  1. Do reels really benefit from this? How much of a project is it? I ain't the handiest guy in the world...
  2. Are they slow crawled on the bottom?
  3. Do these have a spot in the tackle box, or are they over rated? If you had just one, what would the color be?
  4. I just picked up a Carbonlite 6'9"MHXF today- they are good looking rods. Obviously I haven't fished with it yet but one thing is certain- this thing is amazingly light...
  5. I have become so starved for excitement that I charged out my front door and sucker punched my next door neighbor. She didn't know what hit her.....
  6. Hey Denny, can I borrow about 20,000 dollars?
  7. So if I can get it shipped to my door for less than 300, it is a great deal?
  8. Is the larger Core a niche type reel, or just a high end casting reel? I saw one on Ebay brand new for cheaper than I can get a Chronarch, and was just curious about your opinions...
  9. The Symetre is a great reel for less then your budget- I have had mine for several years and have caught bass and large channel cats on it without a hiccup. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.
  10. For 50.00, you could get an old school Abu Ambassadeur 6000. They aren't the most refined, but they'd last you until you turned the reel over to your son in 50 years...
  11. The Extreme Series, and the Carbonlite....
  12. Does anyone fish these? If so, how do they do for you?
  13. Glad to meet ya. My cousin fishes alot of local tournaments and he swears by your reels...
  14. A Shimano Symetre 1000?....
  15. Well heck- I have a couple of those in the garage. No need to spend more cash then:)
  16. What are the characteristics of this technique specific rod?
  17. Does anyone have an opinion on the limpest monofilament?
  18. My spool tension I keep pretty conservative, but my brakes are usually 3 on 3 off... maybe I'll drop to 12 pound test...
  19. Well, actually that may have been my problem, I got by using my MH fast action rod. Now I have a dedicated rod- a 6'6" St Croix glass crankbait rod. I haven't fished it, but I have thrown a practice plug with it and it seems to load up and really peel line off. I am using a Citica 201e. Do you think the rod will make that much of a difference?
  20. Do you guys have a tough time throwing small cranks on casting gear? I have some difficulty with stuff much lighter than 3/8 oz or so. Are those tiny baits better suited to spinning gear?
  21. I would love to have the Loomis rod, but I really am trying to stay in that 200-250 dollar range. Especially after what the Cronarch will set me back...
  22. Yep, I tend to be more accurate with a 6'6" when outright casting. Still, I realize that flipping and pitching are different animals all together and I planned on a 7 foot stick being the minimum.
  23. Sounds like a plan:) Based on what you and others have told me- this will give me a quality arsenal to fish many different conditions...
  24. Bronzefly, I am quoting you because I appreciate your advice. I currently have these in my arsenal- Pflueger Supreme/St Croix Premier Spinning 6'6" MHF Shimano Citica 201E/St Croix Premier glass 6'6" MMF Revo STX-L/Falcon Cara T7 MHF 6'6" I just want that heavy action setup for flipping/pitching, and for jigs and worms if I run into some really nasty cover. What do you think?
  25. Guys, I think I have decided to go with a Cronarch for pitching/flipping, as many of you suggested it was a good choice. Now what rod would be a good match? I would like to spend maybe 250.00 or less, but that isn't etched in stone. Also, what is the minimum length for a rod used for this technique?
