Best high end smooth braid
Berkley X9 is all i use, and it is very smooth, but i am sure there are smoother lines. This one is just too d**n great price to performance ratio.

Metanium thumb bar grip
Standard super glue from Gorila should hold it without any issues. Have had this done twice over the years. Just clean it with 99% alcohol before applying glue, and let the glue bond overnight.

Is the Quantum Smoke S3 worth buying at 50% off?
I don't own what i have no use for, so of course i don't own this exact model, but i know Quantum really well, its the brand i got into fishing with over 20 years ago. Back then, a shimano or a daiwa was too expensive if you had around $100 for a reel, but nowadays, this is far from being the case, so Quantum as a whole has no purpose to exist unless you can get their $150-200 reels for $50. Only then would i get it over something like a Tatula80.

What was or is your favorite baitcating reel?
Z2020 also one of my fav, and my absolute fav "large" reel.

Is the Quantum Smoke S3 worth buying at 50% off?
Honestly no thanks. A $100 Tat over it any day.

the MegaBass rod warranty process and customer service.
My only experience with their warranty is sending them vision110's with broken bills. Replaced a bunch for free and no need any receipt.

I wouldn't bother when the newer tatulas an the slx is a thing.

7:5:1 Gear Ratio for all around?
I wouldn't go over 6.8 for an all around reel. Personally love 6.3 or 6.4 for the all around reel.

Shimano Chronarch are dead
Well of course not, but i am not referring to the more casual demographic for the simple fact that... well, i'd bet money that most of them don't even use a baitcaster, let alone a $300 baitcaster. What i am referring to are folks that don't consider spending more than $100 on a fishing reel as a waste of money, and those people are pretty vocal across the socials. Never do you hear one mention the Chronarch. This line of reels have been completely deleted from everyone conversation.

Shimano Chronarch are dead
Why is that? That's a pretty broad demographic. Its not like you can have a more accurate take when it comes to higher end stuff.

Fluoro leader questions
Sunline is the Keitech of fishing line, so you go with that and forget about the rest. If Seaguar is on sale, tho, that's worth a shot as well, but not at the same price point.

Forums, youtube comments and a bit on twitter.

Shimano Chronarch are dead
They should reboot them, make em out of aluminum like the older versions, and position it to compete with the 21 zillion. Of course, the reel better be great if Shimano wants to compete with the king.

Shimano Chronarch are dead
Is it just me or these reels have completely lost their popularity? I have not seen a single person talk about the newer Chronarch models since the first month the chronarch mgl came out. Surprised they're still making them. Used to be such a popular platform back in the E and D days, but now, completely forgotten.

What was or is your favorite baitcating reel?
21 zillion will be remembered as a legendary reel just like the pixy, tdz, conquest 50, curado 50e, chronarch d and the core.

What grease and oils are you using to service baitcasters?
Been using the same few Shimano grease and Cal's grease for some time now. Tried the Daiwa 104 grease earlier this year, and its pretty good as well. What's y'all using?

What was or is your favorite baitcating reel?
Pretty easy answer, the pixy.

How is Quantum still alive?
Ah so they've been acquired eh, didn't hear that one. It is kinda weird to me that they own Lews, a similar company to Quantum, but one that i imagine is much more popular in NA, and now offers pretty high end reels as well.
-
How is Quantum still alive?
Since KVD left, i am not too sure how they're surviving. They don't offer any interesting reels and their prices aren't neccessary lower than the lower end from daiwa, shimano and lews. Who even buys them nowadays? In the early 2000's, at least they had some reels such as the Energy PT that was interesting, but you look at their lineup now, and its straight up Walmart grade shovelware. Then you look at their Smoke line going for $200, the reel that i've heard the most praise for, and i am reminded that a 21 JDM Zillion cost this much. Surprising to see 13fishing being acquired by Rapala faster than Quantum.

Daiwa Steez Warranty Repair
Would never spend money on a rod with "as we know the AGS guides can be fragile", let alone spend $400+ on a rod like that when there's plenty of titanium guides from fuji that will last you an eternity.

Do you seal the cork on your rods with a cork sealer?
That's what i use as well because i couldn't find any U-40 here in Canada.
-
Do you seal the cork on your rods with a cork sealer?
I kinda agree when cork is new. After a few seasons, not a fan.
-
Do you seal the cork on your rods with a cork sealer?
Do you protect the cork handle of your rods with a cork sealer? I personally have been doing it since 2018, and not sure why i didn't start doing so much earlier. Looks better, has a better texture and stays clean.

Best Baitcasting Reel for topwater Frogs, Whopper Plopper style baits - under $250?
wow the 5.5 ratio is sub $200 lol. when has the fishing industry ever gotten a better deal? this is ridiculous, and i don't know how Daiwa is making money on these.

Completely Unnecessary 21 Zillion
Watchout for those knobs, they scratch faster than a TDZ.
