  1. i went out the other day for the first time this year and had problems with my big motor. it started fine but did not have enough power to get on plane. with all the rain here i had time to clean the carbs and replace old gaskets etc before i ever got on the water. i put regular sta-bil in the tank for the first time (not the marine) could this cause the problem??? i mixed it as the bottle said. thanks robbie
  2. i just bought one so i hope its not a pos. i fish by myself alot and thought it would make life a little easier. i will let ya know what i think after the install. robbie
  3. went to the lake and the sonar worked nice! what a picture! i was skunked but happy with the install. man im going to have to take the instruction book out on the lake with me a few times to figure all of it out. thanks again for all the help. robbie
  4. thanks for the help again. i was getting ready to start installing it and we were put under a tornado warning! the @#%$ weather this year has killed my spring fishing. i have not been able to wet a hook yet. i just sit in front of the computer and buy stuff i cant use because of the rain! lol robbie
  5. thanks fish4$$$$! i guess i was just scared because of the units price. i will do it myself for sure . robbie
  6. I just bought a lowrance hds-7 from bps. I had planned to install it myself but when i saw that it had not only a black and red wire it had a yellow, blue ,orange, green and shield wire also. not understanding all this i figured letting a pro do the install would be the best thing. im just wondering whats a fair price to have this installed? thanks robbie
  7. I cant think of the name but they make a product that is like cardboard strips that you put in your boxes to prevent rust. Just wondering what they are called,do they work and where to get them?? thanks robbie
  8. thanks for the input. i went ahead and bought a lowrance hds-7 . it looks really sweet on the simulator mode at bps. the salesman said it looks just as good on the water. it will upgrade to the side view when it comes out. i was going to hook it up tonight but got scared when i saw alot more wires on it than the eagle i put in. im afraid im gona blow up $1,300 in smoke. ha guess i will have it put in by a pro. thanks again robbie
  9. I now use a eagle 320 and want to upgrade to one of the newer color/gps models. I can spend in the area of $1,000 to $1,500 if needed to get the right unit. Im torn because i have always used lowrance or eagle products but the sideview on the hummingbird units seems great. I went to the lowrance website and they said they had their own version of sideview due out sometime this year. Both brands have so many units to offer im just having a hard time picking one. I would appreciate any input on your units (pros/cons) what i really dont need etc. Im not a tournament fisherman but do fish quite a bit. Very large lakes to very small ones. Any help from you guys would be so very much appreciated !! robbie
  10. just bought a few packs of these and wondered if anyone has tried them yet? the guy at bps said they were new. they look really interresting! im guessing you fish them wacky style (hence the name). robbie
  11. Infidel save your time and money and go to thunderbird rather than draper. there is hardly and cover in the lake at all.(grass) the electro-surveys have been aweful the past ten years or more. im sure there are a few nice fish in there somewhere but the time and effort you would spend there is just not worth it. danceswithbass is right about wes watkins. the only thing people dont like about it is you have to pay $7 to fish from the bank and another $7 to put your boat on there. the plus with that is it keeps the parties and teenie boppers away. mostly just hardcore fishermen there. good luck... robbie choctaw ,oklahoma
  12. well darn! wish they were already for sale. i just placed my order with megastrike on the shake2 and evo jigs a few minutes ago. i picked up 2 of the buzzbaits why i was at it. the looked to good to pass up. im sure the spinner baits will look the same. robbie
  13. i was a die hard rat'l trap only man until i saw the way the red eye shad looked when it was falling. now i use it more.
  14. Thanks for all the help! wow bobby the pics are great! i will be ordering mine tonight. where is the best place to get these online? i have been using broadway tackle, another site and tackle warehouse for everything.is there a better place to shop? thanks again robbie
  15. thanks for all your replies. Crestliner thanks for the tip. i guess i will get another wiggle rig kit. i really figured more people would have commented on this subject because of the amazing action it has . i guess its not used as much as i thought it was. thanks again robbie
  16. im wanting to order some of these and just want to know what is the best sizes to get? (most commonly used size) thanks robbie
  17. I bought a wiggle rig kit last year but before i could use them they were stolen out of my boat. i am thinking about getting another kit but wanted to know if anyone here has used them and are they worth reordering? i saw a video on the web last year and they looked UNREAL! or i should say they made anything you use them with look REAL ! thanks in advance for any help robbie
  18. Crucial ! i just dont think there is enough difference in the two to justify paying an extra $100 for the imx. my thinking is buy the crucial and spend the $100 you saved on some nice lucky craft baits! ;D
  19. wow! that sounds awesome!
  20. i asked this same question the other day but only got 1 response. i guess they are still pretty new and not many people own/used them yet? i went to bps last week to buy the new curado e5 and was going to get one of the us reels too but the bps in oklahoma city does not carry them yet. im going to check in some other forums for info on them and if i find anything i will let ya know. robbie
  21. thanks for the chance! that was easy. robbie
  22. try one of vandams books. i thought they were great.
  23. Fish Formula ( original scent ) ha! ;D
  24. thanks for all you guys help. i went to bps yesterday and looked at several reels. the salesman showed me a david fritts crankin reel, the new revo winch and the curado e5. the fritts reel was a little sloppy feeling but half the price of the other two. i ended up buying the curado. i did a lil yard fishin last night with a 1/4 oz weight and loved it!! cant wait to go fishing with it for real! thanks again robbie
