  1. Glad you had a good time bassmaster. It really was a learning experience for me to. I really had to work on my patience and work that one spot. A few years ago I would have just thrown a few casts at the tree and moved on. Of course a few years ago I wasn't catching 4lb plus fish. And what happened with the truck? did you get a trade in anything?

    Looks good.
  3. Got out on the water with Bassmaster6 today. We had a great day overall. Took us awhile to find the fish but once we found the right place it was pretty consistant. I caught 12 Bassmaster caught 7 i think Largest was 4 lbs 7oz and put up a great fight. Caught on a black and blue jig
  4. Hey Muddy. I really appreciate these music posts that you have been putting up lately. I think we have in general a different taste in music. But your posts are really helping me learn about the history of music in this country and exposing me to alot of stuff I just haven't had experience with. Thanks again.
  5. My PB of 7lbs 1oz was caught on a 4 inch Senko (really an *** trick stick). i've caught big fish and small fish on this bait. It just plain catches fish
  6. I use it to keep in touch. I can post video's and pics for my relatives and friends to see. I post up music riffs for my music friends. I can also set up events to help schedule parties and stuff. I think it's a great tool if used effectively
  7. I understand where you are coming from Fishing Rhino. I fish with friends and family, and take people who are interested fishing with me. However I do not promote the sport actively. I don't try to get people into it and grow it just for the sake of making it bigger. I like the fact that there are lakes I can go to that aren't full of other anglers. These gives me the rare chance to get away from the world. Over-promotion and unlimited growth would eventually take this away. There are only so many bodies of water out there.
  8. This is one of the only times it's an advantage to be a lefty. I can buy "right-handed" reels, and keep the rod in my dominant hand.
  9. I woudn't worry to much about the color of the jitterbug at night. it's the steady motion that makes the differance. I fish the big musky sized on at night and you can get some vicious strikes from it. A big spinnerbait (black if you have it) with a big colorodo blade works wonders at night. Buzzbaits are good as well.
  10. Apparently I'm some sort of of open source Wiki program.
  11. Finally got out again on the water this past weekend. It was only for a couple of hours in my float tube but it was nice to fish in the sun for once. Caught 2 bass, largest at 2lbs. a pickeral and a crappie. hopefully things slow down a bit and i'll be able to do some more fishing this week. Tight lines everyone
  12. I always wear a hat when i fish. I have a bunch of different ones I will wear. However I have one unlucky hat. I have a Gamakatsu Hat I will not wear. The always get skunked when I wear this hat. It's still one of my favorite hats....but not on the water.
  13. Apparently it is just continuing to drop and will do so until they fix the boards on the dam. It's theoretically possible that something could change overnight but I don't want to get everyone down there so early and find out we can't even get in the water. Sorry again for this being such short notice. I didn't know that there was still a problem till my father called me today. Like I said I hope to reschedule this sometime soon once things have stablized down there. Right now I have a bunch of hamburger and hotdog rolls with no home. Good luck to everyone tomorrow if you do go fishing.
  14. IMPORTANT UPDATE. I have to CANCEL the tournament. Just checked with my father who lives on the river and the water is extremely low. The cove he lives on is completely dried out. The water has continued to drop all day and is at this point too low to even launch a boat on. :'( I apologize to everyone for having to cancel on such short notice. I've called everyone that I have numbers for. We will be postponing to a later date when I'm sure that they have fixed the dam. If anyone has any questions. PM me.
  15. 7am is the tourney start time. I'm hoping we can get everyone on the water start on time.
  16. Extra soda and paper plates would be cool. Thanks
  17. Almost time for the Tourney. Weather update: looks like 30% chance of rain and 78degrees. The water was back up last time I was down there. I'll get an update put up on the water tomorrow. I appreciate people bringing stuff. Ive got hotdogs, chips, burgers and soda's right now. (extras are definitely welcome). Finishing up he trophies tonight. See everyone soon
  18. What color senko's are you having luck with. I am in need of buying more because I only have white left over Also what hooks are you using with your senko's ? If your looking for Senko type baits give * trick sticks a try. Great quality and sooo much cheaper then name brand. I say i fish "senkos" all the time but i really mean trick sticks. Caught my PB on them as well as hundreds of other fish in the last couple of years.
  19. Just found this old SNL skit. Before my time but very funny. Even the bait monkey couldn't get me to buy this one.
  20. That was the name of my cat. She was a very dumb cat.
  21. Yeah, the grenade is my back up plan. One can never be too prepared. ;D

Thanks Eddie: Yeah that video was for a real tourney. It probably didn't make any sense out of context huh? My "creations" do not compare with most of the work that I see in this section. There are so many amazing artists making rods and lures here. However i wanted to post this to give some ideas for other people who might have some broken stuff laying around.
  23. Yeah, there's still plenty of space to fill. I have about double the tackle seen on the wall right now. Alot of my stuff is in the boat right now for this weeks trip. I really like having everything up on the pegboard. It makes stuff easy to find and I actually think i end up buying less stuff then I used to. I can't count the number of times I used to go out and buy lures because I had thought I had run out and then later found a bag or two in a different box. This way that doesn't really happen. Also it looks good 8-)
  24. I finally finished putting together my workshop/tackleroom. My next project is finishing my music room/recording studio. I can't believe my wife let's me get away with this stuff ;D

I know this forum is about making tackle and this is really me making stuff out of tackle. But i figured it was close enough. Here are a couple of trophies I made out of broken reels and defective lures for a get together tourney we are holding soon.
