  1. BR really does have some great sponsors. I use many of their products not only because they help keep this board going, but because they are truly the best in their class. Congrats on your new partnership with Siebert!
  2. To much work for me. If they're only biting deep cranks, I ain't catching squat that day.
  3. They are money on a swim jig. I use the 3.8 and the 4.8. Their durability is crap, but their action is unbeatable IMO.
  4. May he ride his mower right through the pearly gates
  5. Shoot, just chunk it out there and reel it back in. I'll go like 5 casts at a normal pace, 5 slow, 5 fast, and so on. Just kinda play with your retrieve; stop & go, quick jerks, etc. If you haven't dialed in any fish after a bunch of casts, just move on to something else.
  6. I've tend to do better with moving baits this time of year. Almost all of my fish this spring have come on a swim jig.
  7. WTG, partner! Just in time for summer....on a hot roof..... J/K, congrats!
  8. ^^^I agree fully^^^^ I'd much rather have 1 setup that I love than 2-3 that I'm "ok" with.
  9. I'm not really much with spinning gear but sounds to me like you need an all purpose casting setup; ie 6._:1 reel with a 6'6" to 7' MH/F rod and then a spinning setup to compliment it.
  10. I wouldn't pigeonhole myself into buying a "combo". I'd find the rod & reel I want and them pair em up. May cost you a few extra bucks but in the long run you'll be happier.
  11. It's been a number of years since I've been a country "fan", but I still love the stuff I grew up on. 1. George Strait 2. Garth 3. Alan Jackson 4. Randy Travis 5. Jr.
  12. I was noticing that too. The reel looks like a Chronarch 100B. No clue about the rod. Looks like a mag bass Loomis of some variant.
  13. My wife uses a Daiwa L&T spinning rod and a pro caster reel--with the all important hot pink reel grip. She's actually really good with it.
  14. I've had hell with work boots of late. My favorites are probably the Justin's, but even they aren't great. I've been wearing my Simms wading boots for a few weeks, and they are fantastic. I had to give up the steel toe, which is probably not an option for you, but I'm really digging them. At some point, ima have to try the Westco's, but they are super pricey. Pretty sure the OP recommended them on another post.
  15. TheHookup has a ton of rep sample rods right now. It's my understanding that they come with the full warranty and wildcard.
  16. No doubt about it, they are unreal sensitive. Easily the best bottom contact rods I have ever used.
  17. Yeah Chief, I'll take a Chinchilla!
  18. TW gets the majority of my business but I also frequently use Tackle Trap and TheHookUpTackle. Tackle Trap is cool bc they have a really nice selection of parts. The HookUp has a an awesome trade in program that I've used a few times. All three have top notch service.
  19. Is on. Just a totally random thought, but does anyone else HAVE to watch it every time it's on?
  20. I use cal's on my drags. Just broke down and reassembled my Calcutta and used NAPA sil-glide on the gears. It's the only grease that I use on brake caliper slides. Thought I'd give it a shot on a reel. I haven't had it out too much yet, but so far-so good.
  21. My arsenal is constantly changing, but as of right now these are my setups. I mainly use 6-8 of them and a few of my setups are mostly for white bass. 22. Really nice reel, but that price is way to steep. $125 tops for a used Fuego is more like it. I traded one in recently, and I think it brought about $110.
