  1. Not sure i understand. You're saying that every time the reel has a buzzing sound, its related to the bearing and not the gears?
  2. Its not the Xship bearing. yes, shimano has the other issue (another ding at shimano's reliablity) with this particular bearing, but gear sound is unique, and you simply cannot mix it with a messy bearing. Just watching random youtube vids, you see plenty of people with a super buzzy gear set when using shimanos. Reminds me of the first gen Tatulas which were buzzing more than a bee, but at least those reels were cheap. This sounds more like a dry gear set than a worn one.
  3. It might not bother you, so you aren't really noticing it. I honestly don't know what else it could be. Gears are all the same, and i am certainly nowhere near the only one that complains about them.
  4. I am not pushing Daiwa, no. I am pushing the Zillion, best bang per buck ever made.😊 And anyone in-the-know does the same, so i ain't a unique snowflake in that matter. And the only way your MM gears don't go buzzy and grindy, is if you use your reel for presentations that have zero pull on the line, things such as jerkbaitin'. This is not a matter of opinion either, Shimano has a secondary market at reselling gear sets because they're made to last 1 year. Have a peek at swimbait forums to find out how well those Anteres MD's hold up😐 I fully expect the gear set on my brand new 24 Met DC to die this year, or mid next season if i use a bunch of spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, etc. And if i were to frog/flip with it, OOOOOOOF.
  5. Also gotta add, micro module+reliability=no bueno.
  6. Sounds like nothing else but marketing. There's a ton of low diameter lines already.
  7. Would never suggest you to buy anything Boca. They're nothing but overpriced garbage that are noisier than $3 bearings on Ali. If you want spool+side plate bearing, and you're looking for cheap ceramic hybrids, i'd grab these https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004851026485.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.5.121dK2wxK2wxUd&algo_pvid=d09f4afb-c771-499a-90a0-608fbc026d97&algo_exp_id=d09f4afb-c771-499a-90a0-608fbc026d97-2&pdp_ext_f={"order"%3A"281"%2C"eval"%3A"1"}&pdp_npi=4%40dis!CAD!5.49!3.62!!!3.73!2.46!%402101efeb17378183356824724e3bab!12000030743169791!sea!CA!753774228!X&curPageLogUid=CtIcMi0KSGfX&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch|query_from%3A If you want higher end stuff, Hedgehog bearings, be it metal of ceramic hybrids, they're all amazing.
  8. They're made in Thailand, its a Tat, you ain't gonna find one made in Japan. I was referring to where you should be buying them for sub $150, which is always in Japan.
  9. I don't know about the Curado being reliable. In random fishing vids on youtube, i've seen many people losing the thumb bar while fishing. Don't believe i've even seen this happening on a single other reel. And those gear sets become pepper grinders real quick.
  10. I mean, the Tat 100 and Tat 80 from Japan are way under $150, and i'd say they're much better than Lews offerings.
  11. I mean, you're right, i'd say most people do care about TW. But that's only because almost all of them don't order anything from Japan. People that do order reels and most tackle from Japan, the only thing TW serves them for, is to be reminded how many hundreds of bucks they've saved by ordering abroad😁
  12. Honestly, who cares about what's on TW? Everyone in the know purchases their reels for the cheapest price possible, not the inflated ones on TW. If you're buying from Japan, those $750 reels are significantly cheaper, and much closer to Abu offerings. Not to mention that over half a grand for an Abu is 😆
  13. Makes me wonder for how much the HD can be had directly while being in Japan, when its already cheap through amazon for $240.
  14. No, just Abu in particular because they're part of the "big 3".
  15. I don't want to say that Abus are overpriced, but i have to say that they're well overpriced😁 When Shimano and Daiwa exist, what is the point of going with Abu? They don't offer a single product that is superior to the other two, their higher end reels are as expensive as Japan Made Shimanos and Daiwas, they don't retain their value in the used market, and because of the low yen, Shimanos and especially Daiwas can be had for crazy deals. How is Abu Garcia surviving against these two?
  16. I'd bet money he doesn't spend more than 15 days on the water a year. And when he is on the water, don't expect 8h+ of fishing, but more like 2-4h. He doesn't seem to be like someone who fishes much at all.
  17. The reel is super popular on reddit, tackletour and youtube comments as well.
  18. I hope nobody in here got influenced by googan squad, and bought their rods🤡
  19. Next time you see him, tell him to get his ass back making videos.
  20. Really? Entertainment is entertainment. sure agree about tackleadvisors. By far the best fishing channel on youtube.
  21. Now that i got your full attention😅, how do you all feel about youtubers (him and others) suggestions? Have you purchased a reel or a rod because of a youtube content creator? If so, who?
  22. Just bought the previous version back in November. While the rod feels very powerful, haven't had the time to properly test its sensitivity, and the rod is kinda tip heavy. The newer ones sure look better, tho. I would assume they're made in China, and not in Japan like 2 gens ago?
  23. $233 for THIS is laughably good. What have we ever seen being a better deal when it comes to baitcasters? I can't think of a single reel that is this good, and this cheap. Not only is it a good base, but its a tuned version, while still ultra cheap. And people are buying Curados🤣
  24. Never ordered one from amazon because japanese auctions have all what i would ever need. But if you're not into that, the japanese amazon seems great for the zill and the zill hd.
