hope this isnt a repeat post.... how does the Lucky Craft Gunfish preform? w/ that cupped lip, it looks like it will spit a great deal, but how well does it walk the dog...if it does both easily, i think i will get one. are they good baits? maybe this question cant be answered, but which would be better, a sammy or gunfish? or are they each good for different applications. if so, which applications are each better for? thanks guys!

i had a live pointer once but i sold it to get money for a reel, cuz i never fished it and it was still in the pacakage. i tihnk i might get a gunfish though. they look awesome.

No more than anywhere else. There are several types of cooling set ups but the lake water only goes across hot pipes, tubes or some type of cooling fins. Kind of like the air does in your heat & AC unit in your house. So any polution is from the "exhaust" that comes from burning the coal in a coal fired plant. (but wind normally carries it off) Most of what you "see" is steam from the water in the cooling process. ok thanks.

Not so much the whole lake, usually a small area near the "outflow" didnt know that either! see, ya learn somethin every day.

i read about em somehwere a few months back and i thought they were total BS. but who knows...i havent tried em, i dont know anyone who has, maybe they are great...i predict that 90% chance they dont improve catch rates/they suck, 4% chance they repel the fish, 4% chance they work, 2% chance theyre awesome just my thoughts, none of that is based on experience.

some good rods in that range are: team allstar IM-10 team daiwa light and tough shimano compre shimano clarus BPS extreme the st. coix premiers, ive heard mixed opinions on them. some people say they are good, some say the suck, some say they are alright. stay away from the triumphs though, ive heard they are horrible.

yeah but it's medium action....spinnerbaits and frogs i wouldn't use this for. yeah thats true. small spinnerbaits (under 1/2oz) should still be ok though....i use my MF on spinner baits just fine. but yeah frogs would be a bad choice on a medium power rod...

i always thought that those recoil guides looked cheesy and i was suprised to see a big name company like g. loomis using them. that is what the guides on my ugly stik look like after using braid on them.

xf action is not good for any trebels... xf action is good for plastics, jigs, shakey head, dropshot, maybe spinnerbait, frogs, pretty much any single hook bait where alot of backbone is needed.

i love bandits. they are cheap and very effective. i like (in order) rapala, bandits, bomber. those are really the only 3 brands that i have alot of experience w/. i have a manns baby 1minus and it seems kinda cheesy. it doesnt seem well built..hooks were very dull, and there are big rough seems all over it. also, i dont like how wide of a wobble it has and how fat the lure is. i would take a foot loose over a 1minus anyday. swimbaits seem fun. i dont have any swimbait gear, and i only have one swimbait and it is a cheapy. ive only fished it once for like 10 minutes just to see how it performs. i found that to get any action it has to be retrieved kinda fast. i still like it. i will fish it in the spring for the spawn. here is a pic of it. its called a storm kickin slab:

this is how i fish it: the first is to cast it out, reel it down, then start twitching/jerking it around. then leave a long pause, then do it again...and occasionally reel it straight for a few feet. another is to cast it, jerk it hard, and keep doing this. this will get the most erratic action out of it, and is probably the most popular way to fish it. the last method is to just reel it straight back like a crankbait. this usually isnt very productive. here are some rapala links on how to fish it: http://www.rapala.com/products/howto/fish/index.cfm?lurename=x-rap&freshorsalt=Fresh http://www.rapala.com/pdfs/instructions/x-rap.pdf

thanks for the input guys. i was lookin at river2sea's kong...it looks great in the water (vid). they also have a v-joint min wake which is just like the king kong only smalller and i plan on buying one of those if i dont get one for xmas. why do they work better over deep structure? i would think they work good in shallo structure where the bass can see it more... does it work better in clear water? cuz the water wher i fish is heavily stained, and i think bass might have a hard time seeing it if they are that deep...but then again the deepest my lakes might go is 20-30 feet.

this is a serious question.....are the bass in powerplant lakes every mutated at all?

i learned today that powerplant lakes (lakes made to cool powerplants) are usualy very warm all year round, hot in the summer. fish in powerplant lakes spawn in january.

i think the browns uniforms are pretty ugly.
