  1. The Expride has a stronger blank, so i'd get that. The XX explodes too easily.
  2. My best guess is that it was already noisy, because a years old Tat is like a 1 years old micro module shimano, it'll buz harder than a bee. If you have other Tats, swap gear sets to see if the buz can be transfered to another Tat. Getting a new pair of gears will most likely fix the issue.
  3. Was it a known place, or some no name spot the guy accepted reels for a cleanup? Only for the spool and side plate bearings. No reason to do so on internal bearings unless they're crunchy and need cleaning.
  4. I'd grab the zillion hd and be done with it.
  5. Boca has a pair like this. I personally did not like em at all. Spool pins that are tightly fitted, these pliers can deal some damage to the spool shaft, especially on the rc-001 and rc-002 zpi spools that are full magnesium. Much prefer the SLP Works tool, the one from KTF is also great.
  6. Just get one from aliexpress. Don't buy the cheapo one, but the one from Gomexus for example is pretty good. Do you happen to have a picture for that tool?
  7. Used the steez ct, incredible frame/reel. Met dc 70 still being delivered to me, so haven't had the chance of using it. But yes, all Mets made since 2020 are the same, and the only difference in size is the few mm bigger side plate on the met dc 70 and spool capacity.
  8. I do once a year since 2015-2016.
  9. I got the MH black lable and two legit design rods as well. Barely had the time to use the Black Label, but loved the flex on the cast. Haven't had the chance to try the two legit design rods, its snowing. Have you tried any of the Triza's?
  10. These rods look pretty clean, but not much info floating around.
  11. If you want something as cheap as possible, but at the same time you want it to feel and last just like a premium $400 reel, i'd suggest to get the Alphas. If you can get to $200-220, the Zillion all the way.
  12. I don't know how it is with Shimano, but i've had the same thing happen with a 4pc rod from Megabass, and they didn't allow me to purchase just the tip, which sucks. My love toward the company was lowered by 15% that day😭
  13. The best spool that i have tried that is ultra against birds nests is the original SS SV spool. It has a tall inductor that overbrakes, but messing up line on that thing is close to impossible.
  14. I broke my first rod (the tip) while un-hooking a shad during the american shad run we had in Spring. The first rod i break in about 15 years. Still haven't recovered because i really liked the d**n rod, and warranty ain't covering it.
  15. If you haven't tried the Zillion, forget about every other reel, and get the JDM version through amazon jp for $200.
  16. Not seeing the point. If you use mono and a shakespeare glass rod from Walmart for $30, it will most likely help, but i am not seeing this being helpful with a quality rod. Not to mention that i only use braid to fluro leader, so feeling the bottom isn't taking much.
  17. Alphas air was $150 on plat for months. That would've been the best of the best for the money, but it looks like the sale finally ended.
  18. It isn't, the zillion is still cheaper through amazon japan. There is also the fact that the bantam is a tank that weights half a ton, so not especially great for many applications and the scorpion dc, which i had this summer, is a very bleh reel (in my opinion that is). Literally sold it within 5-7 days of use because it felt very low end.
  19. That's the thing, just like the Tatula 300, they're just too bottom of the barrel to me. I want something higher end, and the Bantam seems perfect for a 300 size. I have had the calcut300 a few years back. Good reel, but much prefered my Z2020 for anything heavy, so i sold it. Looking for something high end and low profile.
  20. Not sure. The JDM version is so much cheaper that i honestly don't pay attention to the USDM one.
  21. Palms much better. Its similar to the bantam and 2020 met if you tried these two.
