i'm in the market to buy a flipping/pitching rod. There are just so many out there to choose from but i know i want a 7'6" but i want a rod that aint so heavy that i dont wanna use.

Can't get much better than a Abu Garcia Veritas 7'6" MH if money is an issue otherwise I like my Duckett 7'6" XH just as much. Both are LIGHT and SENSATIVE but got GUTS to haul fish out of thick cover. Plus they won't wear you down throughout the day.

I agree on the veritas it's what I use I have it in my hands 90% of the time when on the water. I love it.

I've never used a duckett before but I was able to handle them at BPS this weekend and those rods are very light.

If money isn't an issue, go with a zombie 7'4" nice tip and a tooon of backbone.

from what i have read about them i have heard good and a few things bad just a hard decision to make

I'm just looking right now I know you get what you pay for so as long as its not a crazy price I'm alright paying as long as its no more than $250-$300

Dobyns OWNS the flip/pitch rods. Get yourself a Dobyns Champion 765 FLIP...you wont regret it. There are a ton of good flipping rods out there, but Dobyns is heads above the rest in this catagory.

I have a G Loomis FS905 (7'6" flippin stick) and I love it. Mine is a custom on an IMX blank, but you can buy a similar factory built rod in your price range. It really is a cut above.

The rod above is an 893, which is 7'5" and a Med HVY whereas mine is Extra Hvy (power not weight) I also use mine for frogging, punching and light swimbaits.

I've been meaning to get the 7' 11" Veritas for quite some time now, just haven't gotten around to it. I also own a 7'10" XH Duckett along with the 7'6" XH and the 7'6" definately has more backbone than the 7' 10". Just wish one of the dealers around me kept a 7' 11" Veritas on hand to play with b4 I go and buy it.

Spend 320 and get a rod that was specifically designed for flippin and pitchin on the delta. Zombie rod and tackle. You wanna talk about balanced, light, and powerful. These rods have it all. I have a dobyns 766 and I use the zombie a whole lot more.

Might also want to look at Denali. They have both a 7'6" and a 7'11" in the Rosewood series. The 7'11" was developed for A. Rigs, Flippin, big swimbaits, etc. They also have a Ray Scheide Signature Model which is on a Rosewood blank. It's a 7'4" with microguides. I don't have these specific models but I have a number of Rosewoods including the 7'2" Terry Bolton Signature rod. They are very lightweight rods and are comparable to the Loomis IMX's I had been using. They sell for around $229.
