  1. Favorite: Loomis E6X 842 SJR with a Sahara 2500 2nd: Tatula 610MXS with a BG 2500 3rd: Dobyns Sierra 692 with a BG 2500 All 3 have 15lb J braid 8.
  2. I've got to second this. Try it and eliminate all doubt.
  3. I know the sensitivity of my IMX-PRO blows my Sierra and Tatula rods out of the water. I'm pretty sure the components are better too. Most importantly, to me, are the paychecks to Americans in Woodland Washington. I guarantee you the QC is better than anything coming out of China. Plus there's a lot of money on this forum. $400 doesn't mean the same thing to everybody ?
  4. Do you like to drive a Chevette or a Corvette?
  5. That's my thought. I bought a 8.5 Sundolphin. I want to keep mine as light as possible. I just want to be able to huck it into the back of the truck and go. If I'm going to have to deal with a trailer I'll take my 14' Jon boat.
  6. I'm a recent convert to braid. I had a little less than 1/2 a spool left over that I didn't know what to do with. BOOM, I forgot about my ultralight!
  7. I use a couple of these. I like to be able to take my seats out for duck season.
  8. Tagging this thread
  9. Maybe their tooling isn't set up for it? Just a guess.
  10. I appreciate all the replies. I guess it's not just me! I'm at 3 spinning rigs in the boat and 4 baitcasters. I might have to get a MH spinner just to even it out. I'll find a reason to use it :D
  11. Do you keep your hook sharpened?
  12. I started using it last month. So far I love it, no problems at all. I use a Lefty Kreh knot.
  13. They absolutely are different tools in the toolbox. But I sure am having fun with these light line techniques. Tom, I believe you're spot on. There is huge fun factor. I caught a 2 lb SM that felt like a 5 lb LM
  14. It'll never happen to me either (giving up my baitcasters). My Loomis 853 JWR is my go to. And my frog, crankbait and swimbait rod are all baitcasters. Plus i'm nowhere as accurate with a spin rod. This is my first go around with braid on spinning setups and I honestly think that's whats causing such an interest right now. The main thing I always hated was the line management issues. With braid, they're gone.
  15. I've always carried just one "do all" spinning rod. A couple of years ago I upgraded to a E6X 852 SJR. I like it a lot and it does what I need it to, mostly weightless plastics, Neko rigs and some lighter topwater stuff. Last month I picked up a Dobyns Sierra 692S and put a BG 2500 on it. It quickly became my dedicated Ned rod. Then last week I bought a Tatula 6'10" M/XF. It's also sporting a BG 2500. I really like this setup and it'll most likely become my dedicated drop shot rod. Both of these are spooled with 15lb J8. Now i'm catching myself looking at MH spinning rods. Has anyone else been a lifetime baitcaster fisherman and found themselves gravitating towards spinning setups?
  16. Actually, it sounds like a noodle rod.
  17. That's what I do. Then a sale comes and I dawdle around and before I know it, it's sold out....
  18. No, it's the Mach series not the Mach 2. IM7 instead of IM8. I can pick one up with a buddies discount for $44. I think it would match up great with my spare Sahara 1500.
  19. I was looking at these today. Looks like it would be a great dedicated Ned rod. Can anyone here give me some feedback on them?
  20. For the tree lined spots I can't get a boat into I have a 6' SC Premier M/F with a Daiwa Exceler.
