Spot on.  Problem is where do you park your vehicle?  That's where they bust your chops.

If I have any questions about parking I call the local PD and ask.  I've never had a problem when asking.

Are we thinking blueberry has a fishable LMB population?

In general I would think the larger fish would hang back (or down) a little bit while the smaller fish would be the more aggressive feeders, but certainly not always the case. Keep in mind it can also be tough to tell the size of fish you’re seeing on traditional sonar returns, longer or bigger arch doesn’t necessarily mean a bigger fish, there’s a lot of factors that go into the kind of return you’re getting from the transducer pings.

 

that said, a bigger or flashier bait can sometimes temp the bigger ones into striking your lure when “matching the hatch” won’t.

 

Im headed out to Webster tomorrow I believe, I hope I can find some of the same schooling fish and produce some results.

I picked Blueberry because of the name and the Colonial ordinance reference.  

 

I figure there’s a senior member around here who fished during that period....

 

 

Went to UP State NY on my annual fishing trip.  Wednesday it was gorgeous so i had to go out back off the dock and catch a couple stripers even tho we were leaving that night and i should of been packin.  Drove  all night got up there 8 am Thursday.  Thursday is was the best day, caught my very first Atlantic Salmon, (not a landlock). Im so happy I caught it.  Caught a nice big king and a good brown. hooked and lost a few fish that day. friday same spot. i managed a big brown, a nice steelhead and a king. Caught a few gobys, rock bass and white perch while going after walleye. My first gobys, caught a lot of them.   Lost a big brown and what could of been my first Coho. IM ON A MISSION FOR ONE. IT KILLS ME I HAVENT CAUGHT ONE YET.  the big brown went under a d**n stringer of fish that was to far out in the water and it broke off. 
Saturday was a bit tougher, we fished a few new areas. I hooked into many fish, lost all of them, big fish and super light line, hard to land em.  Hooked into a lot of kings, but i was out gunned. Had zero chance. I hooked into a very big brownie. broke off. My buddy said it was at least 15lbs, it was a giant.  unfortunately with alot of people around, they dont always know to not cast when someone is fighting a fish. GOD d**n IT I HATE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!! 

after i got back home from the long drive, i saw fish busting out back, grab the rod and caught a couple schoolies on topwater. Now back to reality =(

Nice mud sharks!  A bonus Atlantic is pretty cool, too.

Nice fish Mike!  I wasn’t aware you could still catch a sea-run Atlantic salmon up there, thought the pacific transplants and landlocked were all that was available, pretty cool.  I fished Ontario in May for Kings a few years back, we struck out and ended up with some lake trout instead.  I’ve been meaning to head up to NY for the fall spawning run but haven’t made it there yet.  The sheer numbers of fish I see caught every year makes it look easy!  Is it as easy as it looks?  If I went up there for a weekend would I find Kings like that? 

Atlantics have been making a comeback.

yea lake o had a huge atlantic fishery back in the day.  we saw alot caught the first day then the rest of the trip none

Planned on heading to Plymouth this morning but diverted to Wampatuck State Park.  I've fished here on/off most of my life and have never done that well.  Today was the first decent trip I've had here with 9 bass, one crappie and one pick.  Everyone but one 2-2 LMB was a pound or less, but for mid-day fishing in brisk wind, I'll take it.

 

Most fish were caught on different colored square bills.  A couple were caught on a wacky rigged Senko and bluegill colored Rage Tail Menace.

 

Water temps were 60.x - 61.x with sunny skies and brisk wind that seemed to come from all directions at times.

 

ADD 10/17:

 

Got to Hedges Pond in Plymouth after lunch and stayed until dark.  Water temps were 62.x.  It was partly sunny and like yesterday, the wind was on/off from different directions.

 

I threw the kitchen sink in the pond and covered all of it.  I managed 1 SMB, 2-1, and a 0-15 yellow perch.  Both had fat bellies and were really ticked when I hooked them.  The smallie chomped on a chartreuse square bill and the perch ate a bluegill flavored lipless bait.  All the soft baits I threw, including Ned, proved useless....

 

A lot of work for two fish, but it was worth it.  Weather permitting, I'll be somewhere tomorrow.

 

I believe it's hard-bait season.

Couple slammer fish biggest going 4lbs, caught a brown trout on a  topwater, fishin magician skid stick, had a lot of hits! Also found this beautiful monarch butterfly. Saved it’s life

Anybody fish Cape cod lately(past couple of days)? I'm here now till next Saturday. Have my kayak. Going tomorrow in the rain. Wondering what everybody has been catching them on; and where(shallow,points,coves and etc..)? A little help would be greatly appreciated!

Anyone hitting wachusett res lately.  Hit gate 6&7 yesterday throwing kastmasters.  Jerkbaits and spinners.  Friend had a fish on early but it shook the hook.  

Anyone catch any smallmouth lately on cape cod? 

I haven't been out on Cape freshwater since late September (caught a few dinks at Cliffs on tubes last time out)...the weather on the weekends hasn't been very cooperative and my efforts were mostly focused on cleaning up the last of the Albies off of Monomoy...

My dad and I also managed to get offshore a couple times to chase some smaller Blue-Fin Tuna that are hanging out a few miles off Nauset beach. Our efforts were semi-rewarded, as we hooked into a what appeared to be a ~150lber on top-water spinning tackle (1800 size reel, 80lb braid)...but as we brought it beside the boat, the leader chafed off and the fish bolted. A very depressing end to what was an incredible bite.

I think with the nasty weather inbound its not looking like much fishing can be done ... but if the weatherman gets proven wrong, I may try to get out on Long Pond or Wequaquet Sunday/Monday...

Otherwise, the best we can hope for is that the longer-term forecast for November is correct, which shows a 2-week window of a warming trend in the middle of the month. That may be the last window of the season, unfortunately.  
     

Nice tuna!!   I chase bluefin on light tackle off the cape.   Hopefully the wind dies down soon.  Been terrible weather recently.  

i want a tuna so badly. It kills me i havent caught one yet in the 26 year of fishin. especially growing up on the ocean and one of the best fishing harbors in MA. still never caught one 

Drove to Hedges pond to see if anything was active. After 3 1/2 hours of dragging a drop-shot, tossing a perch colored chatter bait, and assorted treble hook baits I got called into work (thankfully) and left. 

 

I had one SMB follow a DT-6 and peel  off before it got near the surface. That was the highlight of my trip.

 

It was near calm, sunny, and the surface temperatue was 54.x.

 

I wonder if it’s blade bait and hair jig time.  

 

Plymouth has been tough this year.

Forgot to mention there were a lot of perch frye (sp?) along the beach when I launched & left.

Once the water drops into the mid 50s it's game on.  Especially if you can find the bait balls.  Hair jigs as well.  Hair jig under a float on a windy day works

That was the problem.... My Lowrance showed little or nothing.  Last week it was lit up like Times Square.

 

I played 8' - 15' drop offs and the one hump until the last hour then worked shallow areas.

Call or use Facebook and get in touch with coastal charter sport fishing.  Bluefin fishing is great this time of year.  They use light tackle so eat your wheaties.   Tell capt dom that DR sent ya.

Edit:  no light tackle involved, lol!  Tuna spinning setups are a blast, but good luck actually landing a giant on a spinning rod..

Gonna head out in a few. It has rained all day and night since Friday night and has now let up to a light mist. Not expecting much but my days on the water are numbered now so gonna give it a shot. Hopefully I can add a few pics to this post this afternoon. 

Got nothing, only had two hours. Tried some topwater and a kietec with a underspin.
