  1. What are you guys most productive baits... The baits that catch you the most fish. Is this bait your favorite bait or not? If not what is your favorite bait to fish and why? For me the bait that produces the most quality fish for me is the senko. Now I use green white and black ones and I always catch decent fish with them. However my favorite baits to fish are topwater baits. I love seeing the bass come up and hammer poppers, spooks, and baits like that so they are my favorite to fish even though they do not produce as many fish as the senko....
  2. Nice fish...probably three pounders...
  3. Something that has been frustrateing me when fishing for quite a while now is whenever I go for largemouth bass I can almost NEVER get the big bite. Yeah most of the time I fish a small pond which doesent have any fish over around four pounds but even when I go to a larger lake I still do not get the big bite. I go to a one of two larger lakes about once a week and I end up doing pretty well with numbers of bass. I used to go out and catch one decent bass at these lakes and about 8 dinks. Now I am doing quite a bit better and usually catch 2-4 nice 2-3 pound bass every time I go to a larger lake. Thing is I almost never catch any bass over four pounds. Also its not like these two lakes dont have big bass in them. I have seen bass in the 8-9 pound range in there I just cant get them to bite. My last outing at one of these larger lakes I took two rods with me. One was rigged with a four inch castaic baby bass swimbait and the other was rigged with a zoom super fluke. I was hopeing these big baits would catch me a lunker but I did not even get a bite on the swimbait. The super flukes I got a few nice two pound fish though. Even when I throw senkos in these larger lakes I only seem to catch small-average bass. Maybe it is just that these two lakes are realy heavily fished. I just ordered a mattlures baby bluegill. Very expensive bait which I hope will produce me a nice fish. Anyone got any advice for me?
  4. By the way avid I hope you get back fishing again soon. I cant wait to see more abstract fish photography from you....
  5. A noble effort sir Matt5.0 Now, get rid of the expensive . Get yourself a 1.5 megapixel "throwaway" carry it in the pocket of your fishing pants. Fall in the water a few times. Make sure the lint from your pocket is covering the lens. Wipe the lens off with a combination bug spray, spf 40, smelly jelly, and bass slime covered thumb, wait for the sky to turn overcast, face away from what remains of the sun, hold the bass in one hand and stretch you other arm out with the camera in it, now make a face like your constipated (you already mastered that) and do not forget the Ray Charles and...................................................................................................................................... Snap - you now have a perfect rendition of avids famous photo technique for capturing the black bass and things that go bump in the night. P.S. Good luck and have fun. LOL that made me laugh.
  6. joez2872 you seem to have the same kinds of outings I have. We both seem to get a lot of dinks and each trip we end up getting a few 2-3 pound bass....
  7. Thats a nice bass. its probably around 3.5 pounds.
  8. That spittin image is a realy great bait
  9. Very well written report. Nice to hear about the entire day someone had in detail. Seems you had a good day with a 5 pounder and a 2.5 pounder. How did your grandfather in law do?
  10. A 20 inch bass wouldent weigh 6 LBS anyway. A 20 inch bass would be between 4 and 5 lbs....
  11. That bass is around 2.5 LBS and is NOT 20 inches.... Here is a picture of a 2.5 LB bass I caught that was 16 inches and it still looks bigger than his.....
  12. I had the same thing happen to me once except it was with one trebble hook in a one pound bass and the other trebble hook in my hand.... IT HURTS...
  13. I actually believe Fish Chris's average is probably like 7-8 lbs. Fish Chris actually does weigh his fish with a scale and I often see him post pics of 10 lb bass on here that were actually weighed. Thing is even though he catches lots of huge fish he does not catch many fish. He often goes out for over 5 hours and only catches one bass. However that bass is usually over 8 lbs and often over 10. He usually throws baits that are about 8 inches long which rules out the possibility of catching the fish under four pounds most fishermen often catch. Occasionally a smaller fish will hit this bait but not very often. I dont realy understand this method of fishing though since throwing a normal size bait WILL catch you the big 10LB+ fish as well as the normal size bass as well..... Thing is Fish Chris's method of fishing pretty much catches BIG FISH ONLY so he has a huge average weight average....
  14. That bass needs to go to the gym.....
  15. I just realized I got a great avid style pic..... this pic is taken avid style but with a decent camera.....
  16. We realy do need to start a "get avid a new camera fund"
  17. I have just gotten into senko fishing this year so maybe I will get bored with it. I dont know if I will though since it seems to catch me a decent fish every outing. Im going to my local sporting goods store today to pick up the black/blue flake senkos. From what I have heard they work great. It realy seems the color change helped though because I was not catching as many good bass with the green ones recently. I also havent tried all of the ways to use a senko yet so I have a lot more ways of fishing the senko to try before I get bored with it completely. Yeah I agree catching nice bass on topwater and other hard jerk baits is much more fun.
  18. Hey Fish Chris. I think this catch would probably get a line class record. You should see what the line class record is for a sturgeon on the line you were useing. I bet you just set a new one. You should submit the catch....
  19. Another nice fish. How much did that one weigh? About 4 lbs?
  20. Havent I seen several other pics of your son with nice bass on here? Hes going to grow up to be a pro if he already catches fish like that at his age.
