REBEL V.S. RAPALA

Featured Replies

There's a lot of commotion going on about the slim minnow giants so what's your favorite? The plastic Rebel or the wooden Rapala?

rapala.

The only Rebel I actually use is their popper which is an awesome popper btw.

If given the choice between the two I like Rapala. There are some properties that a wood bait has that in a jerkbait is a plus. Rapala's in the plastic jerkbait models are a better bait in my opinion.

got a couple rebels when boaters world went out. they run every way but right. havnt tried them since , but i dont think ill be buying anything from them again. never had a problem with any rapala.

I like Rapala better. But I do prefer the Rebel Crawfish over others like it.

I think Rapala is probably the superior bait overall. However, I've probably used Rebels more often due to price considerations or availability.

By availability, I'm flashing back to the 1960s when I was with my Dad in a 12' jonboat fishing in South Florida. We would cruise by some spots that were popular with bank fisherman and sometimes find some nice lures hung up in the brush on the opposite bank. When we would find a minnow-like bait, it was usually a Rebel since Rapalas were more expensive even back then and most people back then were VERY price conscious! I still have, and fish, some of those 1960s Rebels! :)

Rapala here too!  :)

Rapala just seems to be of better quality.  Like someone else said the only Rebel I have is a Pop-R.  The Rapalas will last forever, I still have some jointed minnows I bought in 1994.

Rapala owns the world record for the most world records caught with an artificial lure.

Too bad Rapala doesn 't have a lure like Rebel 's Wee Frog.

BTW about 80% of the 600+ cranks I own are Rapala.  :)

make that x3!

another echo for rapala

Rapala.  Still have and use my first one that my dad gave my back in the 80's.

Rapala- and it's not even close. Rebel does make my favorite small crank...the deep wee "r" in craw color.

Rapala, they have a great line-up baits and most are under 10$. Floating Rapala, X raps, DT cranks are some of the terrific baits that they offer.
