  1. I caught a Canadian goose with a Kastmaster as it was flying mid air. Wasn't trying to catch the poor bird. Was sending bomb casts for deep water lake fishing for brown trout. Right place, right time I guess.
  2. Double San Diego is my jam
  3. That is a great idea. Keep one. The others, I am sure he would want you to use them!
  4. This is not something I would have ever expected to read today. I am dumbfounded. RIP, Sir. Prayers going out to the family.
  5. Got my package from @Siebert Outdoors! Thank you Mike! The details of these baits are incredible. I can't wait to put them to use!
  6. I have run the gamut with baitcasters, and I have narrowed it down to four depending on fishing needs. I no longer buy reels at price points. I buy what works for me, and I don't think I will ever differ from this list much in the future until something new comes along that is night and day better. Yes, I still own other reels. But if buying new or replacing, this is what they will always be: Aldebaran bfs Curado mgl 71 Bantam mgl 151 Tranx B 301
  7. I just want to catch roughly
  8. This past season I went to the extremes on both ends of the spectrum and had a lot of fun doing so. BFS and big swimbaits. I had a BFS rod in my hand probably 65% of the time. 25% of the time I was casting big baits on big rods, and the other 10% I was fishing conventional tackle. There is so much you can do with a good BFS setup, and it is so much nicer to have a casting rod in hand rather than dealing with a spinning setup and all of its nuances. With the right rod and the right reel, you can cast quite a bit of different lures. At one point I was even using my BFS rod for throwing jerkbaits and it performed great.
  9. As long as you are using the correct rod to fling the bait you are trying to cast, bfs is night and day better than spinning. I have fished down to 1/16 oz total weight as I have no need for anything smaller. The rod is the key. Ignore the ratings on the rods. Let the blanks tell you what they can cast.
  10. I don't think I have touched a spinning rod while bass fishing since purchasing my bfs setup. Better in every way imho. Biggest fish so far was 6lb 11oz on 6 lb sniper and a karashi. Handled it no problem, just had to play the fish a little longer.
  11. Mine is sent! My recipient is at the mercy now of tackle warehouse shipping times. 😁
  12. That would be a great speed for wide glides. Not so much for chop baits or multi jointed baits.
  13. I use a Curado K 201 for all my swimbaits up to 4 oz on an 8 foot Leviathan Omega Heavy. I have never been fishing with this setup and wished I had a different reel. Anything heavier than that, I would purchase either a Tranx 301 or a Calcutta 301. I run 25lb copoloy for all swimbait fishing. Plenty of line on all mentioned reels.
  14. I have a $300 truck and it was one of the best purchases I have ever made.
  15. Leviathan omega swimbait rod 🔥
  16. Very cool. Surprised to see a Clackacraft in Michigan! That boat was built about 14 miles from where I am currently sitting. And trust it will handle some waves. PNW drift boats are designed for white water. Whats the exterior color pattern on that one? You can see my North River drift boat in my profile if you click on the main pic at the top it'll open up.
  17. I am not a braid guy in general. For my BFS setups I use 6lb Sniper and 7lb Diawa Hidden FC. I like the sniper more than the Diawa line, but the Diawa is definitely tougher around cover.
