pond w/ no rocks
well the fish have to spawn somewhere. places i would look are shallow flats about 1-4 feet deep. if you cant see how deep a section of water is, then get a rapala countdown. these baits were designed to fall at one foot per second. just count it down until it hits the bottom. good luck!

Its a Dink!
got out for a little bit to the farm pond today with my sister and her boyfriend. i had my new rapala DT-FAT 03 tied on my new crankbait combo. this is one deadly setup. st. croix avid 6'6 MM and shimano citica 100DSV and a rapala. nothing better anyway, we were only there a few minutes when i was crankin in my DT and a small bass crushed it right at my feet. i landed it. it was about 13" long (didnt measure). my sister thought it was huge and insisted on taking a picture: the very next cast in the very same spot another, larger, bass crushed this lure. well it was right at my feet and caught me by suprise so i couldnt get a good hook set in it. it was fighting pretty good and loaded my rod pretty good and then one head shake later my DT went flying about 10 feet above my head and my sister freaked! i thought it was funny. i walked around the pond and was cranking my DT when i saw a real tiny bass (about 8" or 9") take a swipe at it in about 4 inches of water. i made a few 10 foot casts in the imediate area to try and nab this sucker. three casts later he took it. i lifted him out of the water by the line and he shook the hook out and flopped on the ground and into the water. oh well : about an hour of no more bites and i tied on a river2sea v-joint wake bait and went to the other farm pond. a few casts later and i caught another bass a little bit larger than the first one. my sister had the camera and she was playing horseshoes with her boyfriend so i didnt get a pic of this one. it wasnt a great day but i was just glad to at least fight 4 fish, even if i only landed 2. much better than staying home .

how would you approach this
anything weedless. try texas rigged senko style lures subsurface texas rigged ribbon tail worms on the bottom and if the scum on top is thick enough to support a lure, crawl a texas tailed ribbon tail worm along the top...thats one of my killer topwater lures.

What's with the Shadalicious Smell?
Berkley Hollow Bellies smell like some kind of toxic plastic chemical to quote Tin: "Opened a pack in the truck and i got a buzz"

Okeechobee Fats 1200 tackle bag
so the zippers are good and all the other components are good? nothin is gonna break on me? i did see the smaller one, i think it was the 800 size or something, that held 4 large boxes and then another size down (600 size?) that held 2 medium boxes. these bags are very tempting......(i hate you bait monkey)

Check this out..
great job! love getting a few quality fish in a confined amount of time! i'd estimate the first one to be about 4.5lbs and the second one to be about 3.5-4lbs.

Okeechobee Fats 1200 tackle bag

Kopper's Live Target Bait Pics
nice baits. is that perch metallic or matte? if i had to guess i'd say matte???

braided line
the reason most use a leader is because braid is very opaque (solid) and light doesnt pass thru it. so its very easily spotted underwater. by putting on a clear leader, it makes it less noticable to spooky fish.

Okeechobee Fats 1200 tackle bag
saw one of these at walmart yesterday for $40. lemme tell you, this was the MOTHER OF ALL TACKLE BAGS!!! biggest one i have ever seen. it held 8 large boxes, i'd estimate the size of one of the boxes to be about 14"x10". it had all kinds of pockets and pouches and holders for everything. seemed like a very nice tackle bag and i was tempted to buy it, but not sure if i wanna make the investment. anybody use one? are they worth getting? tell me about them! thanks

Lucky Craft Knockoffs?
I find that the daiwa db minnow doesn't look like a pointer at all. This bait certainly does: http://www.***.com/descpageHDLDAIWAHDRDAIWA-TDMSG.html yeah i guess you're right, but for 14.95, why not just get a real pointer? :

The DarkSide Flows
its over $1,000 just in the REELS! it could be almost $2,000 once he gets the rods, depending on how much they cost him.

Lucky Craft Live Pointer
i bought one last year on a whim at BPS cuz it looked cool. well then i got home and read reviews on cabelas and bass pro's website, and everybody said that after a few fish the wire that holds the lure together snapped. i casted mine and it hit a dock and broke. lucky craft gave me a new one though i never even opened the new one though. i sold it. wont be buying any more.

Lucky Craft Knockoffs?
yeah i wouldnt buy anything from that guy just because of his descriptions, which are a load of boloney!!! daiwa DB suspending minnow looks like a pointer and has some nice colors. http://www.***.com/descpageHDLDAIWAHDRDAIWA-DDBM.html#

can any one else see through this
to me, sexy shad is just another color. i havent bought a single one because, truthfully, i dont really like the way it looks. it doesnt look like too bad of a color, but its too light for my applications, i like darker colors like tennessee shad. and also, im not a big fan of strike king cranks. i stick mainly to rapalas, bandits, and bombers (but mostly raps ). i would NEVER buy a bait only beacuse its in sexy shad color.

Antique Tin Club
i think i have the most rinky dink boat of em all! on the title it says: "Make: Unknown Year:19unknown" i cracked up when i read that! this boat is a 12 foot aluminum. its in pretty bad shape. it leaks pretty bad, it is very tipsy, and its pretty crowded with two people + gear. i dont really like it very much, but i like it a whole lot more than being shorebound!!!!

Line issue, baitcaster issue, or is it me
yup as alpster said, your line is probably too thin and spooled too loose on the reel. when this happens it is very easy for the line to just slip deeper into the spool and then when you go to cast give you a backlash. like alpster said, get thicker line and spool it on tighter! good luck!

Ambassadeur 4007LP
ok i just assumed they were all made in sweden. i checked all over the reel and couldnt find a stamp that said where it was made.
