  1. I believe that ,, Barley Straw bales are what is used to treat ponds.. not hay or alfalfa,, but they may make good structure for a while.. I would think they would fall apart and settle flat to the bottom after time.. Just my thought..
  2. 13" ~ 15 " mostly.. never weighed any that small ... so probably about the same as posted.. 1-1 1/2 # I rarley get any under 12",, get a lot 15-18" but above 18" or 3# is tuff here in Michigan on small lakes. I would say I have caught about 12-15 fish 18" or bigger this year,, and only 1 over 20" and thats out of over 350 bass caught this year.. So Far... going again in the morning... 6:30 am..
  3. I have 3-4 of each.. black,,white & chart,, a couple sizes.. I like the buzz better than the Spinner,, Its awsome to catch bass on any top water.. But also as mentioned,, I prefer the ribbit for top water..it rocks for me !!! Raul,, You do not like soft plastics ???? are you the one that loves to sort through the big barrell at the shoe factory ?? : I personally prefer soft plastics over all other baits.. I use soft plastics 80% of the time..
  4. is swimming a jig back to the boat any good at all ??
  5. the same thing goes for flat sided senko type baits,, the fish do not care if they are 100 % round or have a flat side. 8-)
  6. Hmm, I wonder if you would have tried it with the legs ( as you called them ) to the back so it looked like the tube ??
  7. how & where are you fishing these?? --- texas,, weightless..Caro,,, ect.. slow retrieve,,, fast ,, ect... deep water,, shallow..ect.
  8. I have the fall rate real close to the real thing.. but still working on getting it as close to exact as poss. in all areas!
  9. hold the button on it down til it clears out and goes to all zero's before using... just a thought. 8-)
  10. WOW!!! There is a lot of you guys that like to ... ZOOM,,ZOOM,,ZOOM... Hmmmm ?? what's so good about them ?? price... scent... colors... quality.. 8-)
  11. whats the length ?? what time of year?? I caught one last week that was 20" long and had 14 1/2 girth' and it only weighed 3pounds 15 oz. I would have guess it at 5 pounds.. but it was not even 4 # ---- also. you can check your digital scale rite in your kitchen.. with ,, say.. 1# bag of beans or macaroni,, 5# bag of sugar or flour... or what ever you have,, just remember, the weight on the package is for the contents only,, not the container.. this will not be exact to the 1/2 ounce but will be close... fish on !!!! 8-)

  16. where can you buy soft plastic skirts to put on poured plastic baits .. other than Yamamoto??
  17. Jeff C. replied to rboat's topic in Fishing Tackle
Most soft plastics are heavily scented when made.. I do believe this helps.. to put more on mite help also.. but its a hassle,, time consuming and all that other stuff while fishing,, soaking them the nite before.. not a bad Idea,, I try to leave the baits in there package and these packages have scent in them.. when I pour my own I put scent in the bait & in the bag,, just my opinion.. works for me...
  18. I see a lot of Fat Ika's on the list.. ?? I just started to pour my own.. (never bought any Yami's..yet, got 1 pk on order to compare to ) I got My PB yesterday on my own hand poured Fatty.. I now love-um.. Jeff
  19. If you are having a lot of gut hooks.. then pinching the barb down ( as mentioned above ) mite be a good Idea.. If I can not see the point and can not get the hook out. then I push the point through so I can see it.. I figure thats better than leaving the hook in.. If you hook your self or your buddy thats what that the doctor does,, push it through and cut it off.. Jeff
  20. If I gut hook. I slide the plyers up through the gills and cut the hook in half.. then pull the hook out point 1st.. Jeff
  21. I use the 4" Hula grubs Weedless Texas 2/0 EWG.. W/ a 1/8 bullet sinker and slow jerk um across the bottom and they work wonders on LM..
  22. I try not to throw a bait or 2 in the same spot more than 6-10 times, if there was not any hits on it, then I will move,, but I mite only move 2-4 boat lengths and give it 6- 10 more tosses.. after I figure out what color & retrieve they want, I move even sooner.. But, every one is different,,, It can depend also on who you have in the boat with ya..Some of my buddies are patient & others want to move on..
  23. I also have heard there is sand in the Yami... I thought glass was made out of sand,, Hmm..looks clear... must be it can be disolved ..
  24. Wow, I always ( well all most always ) take bananas fishing,, very easy & good snack on the boat.. --------- heres a couple.. Red Sky @ Nite......... Red Sky in Morning .......
