  1. I can't walk and chew gum at the same time. Spinnerbaits are trickier. I have to switch hands while the bait is still in the air. But it's second nature now too. Find what works best for you and go fishing!
  2. Probably no "bonus" to switching, but there are no drawbacks either. At least not for me. I've done if for so long it's just a fluid motion now. Plus I like casting with my right hand. I have more control over it. This is just what works for me.
  3. I had a Tatula and didn't care for it. I have a Fuego CT that I can recommend without reservation. I have a Curado K on the way, hopefully today. I can give more of an opinion after I try it.
  4. Where are you finding a BB2 for 60 bones?
  5. I've always just switched hands, that's how I learned to cast. I tried a left hand for a while but it just felt too weird after all these years. Funny thing though, I reel with my left hand with spinning gear.
  6. I still have my first 4600 CB that I bought around 86 or so. It even still sits on my first good rod, a LCI. It's long been retired, but I still take it out a couple times a year. I also have some 4600 C3's that I used to use for steelhead. I'm going to use one of them as a secondary reel for my 735C for fishing small swimbaits. I also have a Cardiff 300 on my main swimbait rod.
  7. Dude, you need to go fishing or something
  8. Not really. What I'm saying is the guys using fast reels on frog rods aren't blowing them up at some alarming rate. Not good reels anyways. Otherwise there would be 100 threads on it
  9. I'm not sure if this is the right section for this, but I wanted to pass this along. Right now Sportsman's Warehouse is having a BOGO sale on the P Line CXX. With free ship to store if you're near one this is a smoking deal!
  10. I've been using 20lb Ande for the last few years. I haven't broke off any fish or baits yet. I also don't cast any over 4-5 oz either.
  11. It's a suntech 2 bait cast reel
  12. I seriously doubt that any quality fast reel is going to be more fragile than the same reel in a slower gear ratio. If people were blowing up 8.1 Tatulas frogging but the 6.3's weren't having issues people would know about it.
  13. I bought the 7' MH casting rod. I planned on using it for frogs. I ended up giving it to my son & bought a Dobyns 735. It did seem like a decent rod for the price though (I paid $22).
  14. Yes, it was set correctly. I already have a thread on here about the Tatula, I just gave the OP my opinion of the two reels. I don't want to derail his thread
  15. I've bought both in the last couple of weeks. They sure seem pretty similar other that the T-wing. I already sold the Tatula, I much preferred the Fuego. It casts an easy 15-20 yards further than the Tatula SV TW using the same line, rod & lure. In my opinion the T-wing is just a gimmick, a solution to a non-existent problem.
  16. I've bought 2 Fury rods this year. The lifetime warranty sealed the deal for me.
  17. 8.1+ You can always slow down but you can't go faster.
  18. It sounds like you already have the rod figured out. I picked up a Daiwa Fuego CT 8.1 yesterday. It's a d**n good reel for the price. It actually casts further than my SV TW with the same baits, line and rod. It's going on a Fury 735 for my frog rod.
  19. Ah gotcha! I misunderstood what you said. My apologies Tom! I might even give it another chance tomorrow. Or just throw it on my frog rod.
