  1. Fingers crossed! I am prepared and ready with the big baits to get it done. It might be a long shot, but my goal has now become to catch the next Washington State record. I got close last year. It will probably not happen in my lifetime, but that is my goal. And no, I will not submit the fish for the record books. Catch, pic, release, repeat.
  2. I wish! It finally snowed here this week. I give it about a month or less and I should be good to go.
  3. Get rid of? I do not understand your question.
  4. The only reels I swap are spinning reels. I do not use spinning reels and rods that much, but I do have the need for spinning setups for bass and for steelhead fishing on the river. So I will float my spinning reels between the bass rods and steelhead rods as needed. All casting rods have dedicated reels that do not get swapped.
  5. I was excited until I saw the reel seats on the casting models. Unless I am wrong, doesn't look like they will play well with Shimano.
  6. I only get rid of rods I do not enjoy fishing with. And even then, usually gift to a kid in need.
  7. Karashi hands down. And itty bitty plastics.
  8. Don't know how it is possible, but literally nothing added fishing related this winter. 😐
  9. Very sorry to hear this. Your words ring true I am sure to almost every one of us.
  10. Clear lake candy, specter, and magic trout are my color choices. They all have been very productive. fyi - they can be a pain in the ass to learn how to fish. Especially the TK in glide mode.
  11. Your order must be completed by 11:59 PM PT on February 28, 2026 to receive your discount.Promotion limited to 18 items per order. 18 items gets you free shipping. I may or may not have plenty of Mayors now. 😁
  12. I'm in SW Washington and it has been one of the warmest, most mild winters in a long time. We had close to 3 weeks of sunshine in January. Unheard of. Usually we have snow on the ground by now. Mt Hood has not received much snow. Typically I am up there every weekend skiing in the winter. Not wasting my money this year.
  13. Coresolid = Power family. I use these for heavier moving baits, trolling, larger fish species such as salmon, etc. MGL = Finesse family. I use these for lighter weight lures, plastics, finesse presentations, etc.
  14. And Decoy. That is another highly trusted brand. Especially in the swimbait community.
  15. I also do not care for that particular model. Doesn't perform well imho.
  16. Not fishing related, but I've been an artist my whole life. I can draw everything from photo realistic to abstract. My passion lies in tattoo design. Here are some tattoo designs I drew and sold in the past.
  17. I couldn't disagree more. And many swimbait anglers and rod manufacturers as well as the rods are obviously designed that way for a reason. Lob casting is one casting technique, yes. Probably the least used casting technique for swimbait anglers. Long handled SB rods are purpose built and designed for long open water casting. Short handled SB rods (yes they exist) are purpose built for close quarter casting techniques. Always choose the right tool for the job. Can you do it with another tool? Absolutely. Is it easier with a purpose built tool? 100%. You are basically saying the entire swimbait industry is wrong in how purpose built swimbait rods are made. If the "handles are completely unnecessary" they wouldn't be built that way to begin with.
  18. Have you ever cast a 4+ oz lure on a swimbait rod? How about a 12+ oz lure? The answer is pretty self explanatory once you do it. It would absolutely suck casting baits this big without a nice long handle.
  19. Snow, hail, rain, lightning, big waves...I've done it all.
  20. I use a 7'5". I think the 7'4" to 7"6" range is great for this technique.
  21. I have no threadfin where I live. I catch a lot of bass on that color glidebait, but the spro kgb variant. It doesn't have the white like that one does. But I think you picked a great color.
  22. Rockhopper replied to Mobasser's topic in Everything Else
    Good luck.
  23. I own a club. We go year round as far as practice. The coaching never ends. Games typically 8 to 9 months out of the year.
