I like these folks pretty good too -

Favorite Color Lizard
Very interesting color choices. I definitely have some experimenting to do.

Favorite Color Lizard
I've had a lot of success with green pumpkin Zoom Lizards. Years ago I had pretty good success with a solid white lizard, but I haven't fished any in a long time and now my memory doubts if they are as good as I recollect. I've had limited success with cotton candy, black/chartreuse black/blue lizards, and so far, just about 0 success with junebug. Well, what colors should I consider? Should I dote on white again? What about solid black? Would that do any better than the black with colored tail?

Do you believe in a lucky rod/reel/lure?
I believe it's confidence. When you have that magic lure, you focus more on working it. It's been said that when you're not doing so well, you tend to fish faster, and or technique tends to be slack. I find this to be true of me.

Newbie to jerkbaits, looking for recommendations that arent Megabass
I'm not much of a jerkbait man, but I want to learn them. My buddy does pretty good with a Husky Jerk in glass minnow color. I've caught a few on them myself on heavily pressured waters.

What Are You Spinning?
Hey, thanks!

What have you lost over the side?
That is rough. I haven't lost anything overboard... but granted I don't spend a lot of on a boat. However, of the few times I ran my boat, I almost lost my Leatherman PST original overboard. I have since procured a nice pair of $1 needle nose pliers to use for such occasions. Leatherman will stay safely in my pocket unless it's an absolute must.

What Are You Spinning?
I like Larry Sparks pretty good, and Doyle Lawson is okay. Those are the only ones I can think of right off hand. For regular bluegrass I like Flatt and Scruggs, with Foggy Mountain Breakdown being my favorite. We don't have a bluegrass station here anymore, all we get is an hour or two on the weekends. Odd, because I'm just up the road from Rosine, where Bill Monroe is from. I remember years back there was a bluegrass station we listened to all day every day at work, but it's been so long I don't really remember. Aint been a bluegrass station on the air for 20 years here. There is my favorite song, though it is southern gospel rather than bluegrass -

Help needed for techniques
I'd use it for crankbaits. 12 or 15 pound line depending on my notion and conditions. I'd also not mind it being 6'6", but I like a shorter rod too.

What Are You Spinning?
I don't do records at all, though I have in the past. My preference for music is Bluegrass, Southern Gospel, and old Hymns.

Hello guys
Howdy Tim from Kentucky. I'm mostly Largemouth bass, and most always Kentucky.

How many of you troll?
I've never trolled. It's not something of interest to me. I have a saying regarding fishing with live bait - "I'd rather get skunked than cheat." I say it half in jest, but honestly, most times I'd rather get skunked than fish in a way other than the way that suits me that day. I do break out the worms on occasion with my boy, but it's less fun.

Who still fishes from the bank?
I fish primarily from the bank. I have taken my boat out a few times but I can't say I like it any better. It presents it's own set of burdens.

Shallow Crankbait Suggestions
I like the H20X 1/4 square bill.

How many lures catch 80% of your bass?
For me it's: Zoom Finesse, weightless, 1/16oz bullet weighted, or splitshot Square bill crankbait spinnerbait including walking baits curly tail grubs, mostly with 1/16oz bullet weight and an offset shank hook

Learning about Kayaks.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I have done some research, and I'm still thinking on it. I tend to think on things for years before I make a decision. I am also considering giving the idea up and just resigning myself the bank or my bass buster. I don't know that I enjoy the boating aspect of fishing at all honestly.

Learning about Kayaks.
Thanks. I'm not in the market for one yet, I'm still researching it. I will likely go with outriggers no matter what I do though because of my balance issues.

The Found Lures Thread
Thanks. I've never tried it... yet. BPS advertises the hooks as being scratchless to the paint on the packaging.

How late do you still throw frogs and toads?
Thank you everyone for sharing! Thank you bluebasser! That's awesome.

I bet that one tasted good.
Lots of interesting perspectives, thanks all for sharing.

How late do you still throw frogs and toads?
Thanks for the tips all. I saw an Ott Defoe video where he said he throws a toad just about year round, even in open water. Similar to the way others would throw a paddletail grub. He said he does pretty good with it, and it's something that the fish probably don't see a lot.

How late do you still throw frogs and toads?
I been wanting to try some toad lures, you know those soft plastic ones you rig with a EWG hook. But it dawned on me, it might just be getting kinda late for them. How late do you throw frogs and toads? What about a warm winter day, worth a shot?

Hard vs. soft jerkbaits?
I consider soft jerkbaits to be more of a throw in the slop kind of lure though I fish them in open water too. I fish them everywhere.

I bet that one tasted good.
I don't care for strong fish flavor. I like as little as possible. I prefer those Cap'n D's Giant fish sandwiches. Man!

I bet that one tasted good.
I have a buddy that’s eaten several bass. He said some are really good and some taste like mud, that it depends on where ya catch them. If I kill one from gut hooking I’ll eat it. I ate one last year. It tasted okay, somewhat fishy.
