I do everything I can not to kill them. A stringer of trout looks good to me. A stringer of bass just ticks me off. Just my .02

I think the Tatula SV is a great reel for beginning fisherman. They really are d**n near impossible to backlash.

For bass? No way man. That's a great way to have a hook swallowed. I only use nightcrawlers for fish I intend to kill.

That's similar to the reason I hate the Tatula. I let the line run over my index finger on my left hand. This causes the line to push up slightly. Then on the retrieve the T-wing wont spool the line evenly. I don't understand the Curado issue though. Are you sticking a finger under the reel or something? I have no idea how someone could hit the side plate lever at all?

I just burn mine with old tires. Seriously though, I'm at Sportsman's Warehouse a few times a week. They have a drop off there. Regardless of what they do with it, I do my part.

I'd go with the Fuego. If you want to spend more I'd get a Curado.

I use that same E6X rod. Mine is paired with a Daiwa BG 2500. So far I love it, but I'm a Loomis homer. I've only fished wackys on it so far. Great rod.

I've got a couple of President's & Trion's. Their OK. I've never fished a Revros but they sure feel nice in the store. For that price range it would be the one I would buy. Eventually all my reels will be Shimano & Daiwa. YMMV.
