  1. No better way to find out!
  2. Considering this thread is pushing 4 pages, apparently it's an interesting topic of conversation. Why bother having this forum at all since we have the web?
  3. I sold a Tatula to buy one. Best gear decision I've made in awhile.
  4. I love 1500 series reels. As long as they balance on the rod their on I've never felt undergunned with one.
  5. Glasses are good for more than just UV protection. My buddies Dad lost an eye jerking on a snagged line. He took a 3/4 oz chunk of lead right into his eye. Bad things can happen fast.
  6. I have the IMX-PRO 853c. I love it. Unfortunately that's all I can add since I haven't fished any of the other rods on your list. But I can say you won't go wrong with the Loomis.
  7. I recently picked up a BG 2500. I liked it enough that it passed up my Sahara. I have an older model Exceler 1500 that is also a fantastic reel. But I'll replace it with a BG 1500 as well as soon as I see one for the right price.
  8. I much prefer my Fuego to the Tatula I had. They feel the same even with the lack of the 2 extra bearings. And the T wing is just a gimmick. I have a 6' spinning rod for skipping baits.
  9. I added it to my watch list
  10. I've got a 2500. I love it. Off to check out the 1500!
  11. 15 1/2??? Wow, that's surprising.
  12. Here in Oregon it's 12lb 1.6 oz. Of the 8 record Oregon largemouths, 5 of them were caught within an hour of my house. 3 of them at the same lake. I caught the one in my avatar at one of those lakes. I think this year will bring more nighttime swimbait fishing..... What is your state record?
  13. That's what I was curious about with this thread. If people differentiated between a "topwater" rod & a "frog" rod.
  14. @Burros is right. I had a Tatula SV. It isn't half the reel the Shimano is.
  15. You wouldn't believe the crap I get from my son over it "You'll spend two grand on a scope, but you won't buy a $10 reel cover".
  16. A 2 pack of dollar store black cotton socks. Enough for 4 reel covers. Cut a hole in the toe end to slide over the butt of the rod. Just slide the open end over the reel.
  17. It says right on the bottle that it works on braid.
