  1. About ten years ago, fishing the back of the boat, buddy rears back with a bomber model-a and catches me solid in the side of the neck after the back swing. Only one treble caught but that sucker was BURIED. Did the line trick and the hook popped right out. I swear I can still feel it when I think about it.
  2. I have three of them, and absolutely love them. Haven't tried any of the excels but if they close in quality to the certified pros, I'm sure they rock.
  3. Said it before and I'll say it again. Lami xc724 with the e7. Absolutely love this rod
  4. Got a buddy who has a smoke combo. Sweet looking setup for sure. I've thrown it plenty and certainly don't hate it, but it's not even in the same league as a curado. With the price they are going or now, you could ****** up two for about the same price as one smoke. No brainer
  5. So so sorry for your loss. That's a fine lookin pup
  6. 2-stage epoxy works great
  7. All casting for me as well Lami xc724/e7--senko and Ika Lami xmg724/e7--t-rig Lami xc704/e5--spinnerbaits and traps Powell 704c/e7--jigs & frogs-- newest setup, really diggin it Vendetta 6'3" m/sx-- topwater Cabelas xmlti 7' h/100d--jigs, frogs, heavy t- rigs Custom 5'8" buggy whip on XML blank/old quantum iron round reel--slabs
  8. 1. T-rigged power worm 2. Fat ika 3. Outcast rt jig w/ chigger craw
  9. Curado 100d. Indestructible
  10. I do it constantly. Even carry clippers. Guess old habits are hard to break...
  11. Throw a 4" or 5" senko till your arm falls off
  12. Gonna get split opinions on this one. Reaction bait guys will say it's all about the reel. Contact bait guys will say the rod.
  13. Tried it all as far as line goes. Now I use 12 or 15 lb yo Zuri on every one of my setups except flipping stick. You will be perfectly happy with your choice.
  14. That's an awesome vid! I've fished in my tube 3-4 times without much luck. Guess I just haven't hit the right pond at the right time. Will def be back now
  15. Lake Burtschi just south of Chickasa. Spent many hours in the tube there--always did well. Also try Taylor lake near Rush Springs. I fished the refuge several times but never did too well.
  16. Matzuo Weedless wide gap in 2/0. Get em on eBay in bulk and save a ton. The weed guard will come unwound after you catch a few fish but doesn't bother me too much cause then I can use them in open water. With a gycb senko, no weight necessary.
  17. Welcome! Always glad to see a fellow metro mess angler.
  18. Love that setup. The 724 is is a sweet senko rod!!
  19. This kid is crazy talented. Probably a ba in every sport he tries.
  20. Ring fry is an awesome c-rig bait. Also love them t-rigged weightless
  21. Lami xc724. They don't call it the "senko special" for nothin.
  22. I'm with hammer on this. Sorta feel more in control with a lower gear ratio. I use the same setup for spinnerbaits, shallow cranks and traps. Curado E5 on a lami 704
  23. Aren't these rods amazing?? I bought the 7'6" MH for deep cranking and couldnt ask for a better rod for this application. They are awesome rods. Recoil guides, micro click reel seat. If I could have justified it, woulda picked up a couple more
  24. Have been an Abu Garcia guy all my life. Took the shimano plunge last summer and picked up an e7. Long story short...all but one sx have been sold/traded for curados. IMHO, it's a no brainer---curado owns the $200 & under reels
