  1. I plan on buying within the next several years. Here in the midwest it seems much better to buy as opposed to rent, but I'm sure it's a much different situation elsewhere (where house prices are unruly imho). My parents bought their house for $110,000~. 3 Bdrm, 1.5 bath with an unfinished basement built only 3-4 years before purchasing. Best part? It's a pond lot. To get something like that near the coast there would be another zero on the end I love Kansas
  2. Welcome!! Another Jersey guy? Oh noezzz. ;D
  3. I bought some 20# for my last tourney. Good, durable stuff. I won't ever put it on spinning gear again though. ;D It'll be my go-to for high-test mono. For lower test I still prefer the trilene maxx, feels quite a bit more manageable.
  4. Depends on what you're fishing and what the conditions are. At any given time I might have a different line on each of my four rods. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/selecting_line.html There's also several other articles in the "equipment" section of the site. If I expect to come across clear water I'll use fluorocarbon for just about all my setups. Probably the 12-15 lbs. range. Braid for topwaters If I'm fishing mostly dingy/stained/muddy water I'll use 15-20 lbs. mono for most of my setups and 20 lbs. braid for flippin/pitchin. Braid is unforgiving when it comes to backlashes though so mono is usually a little bit better for just everyday fishin. 8-)
  5. Wow that's a heckuva deal . Maybe we'll just let the shop do ours...
  6. I don't know about a transom but for our decking we're using birch plywood coated in fiberglass resin/hardener to seal out the water. Haven't got it out on the water yet so I can't vouch but I've heard of people doing it before. 8-)
  7. I dated a mormon girl once. Made for a good excuse when she found out I was cheating on her. "Well come on babe, polygamy is in your history!" ;D All it takes is a few whackos to break away and make a whole church look like a bunch of kooks (Fundamentalist CLDS vs. CLDS). Aint no different than the WBC calling themselves "baptists".
  8. Kind of like a trunk monkey...cept it's a "Livewell Dolphin"!!! ;D
  9. ;D ownage ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!!!!
  10. spinnerbait or senko but there's nothing I love more than fishing a topwater popper if the conditions permit it 8-)
  11. Lost a chatterbait today and a rat-l-trap at the last tourney.
  12. Thats perfect for you, cuz u don't drink u just sniff the beer and pass out... We have been spending all this time at montys listening this, its wearing off on us. Current artist: eric church jason boland CCR Older artists: waylan jenning merle There are a bunch of others but im usually toast by the time I listen to them and i can never remember their names haha shut up ;D I love CCR, I need to download more CCR. btw nice sig. "ISAAC!!! CAPTAIN BLACK IS THE CAPTAIN OF THIS BOAT!!! SHUDDUP AND SIT DOWN!" ;D ;D
  13. 93 Accord @ 235,000 miles. I plan on keeping it for the rest of my life (I have friends with similar cars and alot of spare parts/motors). It's just too dang good of a car. Bought it for $400 too, and I drive it back and forth from Wichita to Pburg (170~ miles)all the time without even thinking twice. Best investment I've ever made.
  14. Depends where I'm at and what I'm fishing. If I'm fishing deeper structure I'll probably switch back and forth between a crank and spinner over and over. If it's more shallow, I'm going to keep throwing a senko or whatever soft plastic I'm feeling for that day. As far as colors, I pretty well have the color(s) picked out for the day before I even get to my spot. Depends on the forage and water clarity for me. I narrow it down to 1, maybe 2 at most, colors.
  15. I haven't been fishing long enough to develop "firm" preferences in particular brand names. If it's a soft plastic from *** I'll throw it, other than that gimme whatcha got and I'll let you know what I think. 8-)
  16. +1! You wouldn't think they would be up in the shallows but you'd be surprised. At Grand a few weeks ago the water temp was 45-50 degrees, looked like chocolate milk, and was wind blown. I still managed to pull a 2-10 fish out of a bush up 4 feet from the bank :-?
  17. KS is a mess this year. Just when we think it's warming up it rains and drops to 40-50 degrees. :
  18. If you guys aren't familiar with them I highly suggest googling Westboro Baptist Church. If reading what's in this thread upset you, wait til you read what's on their website. :-/ Unbelievable...
  19. Word. I think I'll give em a shot at my tournament this weekend though.
  20. I'm hooked on Kevin Fowler!! Thanks for the suggestion, guys. "I aint drinkin any more... but I aint drinkin any less!" ;D
