My New/modded Boat.

Featured Replies

Last July I bought a 14' Aerocraft, year is late 50's to mid 60's, can't remember the exact year right this second. I have a 1974 Sears Gamerfisher 15hp motor. Boat is great structural condition, with absolutely no leaks. I fished the boat from Late July through September of last year. My plans are/were to:

Paint inside

Shine outside

Put in Flooring and carpet

Deck rear and front

Add storage

Add main and led interior lights

Add bilge pump

Add bow mount trolling motor

Add depth/fish finer

Add Rod Holders

Fast forward to spring of 2012.

It is finally warm enough here in Upstate New York to finally get rolling. I have picked up a lot of the stuff needed over the winter in anticipation of the mod. Here are the picture of the start through painting. Tonight I will grab some 3/4 oak plywood and get the new transom cut (inside and outside piece) and prep it for the Thompsons Water seal. Any suggestions or pitfalls, please feel free to shoot them at me!

Thank you. I am happy with the end product. It was a lot more work and time consuming than I originally thought ( and expensive, lol) but it fishes so much easier and nicer for my family.

Thats cool, you did a great job on it.

Chromedog,

Well, I have found a lot of things you could have done differently.......Just kidding. That thing turned out beautiful. Nice job. Maybe you should go into business upgrading older boats.

Actually, I went from just barely finishing mine to now rehabing my buddies 17' crestliner. Pretty much had to gut it to the floatation form and redo everything. It can be fun, but it does take away fishing time. I guess I need a bigger garage (with heat, lol) and I might actually do one here or there because it is pretty theraputic. But trust me, this was my first mod, on to my second of probably many, but there are others out there doing some utterly amazing work.

Thanks for the compliments.

wow that is a great job!! nicely done!

Great job! Very well done!

thats a nice way you did everything :Victory:

that looks amazing. I was looking at the before pictures and didnt think it would turn out as good as it did. You definately did an amazing job. Now go out and get some bass slime on that carpet.

Very nice job.

Mike

That looks great man, you defininetly have the touch. Just be careful, a lot of the guys I have talked to that do their own mods say it's habit forming. Lol

Amazing job, now if i were only that handy i would do the same with mine.

Great job again, it looks awesome!

Clean install and mods, like it!

very nice work indeed....... youve got a fishing machine there

Great work!! Looks great!!

My next door neighbor has an Aluminum Boat exactly like this one sitting in his yard that hasn't moved in 10 years, I keep telling myself that one day I'm going to ask if I can have it, and deck it out like you've done and then sell it. It'll do two things, allow me to play and two, get rid of the unsightly thing next door. hehe

I want to o something similar to this when I get a boat too. Looks excellent man!

great job man
