  1. Because i get bigger better fish using other lures. For some people jig are most unwanted using lure because they have a hard time catching with it.For me it's the senkos I've caught 2 fish so far using the senko and i believe it was because of the style of techique and presentation i used and not the "magic of the senko".For $6.99 i expect better...therefore if i do use a worm i use another one that's cheaper and works just as well. I just don't see the rave and greatness of the senkos...sure i can catch small ones every now and then.I just enjoy fishing jigs and for some reasons jigs are getting all my bigger fish...as the senkos i'm managing to catch 1 pounders. Also i fish for smallmouths alot of times...and i have yet to get a smallmouth bite a senko.
  2. Nothing wrong with them....you can fish them just about any way you like.Personally i like them with a skirted jig.
  3. You don't have to,but i do.Alot of times i'll mix green jig with a brown trailer(and vice versa).Orange/brown jig with green trailer.I keep it simple though,i don't get too crazy with my colors. Orange is a good color here,if you ever see a crayfish in the water look closely it's got either red/orange/brown on it...pending on the water as well.
  4. i second that...
  5. I think dead sticking catches me more fish with jigs than anything.Definely have to take a look into that issue.Only problem is i lose so many baits and hooks dued to snags.
  6. yeah this is one of my "go to" baits.
  7. On just about every jig. Some jigs i buy the weed guard and or skirts are already short enough.I check every one i buy though.
  8. It's all i use now....owner hooks are the best IMO.
  9. Last weekend i skunked out for the first time this summer...I was getting hammered by the bluegills and turtles. They wouldn't leave my baits alone. After my baits getting torn off, missing legs and reeling it in to find only half my plastic still intact and the other half missing. No matter which part of the lake i went not one bass was active that weekend.I just flat gave up after 5 hours dealing with those other pesty critters.
  10. I'm stocking up on next paycheck.... ;D
  11. I try to look at it this way, they don't call it "public" for nothing.I see idiots/annoying kids on every outing,i try to just ignore it,unless it's something highly illegal then i direct to the park rangers or DNR guys.As much as i try to keep my mouth shut it's hard sometimes.Gotta remember there's some crazy people out there who might not have any regards or respect to human life.
  12. Gman you make some excellent jigs yourself.
  13. I've been stuck on jigs since the beginning of this year,i gotten to the point where i almost don't have to buy anymore jigs for atleast 5 years.I'm still gonna buy more though,i love em..it's an addiction. Lately i been T-rigging a senko/stick baits and also wacky rigging as well.So if the jig bite is slow i'll change to the senko, give em' fish a little bit different baits throughout the day. My creature baits are seeing alot of action and water time as well.I rig weightless,t-rigged or rigged as a trailer on a jig.Smallmouths are hammering these creature baits here as of lately. Those are my 3 main baits this year.
  14. Fish are usually in cover if fishing is slow, fish a worm TX rig or a jig and trailer.
  15. Sabertail bug and ugly otter.
  16. Doesn't the florida rig have the screw in spring on the weight to screw in the worm/plastic?I have a few of those i found on sale,i ripped the springs right off them.I like my weight sliding up and down as well.

I LOVE it when it's hot.
  18. I average 2-3 bass per outing.I bank fish for 3-4 hours. So i catch one every hour or two.
  19. Try using a light wire hook instead of those heavy superline ewg hooks.I had the same problem when i was using superline hooks my hook-ups were horrible.Lightwire hooks seem to penetrate better.
  20. Stay away from superline hooks,i perferr light wire hooks. My hook-up ratio skyrocketed once i got some lightwire hooks instead of those superline thick hooks.Just from personal experience.
  21. Spur of the moment kinda thing as what i'll throw on it. Like if i'm going after smallmouths sabertail bug has been the top producer for me this year or it'll be a yum wooly bug.If i'm after anything the standard skirted jig with a 2'' trailer.
  22. Crankbaits for me....Can't catch a darn thing off them, but yet own a few. Spinnerbaits work well when the shads are swimming, otherwise the bite is hard to get.I like using the smaller spinnerbaits though, not those oversize 1/2 oz that feels like 2oz spinnerbaits.
  23. Awesome fish! Can't beat the fight those smallies give up!
  24. I don't know, but i order a few just to find out....lol I think i got enough pumpkin to last the rest of this summer though. ;D
  25. I don't leave home without it on. 8-)
