  1. Someone here posted up a while back about the Fiskars kids scissors. I bought a pair and they work great. A few weeks back there were 10 of them in the clearance section at Walmart for .50 each. I bought them all. I should be good for a few seasons!
  2. Maybe wait a couple of weeks for the BPS/Presidents day sales?
  3. I picked up a 7' ML/F SC Avix X for $119 today.
  4. I heard a radio ad that a local sporting goods store had "select St Croix rods up to 60% off". I figured I'd take a look on lunch. It was mostly salmon/steelhead stuff & Triumph rods. The last one on the rack was a Avid X ML/F spinning rod. $119.97 out the door ?
  5. Yes, Bass Pro bought Sportsman's. I'm still not sure what to think of that. Time will tell I guess...
  6. I've used my 842s SJR with 1/15 jig heads. It worked fine but I've since dedicated my Dobyns 692s to Ned rigs.
  7. My Helium will be here tomorrow. I heard about the blank change after I had ordered and it already shipped the same day. I sent an email asking about my rod and was told it was built on a NFC blank. Looking at the website now it looks like all the clearance 2020 rods are gone. Glad I got one for the price that I did.
  8. It's easier for me to slow down. I went with a 7.4. My last two baitcasters are both 8.1.
  9. MAYBE I CAN REDEEM MYSELF
  10. Haha, I'm an idiot ? Yes it's a Daiwa combo.
  11. I know that Shimano makes a 7' medium light salt water combo that comes with the BG2500. I'd start there if it was me.
  12. Have you actually hooked yourself lipping a bass?
  13. I saw some of those today. Interesting looking bait. Have you tried them?
  14. Same here. Even during the spawn, nada...
  15. Well..... Plot twist. I ended up buying a Kistler Helium HE733LMH. Actually I bought a KLX in the same action last night. Then I sent an email asking about the differences between the two. After a couple of emails this morning I decided to upgrade to the Helium. I was told that since it was my first Kistler they'd sell it to me for the same price as the KLX. I think I did OK for $219.
  16. I finally had time to go back with my reel. I instantly hated the grip on the M1. I love the rod, it felt great, but the grip just didn't fit. My fingers felt jammed between the reel nut & the trigger. I just couldn't get a comfortable grip on it. The Feather on the other hand felt great. Light, balanced and the grip was much better. Now to decide which length to go with. 6'9", 7'1" or 7'7"......
  17. I do mine on a pellet grill, so no flare ups. And yes, that's usually how I do my ducks too.
  18. Fillet the breasts off the breastbone. Then slice them about 3/8" thick. Soak them overnight in salt water. Slice jalapenos in half & fill with cream cheese. Wrap the breast around it and then wrap a piece of bacon around the whole popper. Stick a toothpick through it to hold it together. Season with what you like. Cook them hot and fast just until the bacon is done. Any waterfowl cooked past rare is burnt. Or cube the breasts, brown them with salt, pepper, garlic & cumin and use it in chili. Just don't ever overcook duck or goose or it's nasty....
  19. I planned on taking the reel down to the store and seeing how it felt on both rods. They also have a few different lengths so it'll help with that decision too.
  20. I will update when I decide which one to go with. Decisions decisions.
  21. Thanks guys. I'm looking for a rod that fishes a little softer than my 853c IMX-Pro. If the MH runs close to a medium one of these might be the ticket. Plus I found a new Fuego CT in the garage that I forgot about. I hate to see it an orphan
  22. I was checking these out today, they both seem like nice rods. I've read that they fish a little lighter than their rating. Who's used these and what's your opinion on them?
  23. No need to. One is a 735c for frogs and the other is a 795sb. Sensitivity doesn't really come into play for what I use them for.
