What are your favorite fishing pictures?
Being a photographer, I'd love to see photos all of you have taken while out fishing. I'd love to start a great fishing photo story thread and get to see how everyone on BR sees fishing through their own eyes. Post funny fishing pictures! Post your kids fishing! Post beautiful scenes or any photo that brings back a great memory or says "fishing" to you. Thanks to Paul Roberts for inspiring me to make this post. Here's just a few images that bring back good memories for me.

LM Chasing Sunfish Montage
Paul I love your adoration for the sport. Being a pro photographer myself I've aleays had mixed feelings about photo manipulation. I use photoshop and understand why manipulation can be fun and artistic like in the photo you posted. At the same time there's something beautiful about the "truth" and "naturalness" of an honestly great image. When I first saw your photo I was actually blown away because I thought it was in a naturl setting and from that standpoint, a d**n near worthy picture for the pages of National Geographic, or at least a bass fishing magazine. Knowing it has been manipulated leaves me with a more empty feeling. Especially because it's animals/fish in the setting of nature. I personally like images of nature to be unmanipulated and "real," particularly of a picture that's subject matter is animal action. For example, to manipulate a shot of a cheetah killing a buffalo in Africa, where the actual actions of the animals in the photo never really happened, isn't as "sexy" as if what is going on in the photo happend because of "natural selection." That being said, I love the artistic side of what you did. You did a very nice job in terms of making the image asthetcally pleasing, with a great use of body language, emotion, and anticipation. You framed everything in the perfect manner and the light in the photo definately creates "mood." I, for one, like it. To answer your question, don't ever let anyone tell you, or at least don't listen, that ANYTHING you do that has to do with your art is a waste of time. This kind of thing shows your "love of the game" both in terms of fishing, and photography, and for someone to tell you that your version of "art" is a waste of time, is not anyone you want to be hanging out with anyway. Good job and definately not a waste of time.

What's Your Favorite Type of Strike?
Awesome stuff guys! Doesn't reading all these posts make ya realize just how much fun catching a LMB really is?! I read every post and put myself in your position, thinking about those little moments you all mentioned and was just chukling because I know the feeling. I'm so psyched to go fishing now and hook into a nice one I almost can't stand it. All the posts from the frog tossers really got me amped to go huck a Kermit into the thick stuff and watch what happens. ::licking my chops::

Skunked - HELP!!!
Huck a jig or a shakey head in the timber. Is there vegetation? Is the any brown and dying weeds? If so, brown weeds tend to house many more bass than green weeds do. That brown color gets warmer than the green does just like black top on the driveway gets hotter in the sun than your lawn does, and the bass know it. They love hanging just under the mats with their backs pretty much touching the bottom of the mat. Get a nice 1oz weight and drop into the cover. Let your bait fall to the bottom and then lift it up near the bottom of the mats and wiggle it etc. Let it fall rise and mess around with different jerking motions and speeds.

What's Your Favorite Type of Strike?
Mine used to be topwater, specifically a buzzbait. Obviously I still love it, but I've just re-fallen in love with that awesome feeling where I'm fishing a soft plastic, and I feel that "tick, tick" on my line. My heart gets pumping automatically and I love it. Then I get that amazing couple seconds, where I'm just waiting for my line to start moving, AND IT DOES! Now I know she's mine. All I have to do is set that hook! And how much FUN is it to set that hook?!?! I mean come ON! It's one of the single greatest feelings in all of sports for goodness sake! I LOVE the different events that happen on a great soft plastic strike. The heart races, the anticipation, the hook set, the fight. Weeeeeeeeeeee! How about you guys? What kinda strike do you guys dream about at night? Has your opinion changed over the years like mine, or has your favorite strike always been YOU'RE FAVORITE STRIKE?

What´s wrong in here ?
I'm all for listening to music while I fish fellas, But "YMCA" by the Village People??!! Come on guys you can get better tunes in the boat than that and you really don't have to dance to it while you're going 35 MPH!

How Ticked off do you get?
Good stuff guys, from what I've read it sounds like I need to work on my temper a little bit. I thought that might be the case, which is why I started this thread. I get a little emotional out there and noticed I do the same thing at the poker tables, where i make a pretty decent income. I'll try meditating more. Maybe that will help. :-) I guess what i learned from this post is fishing really isn't just about catching fish, It's about being out in nature, doing what you love, and if you're lucky, doing it with people you care about. Sometimes I forget that and take it all a little to seriously. Thanks for the therapy BR!

How Ticked off do you get?
I had on what I know d**n well was a "big" bass yesterday. I saw it's body and the splash it made when I hooked her. I felt the power of it struggling and my rod tip was bent and shaking back and forth way more violently than usual. What happened was I was fishing thick mats and I felt a big "tick tick" on my line, I set the hook but nothing was there. I recasted to the same spot and the same thing happened. It kinda made me a little frustrated, but again I recasted to the same spot and WHAM! I set the hook hard. I felt her head wiggle my rod tip bigtime, and I kept a tight line. I had her on for about 5-7 seconds and then she was just..... Gone. No broken line, just gone. The moment I realized she escaped, I found myself throwing my rod and reel down kinda hard on the hard dirt ground and I let out a really nice, loud F-Bomb. There were a couple people I didn't know walking near by and I was kina embarrased but still fuming and ticked off. It bothered me for about 90 minutes after I lost that bass, but bothered me even more that I got so mad. Anyone here confess to doing the same thing sometimes? I wonder if Mike Icconelli has to be edited every 5 minutes on fishing shows.

bass fly fishing
I've got tons of friends that fly fish here in Colorado. None of them were doing great trying for bass........... That is until I showed them the light. Wanna crush 'em on your fly rod? Go get some Gammy #3 EWG hooks and buy a bag on 4'' Watermelon seed Senkos. They're light and easy to cast on a fly rod. Spank the banks at your local pond and hold on.

What's your favorite deep water technique?
What hooks do you reccomend with the 10'' worm?

What's your favorite deep water technique?
Thats way to general bro. Can you tell me what are the best bobbers to use and how to throw them? Also, I'm confused. Is the reel supposed to be upside down? Or am i supposed to reel regularly, while I'M upside down? If it's the latter, how do you not get a headache? Do I take pain meds before i go? What works best? Advil? If so, how many and how often? If you're going to make a post, and try to answer a good question, at least be specific please so I know what's really up!

Mudder are you riggin' the Ika backwards on the jig?
-
What's your favorite deep water technique?
"Deep" is a relative term I know, but on the particular body of water I'm talking about, 12-15 feet is "deep." I catch a fish every 10 minutes flipping the banks on this lake but never get my 4-10 pounder there. Only 1 and 2 and 3 pounders. I feel like the true hogs are in deeper water, so I want to attack that water hard. There's not a ton of structure in this lake, but theres some wood and rip rap on the bottom in some parts. What I can tell from the few times I've thrown a deep diving crank bait in there, is that the bottom seems to be more rocky or pebbly than anything else but I honestly cant tell. No ridges, or humps or any other structure like I said nor is there much vegetation to work with. So you're fishing 15 feet of water in this lake. What's you're go to bait/technique? Dropshot? Deep Cranks? Jigs? Slowroll a spinnerbait? Slowroll a Swimbait? Other?

Shore fishing in August
Two words. Sweet and Beaver. T-rig it with weight and flip it in the wood. Senkos are always nice too. http://www.***.com/descpage-RISB.html

cold front
Downsize your baits. Go Slower. It's that simple. Try a little black and blue jig and crawl it slowly. I bet you get a fishy. Try Texas rigging (weightless) a 3 or 4 inch Senko as well. You might not catch the numbers you want, but you should get a couple/few.

Rigging Backwards
Ikas Beavers Tail Less Grubs Yamamoto Kreatures Senkos Senkos backwards? Okay Raul, it's on my "To Do" list Roger Oh God yea bro. EVERY time the fat end of my Senko starts looking like chopped hamberger, I re rig that sucker backwards. Gets me a few more fish for my money, and absolutely works just as good as rigging it from the head end. To be honest the Senko casts farther than any other worm I've used as it weighs more and is more has killer areodynamics, and when I rig it backwards it casts even further because there's more weight further away from the rod tip. Not a HUGE difference in distance, but it can give me a couple extra yards if I need it.

Fishing with friends... Bad or Good?
It might be different when you have a boat vs NOT having a boat. When you own your boat, you're the boss. You get to fish from the front of the boat or "allow" others to do so. When fishing from shore you're basically screwxed. The other night I fished alone. I got there at 6:30 and didn't catch a darn thing fan casting soft plastics for about 30 minutes. What did I do? Moved down 60 yards to where i absolutely KNOW my friend would have been fishing (standing) I throw in and BANG! A 4 pounder. On the very next cast? BANG! Another 4+ pounder. The friend I fish with cant even cast as far as needed to catch these bass, but he would have taken up valuable bank space that I needed to catch those two beautiful fish. The next night I called my friend and we met over at the pond. He brings his two sons who are very cool people but the entire bank line was now unfishable because I had my friend on my right, his son to my left, and his other son further left. I was stuck! SUUUURE I can go to another bank, but thats not the point. Besides, if i go to another bank I'm no longer "fishing with friends" so why bother calling them to go fishing in the first place? I think fishchris might have it right but a good mix is always good too. Still struggling with this one.

I'm giving you $150.00...
;D Send the $150.00 to Catt, fluke, Raul, or one of the other great guys here for lessons on how to catch fish with what you got. Hey, thanks for your input bro. That's the reason I come to this board. For genius comments and knowlege like that. Any chance you might write a book? No problem. I also took the liberty of adding to your 'knowledge'. However, due to my addiction to fishing I have no plans for a book. I'll keep you posted. P.S. Lighten up some. Several us of here joke around whether we know you or not. No offense is ever intended. Please review this thread: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1247852814/0 You sure got me confused man. Let me get this straight. You can post a sarcastic, funny comment in my thread to me, but when I do it back to you, I'm being uncool and need to lighten up? Errrrrrrrrrrrrr, Uhhhhhhhhhhhh........... Not exactly seeing the logic here. In any case, you can trust my feelings are still in tact and I've stopped crying. Although, because of your comments, I'm going to start seeing a psycologist on Monday. ;D

I'm giving you $150.00...
.....Well, kinda. I have $150.00 to spend at the tackle store on BAITS ONLY. I DON'T need topwater as I have plenty. I DON'T need plastic worms like Senkos as I have plenty. I DO need other plastics however. Keep in mind I fish lots of vegatation and lots of brush piles. Lots of rock piles for smallies as well. Also keep in mind I want to try the shakey head technique for the first time so include your favorite shakey head setup if you have one. What EXACTLY are you guys buying with $150.00 if you're me? Please don't just answer "Crankbaits" or "Swimbaits" or "creature baits" Please be specific. Thanks All !

Vintage Heddon Wood Lures
Anyone know anything about old lures and how much they're worth? I have 5 or 6 super old wooden Heddon lures that I wouldn't mind selling on e-bay of they are worth anything. Just noticed some guy sold one for $31,000 and that got my heart pumping. I also have an old wooden Poe lure that's hand painted but have no idea what that's worth either. Any ideas to find out how much these lures could be worth if anything at all?
