i've had some luck with bandit 100 and bomber A in citrus shad.

what do you use? color?

Anything with a flat side. Spro Little John MD have produced well for me.

Best cold water crankbait for me is a Lucky Craft Flat Mini in Original Tennessee Shad.  The signature Skeet Reese series baits are also worth looking at.

You asked for the best...in your price point I'd say you are doing the best you can with Bandit and Bomber.  Try the Bandit Flat Maxx and Bomber Flat A.  Traditionally the tighter wobbles of flat cranks work better in cold conditions.

3-Berkley Frenzy Flicker Shad in Shad, and Silver/Blue.

for me , the best crankbaits for cold water fishing are deep diving crank baits . i like to get down to those suspended fish that are not that active and retrieve them REALLY SLOW with little jerks and speed ups once in awhile to trigger bites from them . i like DD22's , Bomber fat free shads (BD7's) , Spro Little John DD , and strike king series 6"s . all costing well under $10.00 except the Spro at $11.00 .
