Drop shot idea
I just go with Quickdrops Dropshot sinkers, and double loop the line around the pincher.

Another conflicting theory......
direct Light waves get absorbed by dark objects and than hold that radiated heat/energy, then dispersing it. I am thinking that to the extent of how deep and how long rock is exposed to sunlight determines wether they hold an extensive amount heat or not, Therefore drawing fish to warmer water.

300 hp Optimax or 275 hp Verado. Which one?
ETEC BABY!!!!!!! But the 300 Opti is your best bet, if E-rude made a 300, I would get it. I have always never liked Motorguide, MN has always been the smoothest, most durable there is. I would alwsays go with the LOWRANCE, Even though the H-Bird is catching up with the Matrix, it still dont compare. But I would personall get the 332-LMS, but for the guys with some bad vision I guess ya'll could get by with another Windshield that has a screen on it.

Ike has been offered new Boat deal....
I believe but I am not sure that it is a John Storie Hull Design, he designed GREAT BOATS, but he wasnt a great business man. hE DESIGNED THE OLDER Champions, Fisher fiberglass, and Hawk Boats. I have ridden in a legend LE21 with a 225 Pro XS, it is a better bass boat than anything I have ridden in. It is Fast, handles well, fishes AWESOME, and the Fit and Finish is the best of the best.

Dominant and aggressive?
Under 10= More Aggresive Over 10= Dominant I believe the smaller ones are aggresive due to trying to survive. The big ones are not as aggresive I believe, they just wait for bigger prey to come by.

fiberglass vs graphite
Graphite Lamiglas's for everything besides CRANKING. I use a LAmiglas Competitor 685 which is a Composite rod made of a Graphite butt section blended into a fiberglass upper half for a lighter and more sensitive rod while still maintaining the soft action.

repairing an alum boat
Is it the gunwhale or the transom???? If it the transom, replace with a Treated 2 by 6 and your good to go, if its the gunwhale I have no idea.....except that recyling aluminium prices are very high now.
-
85 champion
MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE TRANSOM: Dont Buy if: -Transom Flexes under weight on motor -Mounting Bolts sunken into transom -Black Streaks running down transom, mean water If the transom and floors are intact, I say that is one heck of a price.

Boat Recommendations
One of the best rough water boats I have ridden in are in this order: 1. RANGER 521 VS 2. CHAMPION 213 or 203? 3. Skeeter ZX 300 4. (SURPRISINGLY) Bullet 22XD ALL BIG WATERS when it gets bad are not suitable for small craft. But I would suggest looking at buying a RANGER or CHAMPION in your price range. AS LONG AS IT MECHANICALLY WORKS AND IS SAFE, It is fishable and it will keep you as safe as you can get in a bass boat. Dont worry about colors, gel coat, carpet, cosmetics, that is your last consideration when you are in 8 footers.

Hook Sets With Weedless Jigs?
I first on all my jigs, cut down the weedguard. About 1/8 above the hookpoint when bent down. Then on jig hookset, I belive in a hard "SNAP" Hookset, where you leave a littlw slack line and then you set the hook as hard as you can. I believ you get a better and harder hookset doing that with weedless jigs. Also, you can thin your weedgaurd to soften it up.

Batteries
I Would go with a deep cycle. Get an Optima if you can afford it, if not I have a Duralast Starting battery from autozone and it works great.

Electric baby bass boat *(Pics added)*
LBH, if you want to go with the bass boat in half Idea. I would check out if there are some other bass boats in the area and ask the people if you could please make a template of their hull or at least a picture, then interview them on the fishability when up on front, then start from there. COOL IDEA!!!!

Advise boys on outboard motor
HOW FAST YOU GO IN THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Advise, depending on your state: Touchy, feely and have strict laws: 20 hp ETEC Dont Care States: THE LIGHTEST 30 HP you can find, you can always beef up the transom if needed, I ahev a couple buds that have done that and there little aluminiums fly.

What year(s) did present bass boat design start?
I was just reading about the History of Skeeter Boats today and at a tournament the "WRANGLER" was introdueced in the mid 70's, which blew everybodies mind, although not a GREAT Boat. Then to take even a bigger risk in 1979 Skeeter Unveiled the "STARFIRE" Series of boats which was one of the first TRUE Aggressive High Performance Speedy BASS BOAT Hull. Trust me, I have a 84 Starfire, and its just as good of a hull as some of todays smaller bass boats. So to be Exact, the Hulls of today really spawned off of the Starfire Series from skeeter in the late 70's.

have you ever caught a rod?
I was fishing in a tournament dragging a jighead and I thought I had a fish on and in fact I hooked the top Eye Guide of a 15 year old Shimano AX Combo valued at $15 at Wal-Mart.!!!!!!
