  1. G Loomis, Lamiglas & St Croix. I am becoming fond of Dobyn's as well.
  2. $18 for 165 yards of mono? Yeah I'll pass too.
  3. Both rods are $100 for the warranty service. $100 shipped for the Loomis, $80 + $20 shipping for the Dobyns.
  4. ALFC has "make best offer" on most if not all of their Dobyns rods on the bay.
  5. I love my IMX-PRO. But then again I don't have to pay retail for Loomis either.
  6. I owned both. I knew the SV was designed for lighter baits. But I didn't think it wouldn't cast heavy baits very well either. If I need to cast light baits I'll use spinning gear, problem solved. The Fuego casts a mile, is really smooth, and doesn't have that T wing crap. I still prefer my Curado over the Fuego. But if I needed a cheaper reel I'd buy another Fuego in a heartbeat. The T wing gimmick is a deal breaker for me and the Tatula series. I know this opinion gets a few here really pissy, but the t wing really accomplishes nothing.
  7. That's how I do it too. I just kinda feather the line with my off hand at the end of a cast.
  8. For less money the Fuego CT is a better reel than the Tatula.
  9. I don't know anything about the Cabela's branded rods. I have the above-mentioned rod and the Fury swimbait rod. They really are nice for the price and they have a lifetime warranty. The whole Fury line is full of technique specific rods in both casting and spinning.
  10. There's a lot of love here for the Dobyns Fury 735 for frogging.
  11. I'm still using a Abu Garcia 4600cb that I bought in the late 80's. It's had the drag washers replaced a few times and a bearing upgrade. It's solid.
  12. I've fished Loomis rods since the LCI days. I can't recommend a particular UL rod, but you won't go wrong with Loomis.
  13. They usually do. Welcome to the world wide web! I like the way it's gone, a lot of insight from guys and their home state chase.
  14. I used to every few years. This year I went a little crazy, 4 new rods & 3 or 4 new reels. And I don't think I'm done yet
  15. It's only for certain sellers. Go into the offer details and they'll have them listed. The coupon is good until 4/30. EDIT: Check ALFC. With the code the Curado K is 119.96 shipped!
  16. $75 is about the going price. They get to the $60 ish range on Amazon & eBay. I'm in no hurry, my Excelor is still chugging right along.
