  1. I have a TD- Advantage super-tuned, I have not used many bait casters but I think its a good reel, better than the others i have used. And I have the tierra spinning model and love it, I would assume the BC model is good too.
  2. I would 2nd this, I had one and when i decided to step up to a better rod they offer a trade in and upgrade deal. Plus it was a great rod for me in the first place.
  3. st croix is the bees knees, Currently upgrading my premier undamaged rod to a legend tournament rod, I paid the diffrence between the 2 rods and $20 shipping, and thats it. No problems at all, they were nice and easy to deal with, Just waiting for my new rod =)
  4. Some collect comic books some collect lures, no difference really. Im sure the lure was worth that much if the guy paid that much for it.
  5. thanks for the info, ill have to get out soon and catch some 8-)
  6. Im looking to catch my first walleye, possibly more than 1 =) Need some tips / advice. I don't have a boat so i would be casting from shore. From what i hear, sun down is the best time to go.. Rapala original floaters work good Couple Questions. 1-What size lure should I be using? The small (normal size) ones or the giants? 2-What type of retrieve generally? 3-Do colours really matter when it's dark? Any general colours to stick with to be safe? 4-Any other lure suggestions other than a origional floater? Any tips would be good, Just lookin to hook up some fish. Thanks.
  7. Well my fav. bank fishing spot fills with mass weeds this time of year, Wondering if there are any prime lure suggestions? There is a mix of lillys pads and (unknown) weeds. Only thing i could seem to throw is a spro frog, but it gets boring after a little. I tried a jig with a trailer and it did not turn out too good. Any suggestions? change locations? Thanks.

I have started fishing a spro bronzeye frog a lot, Love the hits i get, so many.. Only problem is I have not had a hook up yet. Just wondering if it's maybe something im doing?, this is a problem most of you experience, or the fish are too small (The hits seem to be fish 1lb or under so far, nothing really big) Do you guys think the bronzeye jr. would produce better hookups? Im not a huge fan of the soft plastic frogs due to them ripping, etc. Are there any other "hard body" frogs other than the bronzeye you guys would recommed? thanks.
  10. why?ken whiting is a rod building genius.maybe carrot fibers are better. They had an interview on bass-feed podcast with the guy who invented these, Check it out, Does not sound like a dumb idea at all.
  11. Thanks for input, Im willing to spend 250 but it's not like i HAVE / WANT to spend that much lol, Im trying to find out if there are any cheaper that can preform close to or as good as the more expensive models. Right now im leaning twords the TD Advantage super tuned on sale at Cabelas $99 Im also going to look into the teirra baitcaster, but its not yet listed on bps or cabelas web sites. The cheaper the reel i can get the more i can invest into a quality rod
  12. Im looking into a new baitcaster, Im willing to spend around the $250 mark, but if it's cheaper and works just as good thats great. I recently bought a teirra spinning reel and love it, so im kind of leaning twords a daiwa caster reel. Im asking your opinions on the reels i list below and if there are any other quality reels you know of please list them, I would apreciate it. 1. TD Zillion, I am unsure of the diffrence between 7:1:1 gear ratio and the 6:3:1 ? 2. TD Fuego 3. TD Avantage Super Tuned 4. TD Procast ROJO (Cheaper model than all of the above would like some feedback if anyone has used one) It will be used for an "all around" rod. (Cranks, spinners, swimbaits) If you could pick one what would you choose and why?, Or list any others please. Thanks.
  13. Thanks for the info, I'll have to try out some top water action next time im out on the water.
  14. I had success in shallow waters (2-4 ft) with top water lures and frogs. Recently I had an opportunity to go out on the lake in a friends boat, we were fishing anywhere from 4-9 feet. Just wondering how deep of water you guys have success fishing top waters. thanks.
  15. Thanks for the tips, and for the link, it'll help a lot
  16. I recently upgraded my equipment I want to be sure to keep it all running smooth for as long as possible. Just wondering how often you clean / oil your reels? Also how you do this? where to put the oil etc. I have a daiwa terria and a shimmano sedona Thanks for the help.
  17. a good way I find to fish these is a jerk jerk pause retrieve. If you check out rapala.com under the xrap lure they have a picture of a couple diffrent retrieves you can try with it.
  18. I bought a nee reel off ebay. Came factory wrapped and worked fine. If your buying from an Ebay Store that has a lot of fishing equipment you should not have a problem. But a lot of the "cheap" things on ebay nail you with expensive shipping costs so watch for that.
  19. http://www.gettinghooked.net/Episodes.htm Good show, Quite a few episodes.

Wal mart usually carries YUM-Dingers, In my opinion they are the same as senkos and cheaper.
  21. Grats! If you think thats good you might as well switch to a mac, because like safari EVERYTHING in os x preforms better than windows. ;D
  22. T-Rig because I dont like pulling in weeds ;D
  23. Hi, Im going to try and make some lures. Starting with a top water, Wondering what type of paint you guys use to paint your lures? Any special brands or just any waterproof paint? Seen some pictures on here and the paint finish looks great on all of them. Also if there are any web sites that would offer good information to begginers intrested in lure makeing I would really apreciate it. Im mostly intrested in making swim, float, and crank baits. Thanks.
  24. http://www.exploreproducts.com/flambeau-kwikdraw-4500st-fishing-tacklebox.htm Holds 3 larger cases, and 2 smaller ones Pretty compact, the cases that come with it are not the best but it does not really matter they will still hold stuff.
  25. Anyone have any experience with these? I know I could spend a little more and a little more to keep upgrading to a better rod, but are these good rods? Or would I really be stupid to not pay the extra $20 + for a premier or other.. Any input would be good. Thanks
