  1. I love the rage chunks and the rage craws. They've eliminated all my other trailers and craw baits. 8-) I've tried the shad to no avail. I need to give it more of a chance. The 10" anaconda is a beast. Caught a great 3-3.5 lber the other day on it. The toads seem alright, I don't really fish toad baits but I have friends who really like them. Same with the space monkey, I've fished it a little and haven't had much luck but seen alot of other guys get bit like crazy on them. They're just more tools to add to the arsenal 8-)
  2. Some sales associate wasnt doing their job very well. ;D
  3. Yeah alot of good, running, nice aluminum boats can be found under $5000. I'm in the $8k-$10k range at the moment. There's ALOT of good deals to be had in mid-late 90s glass boats right now. I'm just searchin for the one thats meant for me. 8-) Worthy of a mention: you can buy a NEW bass tracker 16 ft. boat, motor, and trailer for $7999 right now.
  4. I've never heard 1 hour of boat time = 5 hours of maintenance. Gosh dang, after an 8 hour tournament I'd have 40 hours of maintenance racked up. I think I'd run out of things to maintain!! ;D Aluminum bass boats are great if you just wanna upsize a little. They generally are smaller and have smaller motors than alot of glass boats. They get better gas mileage, their small size lets you navigate up a little further in those creeks, and they can take quite a beating. Of course you'll generally sacrifice speed, storage, and to a certain degree: stability. I had a 91 Tracker 17' and while it was a good boat to get me out and about, I'm glad to be moving up to a a bigger glass boat. 8-) What kind of price range are you lookin at?
  5. Never heard of that before... :-?
  6. I mostly play waw but I still have mw. nuclearpenguinx and I will smoke all of you 8-)
  7. Looks like typical Kansas weather to me. ;D 8-)
  8. Yup, you just gotta ask alot of specific questions and get detailed pictures if they can provide them. I spent 2 hours in the loan office getting approved for a loan on a cobra. Drove 3.5 hours down to pick it up and found out it had a chunk of gelcoat missing out of the bottom the size of a frying pan and stress cracks in the transom gel coat. To top it off, the seller was IRKED AT ME for "wasting his time". Pffft. Just gotta keep grinding away at it, the right boat is out there!! 8-)
  9. BFLs and they also had a tour event up there earlier this year. I'm sure there's a ton of clubs around.
  10. +1 on the Curado. Or a Citica if you can't find a Curado in the price range. I own both and love them.
  11. I could've given you advice on how to catch em at Iron Forks River. But I'd be talkin out my yahoo. Never even heard of such a place.
  12. I live a ways away but I fish BFLs and what not down there. I hear they have a bit of a theft problem. It's a nice lake, great fishing and alot of attractions around to keep you busy. 8-)
  13. Ok, it hasn't seemed to help me catch any fish. In fact, I haven't caught anything with it yet (but I haven't given it much of a chance either) HOWEVER!! A week ago, I dipped a rage tail craw. Fished it for a few hours over the course of a couple days. I apparently put it in my pocket when the craw got worn down. TODAY, my dad brings me this craw and throws it in my room (it had gone through the washer!!!) and it STILL has enough scent to make my room reek.
  14. String King 3x 8-)
  15. See? Even this guy is ashamed to be fishin em!! ;D
  16. Got some. Doesn't help me much lol. I'll keep trying. 8-)
  17. Zoom trick worms, rage tail craws, senkos. Try anything!
  18. Apparently the fishing on KY lake is pretty amazing right now according to the Stren series results. I'll be down there for a college tourney on Sat. 8-)
  19. The water's droppin super fast now. They predict itll be at or near Summer pool on Sat. 8-)
  20. If you guys wanna see a fun one: http://www.swt-wc.usace.army.mil/FGIB.lakepage.html I had a BFL there this weekend. We floated over where my boaters truck was parked the day before. Most docks & slips were only accessible by boat. We were on one of the last boat ramps still open and I wouldn't doubt if it's closed today. This stuff is getting ridiculous. I have a college tournament on KY lake this coming weekend. Hope it gets back down some. (wishful thinking right? ;D) Also I went turkey hunting this morning by a smaller reservoir here in KS and a dried up river bottom I normally hunt in was FULL of water. I'm guessing 15-20 feet deep.
  21. Most reports say the brownies are but not the LM's yet. They should be by the time we get there, hopefully. Thanks for the tips RW, we'll be sure to post up and let you know how we did. 8-)
  22. I've never really fished for them but I've caught them before. They fight ok. Not really dangerous so long as you don't get into them teeth. I've heard of guys tying string loosely around their lures to get tangled in their teeth because their skin is too tough to penetrate. They're gross. I've been known to beat them with oars. I've caught em on a topwater while fishing for bass. I'd assume you can catch them on most bass lures. Maybe someone else will have a better idea. Good luck and snap some pics! 8-)
  23. I work at a Dick's and handgun ammunition has gone crazy since the election. We'll get 20 cases of 9mm in (10,000 rounds) and someone will buy every bit of it as soon as we open.
