fuel priming bulb issue
Now that is a tough one. IF you have a buddy with small out board that you can try might give you some idea as to what may be causing you your dilima. If the bulb will get firm with your buddys motor then the problem is in the connector on your mother but if the bulb has the same problem with both motors then the problem is with the bulb/fuel line. Just because a part is new does not mean that is is not defected Good Luck

insanely leaky old jon boat
you can mess around with all that if you want...but I think I would strip, prime, and paint the inside with truck bed liner. I'm not all that familer with the toughness of those bed liners but it seams as thoug the pressure of the water (as the boat moves alone) would eventuly push up the liner. I mean could you really get a really good coat on the insde floor of a jon boat that has ribs, seams, and bench seats rest which are tied to the floor of the boat. Sealing from the bottom might be better but still how long would it last.

Any mechs out there, that can help?
You may have either bad clips or a bad hose. Check the fitting that screws into the tank. They can develope leaks if the hose is used to lift the tank. Check the Hose to insuer it has no leaks or cracks. Fuel line is cheap at the parts house. Check the clamps where the hose connects on either side of the Blub. If bad or lose remove and cut or trim off bad part and reconnect with clamps, and do the same at the clips ends where the ho9se connects to the tank and wher it connect to the motor. But here is a shade-tree fix for you! If all check out ok and you still here the air the air unscrew the tank fitting and apply some PERMATEX 82180 to it then reinstall. Un plug both ends hose from the clips. Get you some PERMATEX 82180 (Auto Parts Stores) and coat both of the clips tube ends, give it about a minute or so to set up and then push the tube (don't twist!!!) back on the clips. Let it sit over night and go fish the next day!! Link so you will know what I'm talking about http://permatex.carshopinc.com/product_info.php/products_id/42304/82180 If you cant find this most auto parts store to include wal-mart carry some form of a gasket sealon that is silcone base. Almost any form of gasket maker will do the job I just perfer thsi stuff cause it works on anypart of a motor/transmisson that i need to do a repair on and dont have or can't locate the correct gasket for

Tow Vehicle
Status for all the 2007 and 2008 Models of that jeep are the same Engine: 4 Cylinder, 2.4 Liter, 172 HP Wheels: Steel Wheels, 16-In. X 6.5-In. Torque: 165 @4400 Seating: 5 Side Airbags: Not Standard ABS Brakes: Standard Towing Capacity: 1000 Wheelbase: 103.7 With a thousand pouds of towing you would be ok on the flats and downhill of coures would be great. Steep hills and very steep launch ramps is what will give you the most problems. That's depending on what type of boat you want to get and how you have it rigged out. If it was me I would be looking at something with a little more BALLS than what this vehickle has to offer. :-/ Bright side to this is you said *** Girlfriend*** not wife. Let her save the world you get the tow vehickle that you need to pull what ever size boat you want. Here is a web page which gives a good review of the Jeep Patriot while comparing it to the Liberty The 2008 Jeep Liberty vs. Jeep Patriot http://blogs.trucktrend.com/6215168/vehicle-reviews/the-2008-jeep-liberty-vs-jeep-patriot/index.html

Re-painting a canoe
Mann I want a canoe so bad. I want to paddle the bayous of Houston and a conoe seams like the best way to do it. I keep missing good deals on them on craigslist all the time As for the painging glass canoe I would contact Lincoln and see what type of paint they point you at or you could go comando on that thing! Clean it up and smothed it down with a sanding paper of about 400 grit, cover it with primer and lightly sand again. use tack cloth to remove any tiny foreign particles and paint. Piece of cake!!!!

no trim on older bass boat
My first boat was a 1970 Falcon Tiger 16.5 Tri hull and it had a Johnson Seahorse 50 on it with the same set up Only had tilt but not trim Like you i was in a pinch for cash at that time so boat needs were not too high on the list!! But Theirs allways a shadetree mechanice way around any problem till ya get the cash ya need. Here's what I did As for adding weight, I used some old gallon Juice jugs to get my front end down and I could move them around on the boat based on who all was on the boat with me. Since it was just water i could adjust the weight by simple adding water of pouring some out worked great.

Boat not tracking straight
Since you are only running electric motors does it really matter? Anywho, I would put my money on the weight disturbition in the boat. My 1432 does the same thing also. I run a 34 on the rear and stear it with a 28 on the front. Some times i can manuaver the weight around to get it to track straight but I don't let it bother me too much.

insanely leaky old jon boat
That what I call moving water Holes ;D Here is a nother way to find the leaks. Get a crayon as LBH says and get boat on the water an circle the leaks. It may be that the weight in the boat combined with the water that the hull displaces cause it seperate and that is when it leaks.

one man watercraft
Sell your biger jon and get your self a smaller one say like a 10 to a 12 footer. The 1432 jon are ver light by the way. I have had one of these in my fishing war chest for 25 years and would not part with it for nothing!!

Looks like it would be a great for small bodies of water that are well protected but for that price tag of $2500.00 that's a little steep for me. but if that is the only option to get on the water go for it. Bass boat operating costs (?)
I second this 100% All my boats are at storage facilities and that just add to the cost of ownership but I love them to death and would not get rid of any one of them unless it was because i just got a replacement

I mean how bad/hard can it be to fight off snakes, turtles and alligator gar from the safty and confort of a float tub while fighting one of those big old hawgs of a bass! U should be ok I would guess.

Small craft bass fishing
For $2700, you could get your self avery nice 10 to 14 foot jon boat rig very nice. IMHO $2700 is quiet a bit of money to invest in a plastic boat rig. It may be a good boat but thatn is just too much money CGH

Preventing outboard theft
For an out board that small I would keep it in the house next to me and my Glock. Yes I know that it is a pain in the rear but that's about the safest way of storing your boat pusher when they are that small. Here in Houston outboards are regular stolen and then resold at flea markest, and place like that. Locks and Dogs are both good but nothing beats the safety of you house. If the Little Woman complains tell her it either her or the Outboard and then say woman don't make me Chose!! >

Water Pump
I had a 1976 Johnson Seahorse 50 HP that also sat for some years (8 1/2) judging by the reg stickers on the boat. I did the same things and got the same results that you did with a set of muffs and the waterhose. I didn't put the boat in gear was told that it would be a bad idea due to not enough water getting pumped into the system using the muffs. I took the boat (Falcon Tiger) to the lake and it ran find with plenty of water being pumped out both at idel and at cruising speed. Did'nt run it at WOT untill i felt comfortable with my repair job. Still have the 50 Sitting in the storage but the Boat I'm sad to say had to be put Down :'(

Get your self some of those big lawn mower wheels and a couple pipes and make your self a folding boat dolly that you can use to move the boat around and store in the boat when not in use
