Rat-L-Trap comes through!!
These days it seems that most companies have forgotten that the consumer can make or break them. Good for them and good for you!

Modifying my crankbait hooks?
Guys, I HATE losing expensive crankbaits. I have seen some newer lures with the front "prong" of the treble hook removed. Has anyone tried clipping off the front of a regular treble and filing it down?

what is a good BC setup
I am certainly no expert, but I have heard a good number of folks say that the Bass Pro Extreme baitcasters are a nice reel for the money. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_103926_100001001_100000000_100001000_100-1-1?ordProd=Y&CMID=TOP_selectitems#itemDetail

Cranking on a budget?
As far as rods go- they carry Falcon, Fenwick, Loomis, St Croix, Berkley, Shakepeare, etc. In reels they have Shimano, Abu, Daiwa, Quantum,Pflueger, and Pinnacle. Someone told me that an Ugly Stik Lite makes a decent budget cranking rod. Wally World has them for like 30.00...

Cranking on a budget?
To clarify- it is store credit from a return to the sporting goods store. So it is "money already spent". I don't have a credit card and I don't want one....

Cranking on a budget?
Well, it isn't a question of cash, as it would be store credit that I already have. I just don't want to deplete the bank account for the equipment. I could maybe add a few bucks to it, but 200.00 would be an absolute ceiling for me....

Cranking on a budget?
Guys, I am starting to become comfortable throwing my baitcaster, and I'd like to get a rod and reel just for crankbaits. Here is the problem- I just got laid off and fancy equipment just isn't as appealing as feeding the children. I'd love to have a Loomis rod and a Cronarch, but it is out of the question. I am on a strict budget, and I need opinions on a viable rod and reel for general duty cranking that won't break the bank. I only have 150.00 or so to spend, and I need to buy from the local shop as there isn't a BPS nearby. Can you fellas point me to a good lefty reel and a rod suitable for this technique? thanks in advance, NRA

Berkley® Lightning Rod® Shock
My wife has a Lightning rod for her spinning rig. It is a 6ft medium power model. It casts well and has handled channel cats, and large and smallmouth without a hitch. It is also very light and easy to use even when she floats all day.

Do I need a dedicated flipping/pitching setup?
Is a dedicated rig for flipping and pitching really a must? Should I go with a heavy action rod or is MH enough? Also, who makes a reel for this type of fishing? Could I make do with an old Shimano Brush Buster?

Good jig and pig combo?
Can you fine gents recommend a good brand, color and weight of jig and pig? I am wanting to learn to use one, and I thought I'd tie one on tomorrow when I go to the lake. My baitcaster is rigged with 14 pound mono, and I'll be fishing anywhere from 2 feet to 20 feet of water. Thanks, NRA

Basic arsenal for a bluegill forage base?
What are you guys color choices, and favorite lures when chasing bass in a bluegill lake?

Shaky head = Success:)
Went to the lake Saturday and we couldn't buy a bite. Finally about my last hour fishing I tied a Spot remover jig head on my line with a Zoom finesse worm. I cast and let it hit bottom, then lifted until just before the lure came off the bottom. After a few light shakes, BAM. All the sudden I looked like a pro. I nabbed five bass in about 25 minutes, then we had to get going. Seems like a new technique that I will have to use more often. Is anyone else a believer in the shaky head?

Shimano Curado D Series Reels....Discontinued???
Ahh- so this begs the question: What does Shimano need to do with the Curado to reclaim its reputation? What kind of features are necessary, and at what price point???
