Lately, I have been enjoying the Bass Pro Shops show. I find it to be very informative. I like how they use a few different pros each episode to show different key techniques. Not to mention the whole show is on bass. On the other side, is Rolland Martin's show. I feel like he has completely sold out to sponsors and commercials. He can not go more than two minutes w/o dropping some sponsors name, sometimes even repeating that sponsor multiple times in one episode. For instance, accu view camera, lowrance electronics and his sun screen are mentioned every show at length. I have read that he is recently divorced and his wife took everythingmaybe that's why???

congrats. when i fish senkos i clamp the barb down all the way. it makes getting gut hooks out a lot easier. ive never lost one doing it this way. hope this helps. the 5 inch should get you larger fish too...

thanks guys. just ordered the spot remover and berkley shaky worms. I noticed the pic attached detailing how to rig this set up...is the hook put just barely in or is it hooked all the way through and out the other end kinda like a senko??? thanks

When I started fishing senkos I felt the same way. I thought your hook up ratio would drop dramatically by burying the hook. A friend of mine buried the hood and then proceeded to lightly touch the hook showing me how easily it pops out during a hook set. I have no problems loosing fish. You just have to gain confidence using it. Give it time and you'll get it. In my opinion I catch more of my fish by watching the line vs. actually feeling a tick, tick. Hope this helps.

i use a lot of scents. However, my main reason is to mask "foreign" scents. I have also heard they prolong the senkos life by alowing it to glide through snags more easily.

Hello all. I fish a lot of plastics and do quite well. I can not get anything going w/ the Fat Ika. I have tried it backwards w/ a 3 or 4 ewg hook. Based on how I am rigging it I think the hook up ratio would be rather low. Any ideas I should try? Should this be fished similar to a senko?

are u fishing it weightless and weedless?

I have tried them a few times recently with no success. I have been disappointed every time. They seem to get hung up very easily. I was fishing it more like a jig which could be the problem. Just my opinion. Good luck.

what size hook are u guys using. I had success w/ a # 3. I was thinking of trying a # 4. I normally slow hop mine. Do you think this most resembles a crawfish???

After the initial cast i like to wait 10-15 seconds. I find most my fish come at this time. I prefer the 5 inch senko. Its weight is perfect to be fished weightless. i do not wacky rig mine, I prefer to texas rig. This setup enters the water w/ little disturbence. you can never go wrong w/ watermellon as well...good luck. Aaron

I agree with everything u said. I am in the same situation. I think the novelty of a new boat would wear off and the long drive would no longer make much since.

Hello all. I am fishing a new small local lake tomorrow am. I am fishing from shore unfortunatley. I am focusing my time on the dam area. It is very rocky and max depth of 12 feet. Any lure suggestions? I was thinking top water. I was there today and did ok for being mid afternoon. My only concern is the algae that I kept getting on my sinkos and cranks... any ideas greatly appreciated.
