  1. Nope. It only happens with the T wing. Palming a reel has never been difficult for me, even back with the old Garcia 5000's. The Daiwa isn't difficult to palm. It's a good reel. But the line doesn't spool correctly when it lifts out of the eye. Which is impossible to have happen with a conventional eye. Some of you guys are making way more out of this than what my experience is with this reel.
  2. Nothing to figure out really. I have a Fuego coming tomorrow. I'll probably order a Curado as well. ?
  3. For actual pocket carry I like my 642.
  4. If I'm not at work I'm carrying. What depends on how I'm dressed at the time. But it's usually either a 642, Shield or a full sized M&P 2.0.

  6. Glad you're OK man. I shoot 3 gun & USPSA. Gun safety is of HUGE importance to me. If it were me, I'd have knocked his teeth down his throat. And on the other hand, it sounds like lack of situational awareness on your behalf. How was someone handling a weapon behind you on the firing line? I'm not beating up on you, it's just there are idiots everywhere.... Like the clown with a loaded gun behind the firing line. You always have to watch for that guy. Again, I'm glad you're OK!
  7. I can't speak for the crankbait rods but I have a Loomis IMX-Pro 853 JWR. I love this line of rods.
  8. Like I said, first world problems! I started bass fishing back in the late 70's. I picked up holding my reel this way off an old Rick Clunn or Bill Dance video. It's just ingrained muscle memory now. I started this way to help with the inferior rod technology back then, and now if I hold a reel a different way it just feels weird.
  9. The t wing. I've been using baitcasters for a long time.
  10. That's what I'm doing. I'll sell the reel and get another Fuego. They work for me. I'm keeping the G Loomis IMX-PRO that it's on though
  11. I finally got out with my new Tatula today. It's smooth and casts beautifully. But since I started with baitcasters about 35 years ago I run the line over my index finger on my left hand. It still works, but it doesn't spool the line evenly. I know, first world problems
  12. What is that, Velcro?
  13. I've never had any trouble with 10 lb Sufix Elite.
  14. I recently picked up 2 Fury rods, a 735C & a 795SB. I have to say that they are some of the nicest rods I've seen at that price point. I think a 734C would be perfect for what you're after.
  15. Do a web search for schematics, their out there. Leftover parts are no good..
  16. Shipping rates don't mean much to me. I run a warehouse so I pay commercial rates Back to the rods though, I was also able to handle a Mojo. I liked the feel of the Dobyns better. Not that it means much since I wasn't able to fish both of them.
  17. I had a similar thread to this one. I had narrowed it down to the Tatula or the Dobyns. I went with the Dobyns for a couple of reasons. First, I called Dobyns to ask a few questions and they were very helpful. Second, and most important to me was the lifetime warranty.
  18. I bought almost all new gear for this year. I didn't replace my old Sahara though.
  19. No one has mentioned the Dobyns Fury 735C?
  20. Would the Dobyns Fury 765 Flip fit into this discussion? Edit: NM, just talked to the guys at Dobyns. They don't recommend this rod for frogging.
