  1. I've only had it a couple months, but my NRX 804c is a stud! It's great for everything from jigs to chatterbaits to hollow bodies. It's also ba with a Fat Ika. I really love this stick!
  2. It's great stuff. I brush my teeth with it, put it on my toast, etc...
  3. I was on some hard times a coupe years ago and had to sell some gear. Included in that gear was a MINT 50th anniversary Zillion. It still breaks my heart.
  4. Not necessarily out of that range if you are ok with it not being new. I grabbed mine off the used rod rack at a local shop for about $125.
  5. If you can find one, the Cumara reaction 6'3" medium is sweet for smaller topwaters.
  6. That's a smokin deal! My dealings with Japan sellers have been great. If you don't mind, I'd love to know who the seller was.
  7. Perhaps exclusivity would have been a better title choice than loyalty. I'm glad to see this thread not turn into a dumpster fire.
  8. Thanks to Raul. I saw this quote in another thread and it really got me thinking. This quote rings especially true for me with regards to my reels. I started off fishing Quantum reels as a youngster. I thought that they were "it". That is, until I got my hands on a gen 1 Revo STX. This was a game changer for me. All of the sudden, I was an Abu guy. I ended up with 3 or 4 STX's and 2 SX's. All was fine and good for a year or two. I got a nice little bonus from work and decided to grab a Curado E7. I was blown away. I had never felt a reel so smooth and easy to use. Next thing I know, I'm ditching the Revos and "upgrading" to Shimanos. Somewhere along the line, I got my hands on a Zillion. Wow! What a machine this dude was. So here I go again...traded a couple Curados for Zillions. I grabbed a Sol, an Alphas and a 153 HSTA. I was officially a Daiwa guy! But, I wasn't satisfied. I missed the power of my Revos and the reliability of my Curados. Then, the light bulb went off in my thick head. They were all great reels that served their own purpose. Each one did certain things better than others. I have wasted so much time, effort, and money over the years attempting to pigeonhole myself into using only one manufacturer. My lineup presently has several of each of the "big 3" and honestly, I'm pretty stoked with my current arsenal. My obsession at the moment is pimping out my Daiwa's, but I'm sure that will change, and I'm cool with that. Now for my rods, I'm definitely a Loomis guy, or maybe it's Dobyns, or it could be Lamiglas........
  9. My addiction does not discriminate....
  10. Definitely a bizarre situation. But there is no way this kid's gonna be a bust. He's as natural a backer as I can remember watching. His first step is almost always correct. Dude is just a straight ballhawk. Kinda reminds me of Zach Thomas--ALWAYS around the ball.
  11. Somehow that model got right by me..never heard of it. Either way, it's sick!
  12. Is that a gen 2 premier on the right? What spool is that?
  13. Go to the customer service desk, tell them why you are there, and ask if you could meet/speak to the Manager. Look him in the eye and slap a FIRM handshake on him. Make him believe that you're the right man for the job. Luckily my shop doesn't have too much turnover, but when I do go though the hiring process, I remember the guys who come in confident.
  14. I grabbed one on sale for about $40 a few years ago. It felt like junk right out of the box. Free spooled for about 1/2 a second. Not much better when I got it on the water. It felt like a coffee grinder. I never got around to taking it back--it's probably buried in the garage somewhere.
  15. I say sell/trade em. I just sent a bunch of old, unused gear to THUT that should bring enough to get me into a Megabass/PXR setup
  16. Slider grub for small profile/shallow running, Swing impact for larger profile/mid depths, Chigger craw for bottom buzzing and muddy water.
  17. Thanks for the suggestions. I have a pair of Georgia Muddogs that I wear outside of work, but they get quite uncomfortable after awhile. I think I may have made a mistake going to the Wesco website--those are crazy nice. Ima probably have to grab a pair.
  18. The winter bite can be super tough. Sometimes you just ain't gonna get bit.
  19. So, I spend about 10-12 hrs a day on my feet. I prefer a cowboy style boot w/o laces. I've tried what seems like every boot under the sun and have yet to find a pair that I love. Currently wearing Ariats that I've had about 3 months.. While they're ok(just ok) as far as comfortability, they have worn through the leather on the toes. Any suggestions?--I'm tired of spending $3-$400 a year just to have sore feet.
  20. For smaller baits I use a Cumara Reaction 6'3 M and a Lami Don Iovino 6'2 ML. For spooks and bigger baits its hard to beat the Dobyns 705CB glass/fast
  21. I have always been a huge Biggio fan, but I just don't see him in the hall. Had he not played for 700 years the numbers wouldn't have been there. Also, if the juicers #'s were legit they'd be in no doubt and Biggio would be so far down the ballot list he'd be an afterthought.
  22. What a frickin joke! BPS boycott mode engaged!
  23. Yeah...kinda missed on that one. As much as I hate to say it, A&M is for real. Looks like that program is ready to blow up in a big way.
