What Crankbaits Do You Like?

Featured Replies

I have not really been picky when i buy tackle, i just pick up what looks good or if its on sale. I love to fish square bills. Right now i have some rapalas, strike kings and bomber. The bomber square A has been my favorite though BY FAR and i think i am going to start looking at those from now on. They are reasonably priced too. What do you guys like? Or do you just buy what looks good like me?

Every crankbait is different, Don't limit yourself to just one brand. I really like bandits, but I do wish they were more than 1/4 ounce.

I like the KVD 1.5, good price and they work pretty well. I recently picked up some Xcaliber XCS100, at 3 for $10 I had to give them a try, and I'm liking them so far.

I like Bomber myself. I have a Rapala or 2 and some 5 and 6xd strike king cranks i never really use because i dont do much deep cranking. I usually throw cranks in 0-8 FOW. I actually have some Academy brand h20 square bills that i wouldnt mind having more of. But i am pretty fond of bomber.

I think crankbaits are fabulous fish attractors and there are dozens upon dozens that would qualify as very good lures. Shad Raps are probably my all-time confidence crank, but that doesn't mean they're better than others.

You probably can't go wrong if you buy brands you've heard of, making sure that they cover the depths you want to fish.

Lipless: Spro Aruku Shads, SK RES

Squarebill: RC LC 1.5, KVD 1.5

Strike King and Bandit have been good to me.

Right now the Rapala DT models are getting more game time than the rest. But you can always find a Strike King crankbait close by

I'm a huge bomber fan, I've tried many other brands but when it comes down to it the bombers still produce and you can't beat a $3 price tag.

Mann's, Norman, Strike King and Rapala

Square Bills.... Bandit, Excalibur, SK KVD, and Bomber...

If its 8ft of water, the Rapala DT thugs works for me. Also love the rest of the DT series for cranks.

I like the IKE DT Rapalas. They can't keep them on the shelves around here.

Shallow: Norman Fat Boy (Redear pattern); Bandit 100

Medium: 1/2 oz Red Eyed Shad (Blue & Chrome); Bandit 200 & 300;

LC RV2.5 & 3.5

Deep: DD22; LC Stacey

i tried most brands and although they work well and never had a problem, i have settled into the H2O brand from Academy.

I am pretty much settled by the Bandit 100/200 series. I just love them. But I also like Rapala and Strike King.

the ones that catch fish :D

Rapala Shad Rap, Rapala DT's, Bandit, Bomber, and Normans.

Rapala DT series. They produce consistantly.

rapalas, strike king, bandit

I throw lipless more, but I prefer square bills.

Spro John in all sizes has been a very hard crank to beat. From square lipped to shallow - deep divers, there is just something fish like about them. They cost a pretty penny. But when I start thinking about how many I've actually lost, the cost really off sets itself. Quality made bait. And the weight transfer / tungsten rattle adds a different knock knock sound that fish don't hear a lot of. Hooks are excellent. I highly recommend them. They flat out catch fish all times of the year.
