I know the guy that bought it from me sold it after a month....from what I understood he got tired of hearing "Hey, thats Redlineroberts' old car"...

Then it went to Idaho and them to Reno...who knows where it is now.

Somewhere along the way someone changed the wheel barrels to yellow. yuck.

I knew it was my old car as soon as I spotted the color matched sidemarkers and the one off steering wheel Gemballa made for me.

Of the 3 the only car I regret selling is this car. Holy moly was this car great. But, the offer I got was simply too good to pass up.

What motor is in the beck? What year was it?

Have u ever had a chance to drive a 550?

They are pretty neat considering the rarity of the original. Just wonder how the original 1,200 lb car flying at 120 mph taking a corner in panamera with drum brakes

Obviously the original is way to rare to drive. This car had a race prepped motor, race exhaust, and went like a bat out of hell. It was essentially a motor with a seat attached to it. :) I bought it with only a few hundred km's on it from a Porsche Concours Judge.

Nice race cars 00 Mod! I bet they kept you busy!

At the time I didn't have a bass boat. No room for it. :D

So, what toys do you have now?

recession?what recession? I also made a bad career choice.

I live 45 minutes from Laguna Seca. :)

Although I've been there for many track events, none that I participated in. Never tracked the Beck.

It must be the way I was raised, but I never understood people's fascination with luxury cars. It just a fabricated metal with a "luxury" name.

I agree. It was probably the way you were raised.

For me, obtaining something that by many seemed so 'unobtainable' was the driving force to buy my 'first' luxury car. I was able to accomplish that at the ripe old age of...26. :)

Now I'm a bit jaded, cars don't really interest me much. Not to purchase a crazy car like that atleast. I'm perfectly happy with my '11 2500HD.

I have different goals now. Retirement primarily, collecting hard to find bottles of wine/liquor, high end fishing tackle, etc...

The BEST thing that's ever happened to me though, was meeting the love of my life. Martha. Everything else takes a back seat to that!

Where is your bass boat?

I was going to ask where's the hitch at.

Sweet car!

Luxury is just a funny subject to me. I have tremendous amount of respect for people that came from nothing to multimillionaires and beyond. I idolized a lot of them and their hard work. People that inherited money from their parents or whatever then think they're all that are the ones that annoys the living crap out of me. Unlike other people, I don't see how spending money on goods to show social class is such an impressive feat. Human psychology about spending money and luxurious names are funny things.

I'm work my butt off and hope things fall in place where I will achieve the results of the people I idolized. I'll use the money to travel to amazing places and/or leave it alone and live a quiet comfortable life without paycheck-to-paycheck.

And it's all relative. Not living paycheck to paycheck is nice. Not having to work, well, I don't have that luxury. I have no interest in the historical part of traveling, and all of my family members have traveled the world. Just doesn't interest me. As far as cars, where could I drive a supercar in Chicago? People do it, I don't see the need. Is a $500 bottle of whiskey $480 better than a $20 bottle? It all ends up in the crapper. I would like to eventually have the time and means to travel the U.S. waterways by boat. Other than that, I'm content. Don't have any desire for added stress and responsibility.
