  1. Here is a simple trick to figure the amout of oil that you will need to cook your bird. place your turkey on the hook and in your deep frier pot after you have cleaned it and before you injected it with your seansons. Add water till it covers that bird with no more than 1 1/2 to 2 inches. Remove the bird. mesaure the water. Ronnie is right on the money about the 12-14lb birds being perfect for frying. No butterballs or the birds that are inhance with the soultions. Just a plan old gobbler is what you want. Strain and refrige your oil and it will last quiet a while.

One of the sad facts of life. The more new toys we pay for the more our older toys will be come obsolete. I gave up fighting the beast long ago. I too was one of those that would not download or copy cd/tapes/VHS tapes. But I got tired of always having to replace this for that and then within a few years go throught the whole process again. I Download everthing I want to watch/read/listen to now. I just got tired of waisting my money. It bad I know but I just refuse to be somebodys ginne pig any longer.
  12. That all good and dandy if people would travel in the appropriate lanes, it don't matter what lane you are in sooner or later some goof ball on a cell or someone with 10 people in a car built for 4 is gonna cause you trouble!
  13. That's a $400 rig if i ever saw one. Reason for the gas tank and the motor placement is for weight distro and for siting postition while driving. He (the owner) more than likely doesn't like sitting sideways wile driving the boat.

  15. Have any of you fellers ever had your vehicle stolen? I like the older model GMC Suburban. I had a 1991 Model R1500 that was totaled on April 29, 2006. I have looked and search the Houston Metro-Plex area to include the Golden triangle are (Beaumont Port Author, Orange) for a replacement. Mean wile I drove whatever set of wheels that I could get my hands on that would pull a boat. Well on August 16 2007 I found a 1989 GMC Suburban in mint condition paid cash for it and drove home. On September 5, it was stolen. I hadn't even put 500 miles on the dang thing before it was taken. Well the cops recovered/found it on October 10 and man was it striped bare. Rims and tires, motor and transmission, right rear passenger door, right rear/rear door, both bumpers, dash board and of course all my stuff that was in side. It bad enough that I lost all my stuff that was in the rear of the vehicle but it was just outrageous the fees that the tow company gets to charge. After towing it 2.5 miles to their lot, notifying me and stowing it for 3 days they wanted $1695 for me to get it out of their Secured Lot for Stolen Vehicles It took ever bit of my self control > to not go blistic on the doufuss behind the glass window. I was told that I had 10 minutes of free time to look at my SUV then it was $25 charge per 30 minutes pass the initual 10 minutes. Man talk about a rip off! I looked it over and just left it their. Better to just cut my losses and just start over.
  16. I second that motion Here is a link that walks you through John Whaleys duct tape welding technique http://oregonkayaking.net/how_to/boat_repair.html

  20. I guess we should all gather by the river side and say the fishermans Prayer for his trouble soul. Fisherman's Prayer I pray that I may live to fish....... Until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray: When in the Lord's great landing net And peacefully asleep That in His mercy I be judged Big enough to keep.

  23. That a very clean 12er by the way. You happen to know what year it is? "What would I use to secure the plywood onto the bottom (glue, screws, etc.)?" If you knotch them as LBH stated not only will the ribbs keep them from slidding back and forth and also side to side you will have no need to screw or glue them down. They, your floors will sit happly at the bottom of your boat till you need to take them out to retrive Hooks, sinkers, and what-not after your fishing trip. It will make life simpler when it comes times to clean the inside bottom of the boat or the carpet for that matter. Check your local pawn shops for Trollowing motors during the off season. You can get some great deal during that time! CGH
  24. I second that and will never surrender my gun to anyone.
  25. I would guess that A trip to the hard ware store for either some Hotglue, self taping sheet metal screws or something of that matter and a strip 2 inch by 10 aluminum should get ya what ya need. Bend the Aluminum strip and either mount it by screws or glue it to your boat and then hot glue, bundge strap, rubber bands or by what ever means that you may be inspired by connect it too your strip of alunimum I have been using a the same handheld on my two jons that i use when I bank fish with mom. Mom's not that fun of being in boats but she loves to fish.
