I demand a 200-300 size Shimano Bantam

Featured Replies

Why don't we have one? I know they've just announced the Scorpion MD, but that's a Scorpion, not a fan. The current Bantam is solid, compact and smooth. A 200, 250 or a 300 size Bantam frame could be an amazing swimbait reel, but we don't have one for some reason. If they were to make one, its the only reel i see competing with my Z2020.

Eh i ain't getting it. If after all this time it hasn't happened, it won't happen. They probably don't want to do it because if they were to release one in 200 size, nobody would even consider the antares md.

Maybe they figure it is already covered by the Tranx series of reels?

Meh, the Tranx is just like the Scorpion, they don't have this glassy feel the Bantam has.

You have a answer for everything so why ask ? Everyone knows you can't catch em without that glassy feel.

I agree. the 70 and 150 size reels are not good for all purpose fishing, they are too small. Or even bank fishing where you make really long casts.

To see if anybody else would be interested in a beefed up bantam. And its not about being able to catch or not. When you have a choice between an ultra smooth reel, and another that is just "fine", the choice is simple.

I have a 300 Bantam 100 if you need it.  I think it's a 4.7:1 ratio.

Bantam is a great all around reel at 150 size. If you need a 200 or 300 you have the Curado and Tranx lines to bridge the gap for heavier duty, swim-bait/glide bait techniques.

Heck Abu, Just fork over the dough for a Calcutta Conquest 200 - 300 and be done with it.

Or heaven forbid get a Diawa Lexa! Oh the irony and agony of making a decision.  If you want the inside skinny find a used Curado 300E or EJ.  The old school Curado greenie!

That's the thing, just like the Tatula 300, they're just too bottom of the barrel to me. I want something higher end, and the Bantam seems perfect for a 300 size.

I have had the calcut300 a few years back. Good reel, but much prefered my Z2020 for anything heavy, so i sold it. Looking for something high end and low profile.
